Good morning! I'm responding to Jenny's post from last night. I posted on yesterday's thread because I was early. So sorry if I messed things up today!
Jenny, I use the Jell-O lemon cook and serve pudding mix (adding water, eggs, and sugar). I would think you could mix up the pudding from scratch and do the same thing. I mix it according to the package directions, whisk it really well in a 4-cup Pyrex measuring cup, and put it in the microwave on high for two minutes, take it out and whisk it really good and put it back in for two more minutes. I take it out one more time and whisk it -- it's almost done at this point. I pop it back in until it's boiling really good and remove it for the last time. It's done! Easy peezie!
JD was 20" and almost 10 lbs. on July 1. His therapists report that he is doing really well. His mom thinks he is going through a growth spurt because he is napping a little more during the last few days. That sounds pretty typical. His "actual" and "adjusted" timelines are beginning to come together; that means that he is almost doing what he would be doing if he were full term. His dad is going to have to return to work soon, so the little family is working on how one-parent care will work.
See you later! Have a great day! --Molly

Good Morning Connie and Ice Creams,
This morning it was 74º and going up to 90º and cloudy with afternoon showers or thunderstorms and winds will be light and variable.
Yesterday we went to church and afterward our pastor quizzed Rachael to see if she was ready to be confirmed. He said she definitely is ready and he was amazed at all she knew, but she did go to a Lutheran school in Nebraska and religion was one of their regular courses. She will be confirmed the last Sunday of July and our family will be received as members by transfer the same day.
We went out to eat at Mi Hacienda, our favorite Mexican restaurant. Everything was delicious as usual, but I got something different and it was pretty spicy, so I won’t get that again.
Rachael still isn’t feeling very good, so she may have another visit to the doctor today. I need to check with him about a prescription I need to get filled for long term (3 months at a time) and since he just checked my thyroid level I should be able to have him give me a new prescription for it. I also have to give Express Scripts my new address.
MAXINE CALENDAR: Mon 7/9: Don’t know about global warming, but my globes are pretty sweaty.
THE DAILY EXTRA Mon 7/9: How many common words of four letters or more can you make from the letters in the following word? (You may use each letter only once.) SWIMMING

SORRY, Molly and I must have been posting at the same time. so be sure to go back and read yesterday's Thread for Jenny's question about pudding in the micro wave and Molly's answer. And sure that was me on the float!!! LOL
For my lemon pie I make pudding from scratch, an old fashioned recipe given to me by my DSIL's Mom who had a bakery shoppe. I have several of her recipe's and they are special ones and always think of her when I am standing and stirring and stirring and beating and beating. and I do know there is a quicker way and probably very good. Also my meringue recipe comes from her and has baking powder in it. high and fluffy and browns up nicely on top of a pie. Now you know why I put it off for 2 days. Just have to be in the right mood.
My hair is almost blond from the pool and the sunshine. At least it doesn't turn green. Just the color bleaches out!! LOL Remember how all the blonds used to be green in the summer when we hung out at the local pool. I have to admit most of my swimming in those days was done in our local creek, It was dammed up on a curve and there were big rocks in the middle. Water was so cold we kept our watermelon and Coke in the water to keep it cold. I out of school and dating my DH. My Mom and Dad were not happy camper about us swimming in the creek but even though I was living at home, had a job and felt super independent.
Boy did I have a lot to learn. Not many city pools in those days. I learned to swim in an indoor swimming pool at the Y. although never really learned a lot. too many screaming kids and one teacher. For two years I did the local swimming pool, out doors, and a big grassy area to lay your blanket down and watch all the boys who spent all their time showing off for the girls. Vacations were going to the lake for a week and staying in a cabin with my brothers who were pretty obnoxious too. Baby oil for sun tanning. nope we weren't trying to block the sun, and lemon in hair to try to get blonde streaks. that never worked either.
Did you go away for vacations or stay home?

Hi!
Today is another warm day. We are going to wait until Wednesday to see if DD follows through on having her kids do my flowerbeds. If she doesn't, we'll ask our lawn guy if he will do it. It will cost a bit, but less than taking me to a psychiatrist! Those beds just make me feel awful as they are.
Today we'll pick up our grocery order, and get it put away before the exterminator comes for his monthly visit.
Nice that you gals are on the same wave length! Connie, the egg on toast looks great! I would love that, but it has been so long since I poached an egg, I'm not sure I could do it. I am not the cook I was, and I wouldn't even try a lemon pie.
Be happy today! Diane

Trying to get some things done this morning before I run out of energy. Energy, what is that? Oh it is what Trace had.
Picnic food, fried chicken and deviled eggs. We did not go much when I was growing up. Dad was afraid of lake water as they did not know how polio was spread and my teen years we were in a major drought. Also we did not go on vacations. My dad was a what they would call bivocational now. He worked in town and farmed evenings and nights depending on what had to be done. We learned to do many chores as we got old enough. I was oldest of 7.
I am cleaning up my camping percolator to give to the army great next Monday when I get to see him. He wants a percolator. He will be home 5 days then back for a short time then deployed. Anyway, the coffee pot makes 9 cups. He drinks lots of coffee. I found a smaller 4 cup percolator when Trace and I were antiqueing. It will go in the camper.
Oh, Cat, I have 2.6 to get rid of to get back to July 1st weight. Will that count when I get it off? LOL
Be back later. One more cuppa coffee. Have a great day. Old Crank Freezer Lucy

I love the coffee cup picture. maybe in the am I will have the toast and egg picture. my egg has to be over hard or scrambled.I am not a runny egg person.

My DD#2 Bean Dip would be my picnic food today, It is served warm with nachos or tortilla chips. I even like it on potato chips and NO you can't eat just one but hey this is cyber food. Think I also want a glass of chilled white wine.
I love poached eggs and always wanted an egg cup!! Like it on toast with a little real butter. even like dippy eggs if they are fried.
I am ready to meet my friends. I am going to drive to their house and we will go in their van, her DH has problems getting in and out of cars. He says sit too low and who am I to argue. Don't mind being a passenger.
sounds like JD is doing really well at home. I am sure they are hoping to get rid of all the equipment and maybe it won't be too long and they can.
Jenny asked for some topping for baked potatoes, oh my I am kind of a blah person, can eat a baked potato with nothing on it skin and all. But did like the cheddar cheese crumbles on top of mine lately. My DGD loves stewed tomatoes on top her's. with a sprinkle of fresh oregano. ( Is she part Italian or not!! ) Chile is good as well, I get it at Wendy's in the winter time.

Jenny, I eat my baked potato skin and all. I eat it with butter, or sour cream, cheese is good. I am wierd cause I like green tomato relish on mine.
Phyl, that ice cream sounds great to me. I just ate some vanilla Greek yogurt.
Got the army great grand's percolator as clean as possible to get an old antique that has been camping soooo many times. Got the bedroom he slept in in order. The sheets are washed and ready to go in the tub under the bed, blanket folded and in the closet. Next on the agenda is to vacuum and mop. I have a brace for doing those chores.
Salad for lunch in about an hour. Gonna work at getting back to July 1st.
About it for now. Oh, and gotta get a canvas ready for class tomorrow and I bought a smaller box for my paints etc.
