Phyl, sorry you missed your turn and missed out on meeting with your friends.I'm glad to hear that you got a lot done on your bandanna quilt.
CJ, sorry your air conditioner bit the dust. When it's that hot and humid you really need it.
Meg, it's nice that you also have a dry heat but it's still hot. I hope it's a little cooler by the time you have to go anywhere.
I didn't get a bit of crafting done today except for looking at the one pattern I want to make for my youngest grandaughter. I'll probably work on it tomorrow as it will be too hot to do anything outside except for watering the plants.
We didn't see nor hear any animals last night.

Well I got a few things done so far but more to do.Then it will be crocheting time although I haven't really been in the mood for that the last couple days. I've been looking at patterns...Now if only just looking at them would make them appear in an all finished state I'd be all set. I sent a message to ddil this morning asking if she had had the chance to measure the girl's Bibles...the girls that wanted the covers. Haven't heard back yet.
Despite the fact that yesterday was supposed to be cooler the weather site says it actually got up to 88. Now today and next couple days are to be really hot then a really cool weekend...I'm sure much to the dismay of all the people that wanted to go camping or do water sports.
Have a great day everyone. Ginny I hope you're day isn't so busy as to be exhausting.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today It's warm here today, in the 80s and humid - not that I've been out of the house yet to check I'll go out soon and get the mail. I haven't been doing much, just looking on the Internet at houses for sale in different parts of my state. Unfortunately most of them are just out of my reach financially, so I'm definitely going to have to decide what I'm willing to accept in another house in my state within my price range. Or I may have to decide to move out of state to get the house I'd like. I wanted to get into my sewing room to organize the fabric and things at bought at the quilt shows, but I haven't yet. Hopefully I'll get to that this week. I have been looking at the few books and magazines I bought for a cheap price at the guild store at the show. Take care everyone!

CJ, I would tell you to move here but the price of houses here is ridiculous. They cost so much it makes you wonder how people even buy a house anymore here.
I was just watching a video called Tube Quilting with Jelly Rolls....I'm amazed every time I see people making quilts and the way they make squares into so many different things. It was a video from a thing I got in email from something called National Quilting Circle. My email said,, caution, this looks like a phishing scheme but I opened it anyway. They do want you to join but they say it's only $5 for the first year but then $54/year after that with auto payment but that you can cancel anytime. Well as you know I'm not a quilter although I'd love to be, so I won't joing but the free video was great.

Good evening! Phyl, well what a shame that you missed the interstate turn off today.Sometimes they are spaced out so much that its almost impossible to turn around without driving 20 miles out of the way. Guess you were meant to go home, relax and work in the play pen! Funny how when our minds are distracted that we can get off track and make mistakes like that. Its something we can all relate to. Your bandana quilt must be so cute...I am sure it is turning out great. Tomorrow is a big day- please know I am praying for you.
CJ- congrats on the good cleaning. Think getting bad news from the dentist is so discouraging, becasue it all is so expensive. Some of those smaller appliances, like smaller window AC’s do seem almost disposable. They are made so inexpensively now. Hope that this one serves you well. I think that most of the newer air conditioners have ground fault circuit plugs. I would think that its best to leave the unit plugged in, unless you are expecting severe lightening- when a lightening strike on your house could occur (and fry large electronic appliances). Indeed, there is something about the hunt- the process of going through fabric, and envisioning what you would like to make with it. It is probably the most exciting part of the process. Very few quilters revel in the finishing process.
Ruth, nice to hear that you got some errands/returns done. What were you going to make with the chicken?? And in todays world we all seem to carry our cell phones, funny they did not exist 30 years ago. Glad you got back ok. So perhaps your neighbor has a really good memory. It is a comment I think I would probably just forget about and not be concerned about.
Meg-well I think we all hate decluttering, but love the after effect- a less chaotic space to live in.Bet you feel much better after a good nights sleep, so that you had energy to do some decluttering. The only bad part about finishing a good book is that you have to wait to get the next one. Hope you do not ahve to wait too long for the next book in the series.
Retirement starts for me June 23. Not sure how much it will hit me, as I have (with the exception of one) always chosen not to work since I started driving a school bus. I did apply as a substitute driver today, a mere formality. I know my director approved that I do that. It is my hope to sub occasionally- and I know the testing and evaluations are not all the time. Guess I will see how things go and how much I want to work. Or how much I do not want to work.
My crafting has been searching for quilting apps for my friend. The next 7 days of work (June 22 being the last) will be hectic. With the exam schedule. I am already wishing it was over..
We are in for hot weather- not my favorite time of year.
Have a good night all Ginny

Ruth, I still owe you those Irish Chain quilt directions....did not forget! My friend is borrowing them for now- the friend who I helped give the machine to. I figure that I will copy the directions and get them to you when I am done with work and have a bit more time.
Looks like a decent day here, hot but not too hot (although warmer than I like). Another day driving regents exams. Very tiring.

