Son of a gun, just lost my post.......
Ruth, sounds like you had a very productive day- getting all that paperwork straightened out and old papers cleared out. Its therapeutic.....you sure feel better afterward. I also butn my extra papers , in the summer it goes in the firepit. So glad you located Dh’s birth certificate!!
CJ- sounds like you had a wonderful day!!! how far did you have to drive to the quilt show? Hope you get back to the Country Peddler today and can pick up some real bargains. What is your opinion of English papaer piecing?? I have a friend who does a lot with it-the way i see it, I will probably end up dabbling in that one day. Glad you got home before the rain! Hey, it rained and you did not have to worry about your roof!

A walk sounds like a good thing to do especially when the weather is nice. Have a pleasant one.Today is warmer here than they said it would be but tommorrow is supposed to be much cooler and will be a better day for walking here
CJ I do hope, too, that you find a lot of bargains today. When dh and I go to any of those type of things we go on the last day to get bargains. People don't like to have to take things home after a show no matter what kind it is.
Ginny, I saw that pattern once before. All we need to do is make sure we cross out the UK terms and put in the US terms so that we don't get mixed up and do the wrong stitch. The flowers are very cute. Thanks for the link

I finally found a picture of my own roses but I think the pic is fuzzy in my avatar. This was from 2012 and they were more yellow then. As the years went on they because more "peachy" in the center of the flowers and some along the edges of the petals.I've tried planting others rose bushes but this is the only one that survived. I don't have much of a green thumb...actually it's probably because I'm too lazy to take care of them properly.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today. Ginny - Those flowers are cute, thanks for sharing The quilt show is about 40-45 minutes away from where I live and I drive mostly on the back roads, so it's not too bad. Ruth - Your roses are beautiful, it's very interesting that they would change color over the years. I did go back to the quilt show today and found some good buys in the Peddler shop. I bought a few books and some cross stitch magazines for a really low cost. Also, when I was there they dropped everything to half price so I picked up some fabric pieces too. I try to look for fabrics that are nice blenders and also in colors that I don't already have much in that color. I also bought a quilt that someone donated that is fairly large and is already put together with backing and batting and basted and ready for hand quilting (which they did start). I can tell the fabric is older - probably late 90s, early 2000s, but it will be something I can practice hand quilting on. The colors are browns, reds, tans, and creams. I also bought a cute red, white and blue wall hanging at the Silent Auction for $20. I did bid on a pretty purple wallhanging that was hand quilted and then I heard a lady saying she really hoped she could get it so that she could give it as a baby gift this week when she went to visit someone. So I didn't keep bidding on that one and let it go. And now for the best news. I won one of the raffle gift baskets. I only bought 12 tickets (for $10) and put 6 of them in the box for this basket. The basket is a pretty large strong straw basket and it has several pieces of 1930s fabrics, a pattern and a kit. It also had a $50 gift card for the quilt shop that I like to go to!!! I was so excited. I haven't even opened up the basket yet (it's wrapped in plastic with ribbons), I'm just enjoying looking at it Now I'm motivated to get in my sewing room and organize and put away what I bought the last two weekends, and get back working on a project. Take care everyone!

OH CJ, I'm so happy for you in winning that basket...that is so exciting!! Now that will get your creative juices flowing again for sure. Sounds like you had a great time and found some really nice things. and that was so very kind of you to let that other woman have the wall hanging she wanted for a baby gift.
It got up to at least 99 here yesterday..that was the offical temp. It was hot today too although they claimed it was cooler. ...well cooler than 99 is easy but still hot. I got so drowsy from the heat I had to take a nap again and I hate taking naps. It seems like such a waste of time. I think we'll be going out tomorrow when it's to be cooler but maybe not till Tues as it will be cooler then too and the new ad for one of our stores comes out on Tues...maybe there will be things we want in the new week's ad.
CJ, now you can sit and enjoy looking at your basket while you enjoy your evening. I hope that Ginny, Meg, and Phyl will enjoy theirs also.
I'm making a list of what I want to make for upcoming birthdays and I want to make dd a pair of the butterfly fingerless gloves. She'll be thrilled that someone thought to give her a gift and they're just her style. It's not her bday but who doesn't love a gift. I have to take great grands birthday presents over to her house as one dgs is moving out of state and I don't want to have to mail it to them and they can give one to dgd's baby also as they drive thru her town so will save me two sets of postage
I'll check back later to see if anyone posts but otherwise will see you all tomorrow in the new week...can't believe another is starting already

Hello everyone, It has been sort of a lost weekend and I haven't done anything very exciting. I didn't sleep well last night. It was 6 30 a.m.when I went to sleep and I didn't wake up until about 2 p.m. I have really got my days and nights mixed up. I think a lot of older folk have that problem. So I am going yo have to try and get back to better sleeping hours. I have been waiting for Winston Grahams Poldark series book No. 7 and I was able to down load it yesterday and I am reading that. No crafting since Friday.
Ginny, I wish I could burn all the paper I want to get rid of. I better not start burning anything around here.
cj, sounds like you had a great day out and congratulations on winning the basket of goodies.
Ruth, The roses you have as your avatar look like a rose bush that I have. I used to have a lot of rose bushes but I gave most of them to a friend and only have about 3 left. We have started Devin watering the plants.
Have to go and get ready for bed. Have a good night.
