My answer to question of the day is no, I've never been on a hayride.
I'm getting hungry looking at all the delicious food here, so I think its time for breakfast. I don't think I'll find anything as good as all the pictures here, but I'll settle for a bowl of cereal. I can't even make toast unless I do it in the oven since our toaster is out in Never Never Land somewhere.

I didn't think to look for page 2 already and thought my post had gone out into cyberspace somewhere. That's why there are two posts saying I've never been on a hayride.

I have been on several hayrides. There was a polo field not too far away, and hayrides were available even though we lived in the city. Birthday parties sometimes were a hayride. Later I was visiting my grandmother in a much smaller town, and her church had a hayride for the youth group.
I'm glad you're back on the train, Doris! I hope you enjoy brunch this morning! We're celebrating!

I am bringing the cheesy potato casserole. It goes with anything.

Gonna try to mow just the front before it gets tooooooo hot! Heat index to be 103. Need I say more. Thought Trace might mow next week but not sure as DD told me he is having one elbow trouble and can not even push a grocery cart.
Doris, will MJ be getting a job as soon as y'all are settled?

Good morning everyone. Doris Happy Belated Birthday and hope you enjoy our small party!! So nice to have you back with us. Cat, great idea to have a Brunch.
QOTD
Yes I was on a couple hay rides. One of my first dates was a hay ride with the Church group. He turned out to be a dud but I had fun. the 2nd one was a Y Teen hay ride and my date was a very special guy to me, he had allergies and felt so bad for him By end of the night his eyes were all puffy and watering and sneezing and blowing his nose, I really felt sorry for him and could not believe he wanted to come with me. Still have fond memories of that young man.
The sky is clear, not a cloud in the sky and it is already 86°, finally some summer.

Lucy,
MJ has her degree in early childhood education and a minor in foods and nutrition. The main problem is that to get a teaching job she will probably have to go back to school for further education. She may be able to get a job as a teaching assistant but we'll have to wait and see. Once we get settled in she can start looking.

Gee whiz! It's only 9:15 and we are already into page 2!
Yes, I've been on hayrides. Not sure how many, but the one I remember was with my first boyfriend with a group from a country church. I was probably about 14. He was a nice guy, but didn't make much of himself in the world as he moved into adulthood. I still see him at funerals, etc. He's getting old just like I am.
Did you see the rescue of the 7-week-old deaf puppy on GMA this morning? Cutest little fur ball fell in a crack in the back yard. The whole community came to help get him out. It was quite an ordeal.
Doris, toast in the oven is the best -- but it sure heats up the house. If you butter just one side, then put it under the broiler, it's gourmet toast! The best ever! Nice that the girls are making friends. The Morman church does a wonderful job of training parents and families. Their churches here have classes in parenting and family life. We could all take a lesson from them in that way.
No real plans for the day, but I'd better get ready for what will pop up. Something always does! Whatever it is, we will try to stay cool.
Molly

Trying to remember a song popular when I was a senior in highschool or something not already listed. How about 'Lucille'? 'A Boy Named Sue'.
Happy Birthday Doris.