Ginny, definitely no hurry. As you have seen I haven't even done any sewing since I've been posting here. I've been too busy with crocheting all the things that kids have requested and things I wanted to make for others.
It was already 84 here at 10 am so I'm sure it's going to be a very hot day. I'm glad you have a/c in your bus.
I am praying for PHyl today. I hope they come thru with giving her the results and that they are good.

Hello Crafters Ginny - I hope that you will really enjoy retirement. I know it took me a while to adjust to not having scheduled things to do but it was so nice to sleep later, since I'm a night owl. Maybe substituting will be a nice transition to eventually retiring altogether. Ruth - It's hot here today too, in the high 80s. The humidity is low though and there is a breeze, so I have the windows open and the fans running. Meg - Hope you are doing well and getting in some crafting and/or reading. Phyl - Thinking of you and hoping everything goes well. I went out this morning to do some shopping. I needed a new Fitbit since the one I have has a few pieces that are loose. I really like wearing the Fitbit and I know it's kept me more active than I would have been without it. I also bought a gift card for more Amazon time so I can order books for my Kindle. Take care everyone!

Hi CJ, good to see you. It's up to 100 here now.
Yesterday I did a tiny bit of crocheting with #10 thread. Today I've been working on the last of the fingerless gloves. Still haven't got that last glove done.

Hello everyone, I got quite a lot of knitting done last night while I listened to another book. So far today not crafting but perhaps I will get a few rows done before I go to bed. It was slightly cooler today, in the mid 90s. It was over a 100 for a couple of days. I did some decluttering around my desk. Devin makes a mess there and paper sees to take over the desk.
cj, Perhaps if you worked with a Real estate agent he could perhaps find you what is in your price range. I think If I were in your shoes I would look at mobile home parks. There are some nice senior parks and I know people who have chosen to live there. There is a lady in my Knit Wits gp. and she and her 4 sisters all live in the same park. They each have their own mobile home and they all get along very well. Some of the homes are very spacious and there are always used ones for sale. It is something yo think about.
Ginny, I think you will find lots to keep you busy once you retire. But it is good that you can do some subbing and slowly ease into retirement. I am sure your DD will be glad to have some help with the kids when you have time. How much longer does your younger DD have at College?
Phyl, sorry you missed your turn off. Sounds like something I would do.
Ruth, I think houses are high everywhere. Though this part of Ca. they are a little lower than S.F. Bay area and Silicone Cone Valley , La. & San Diego. A lot of people in those areas sell their homes when they retire and move into this area. Houses here are a little more reasonable. Hope you are keeping up with all your crocheting projects.
Good night.

Hello Crafters Meg - Thanks for the suggestion about housing. I have seen some affordable modular home subdivisions in Pennsylvania, it's definitely something to think about. I'm glad you were able to get knitting done and listen to your book. Ginny - I bet you can't wait until the last day of school I'm glad you were able to work on your pillow case. Ruth - How did that crocheting go with the #10 thread? I think I tried some of that last year. It makes such pretty things. Phyl - Hope everything went well yesterday and you'll check in when you can. I spent some time today in my sewing room putting away the fabric and other items I'd purchased at the quilt shows and also just had laying on my cutting table. It feels a lot better to have that space clear so I can work. I also made a short list of a few unfinished objects (UFOs) that I've had laying off to the side of my table and hopefully I can work on getting through them so I can go to a new project. I did realize that I never, ever need to buy another piece of quilting fabric again - not that knowing that will probably stop me But I sure do have some beautiful pieces I'd love to do something with. The weather here has been nice, in the 80s, but low humidity. I didn't open the windows today though since there was less of a breeze. The sky has been such a beautiful clear blue, it's been a pleasure to look at it when I've been outside. Take care everyone!

Meg, so glad you were able to get some knitting done...Its a wonderful thing to craft and make with your hands....were you able to get to Knitwits today? Not sure what it is with computer desks. They do seem to be magnets for paperwork.. and my computer dest gets very messy too.

Glad that you have gotten your goodies put away- so now you can go through that stack of UFO’s and get busy.

Ginny, I'm glad to hear that you had only a half day to work today after the busy week.
Yes we all have to have just one more piece of fabric or one more skein of yarn.CJ, is going to be a master quilt top maker. Wish we could see pictures.
Hot here today again so just sitting around and will do some crocheting on little things. I weaved in ends this morning and realized I still have one more pair of men's fingerless gloves to make. And dd is planning on coming over on Sunday so I want to make those butterfly gloves to give to her then. She needs cheering up.
DDIL says their youngest dd doesn't have her own Bible yet...she's only 6 so has children's Bibles...but they're getting her her own "real" Bible for her birthday so they'll order it and when it arrives will measure it so that I can make her a cover. The girls are looking forward to having one like their older sister which has pockets for a note pad and another for a pen or highliter or both. Now that I've made that first one it will be much easier and I have revisions in mind that will make it easier too and it still will have the pockets and the nice cross on the front and maybe a little heart.
two of my dgc are leaving next week for mission trips. DS and his oldest dd will be going to South Africa on Tuesday for about 10 days and dgs will be leaving Monday for Taiwan but he will be staying there until the middle of Dec.So prayers for safe travel and safety while ther would be appreciated
