I will add one:
Amazon added a feature a long time ago: Ask a Question. The idea is that when you’re looking at a product, reading the info on the page, and still have questions you can ask a question of “the community” and get an answer from someone who knows,
Increasingly, people post non-answers like:
“I don’t know because I’ve never tried that.” “I don’t own this product, so I have no idea.”
I can’t decide whether these posts are by trolls or people who are just stupid to live.

You get these answers because Amazon sends people who purchased the product in the past an email asking if they would answer because they purchased the product. I guess people feel they have to answer that they don't know the answer instead of just ignoring the request. Maybe they think it would be rude not to reply. They apparently think there is a person behind the Amazon email and don't understand that it's an automatic generated response from Amazon's computers. I find it annoying when people ask the same question repeatedly when that question has already already been asked and answered numerous times. Just read the Q&A people !

I never answer those questions even after the emails and I rarely review any products I have purchases. It's mainly because I don't want someone to order something based on my views because they may get a bad one and then I've sided with the people who like the product.I mostly purchase based on the reviews and I no longer look at the highest ratings but the lower ones to see what kind of problems people have had with the product.
I once got a recumbent bike not from them but they do sell it.I got it as a replacement for one that gave out on me and due to circumstances it was given to us at no higher price.Well although it's a good named recumbent bike after 1 1/2 years it's going out again and after I read the reviews on Amazon it wasn't such a good deal after all.

I read the ratings on Amazon but increasingly, I don't believe them. I've read how many fake raters there are so I never know who to believe. Even asking people in a store about a product is usually futile; I get blank stares from clerks who don't even know what the product is or how to use it. I get better responses on these message boards when asking about a product.

linda72, I just turned one in a few days ago. New seller, had about 40 items for sale, every single one had 100+ 5 star reviews over the coarse of 2 days. Yeah, pretty blatantly fake.

I find it annoying when people ask the same question repeatedly when that question has already already been asked and answered numerous times. Just read the Q&A people ! I recently asked a question and after getting two non-answers I went back in and remove the question from Amazon’s system so I wouldn’t waste my time going back every time I got a notice from Amazon only to find yet another non-answer.

I don't do Amazon.
My biggest annoyance today was that I could find no dried figs. So, I got some dried peaches. Works for me.

I finally went to Aldi and I was so disappointed! After hearing about how great the store is (the prices were good), the quality of the produce was just awful. They had cherry tomatoes on the vine, looked great, in clamshell sealed packaging -got them home and they were all over ripe and soft/mushy. All of the lettuce types were wilted (miss handling/heat I'm guessing). Picked up a couple of grass feed steaks, got them home to repackage them and the undersides were nothing but gristle and fat. They had a good cheese section, and the smoked gouda is good, but the crumbled blue cheese tastes like cream cheese, no flavor. The frozen veggies were good and a good price. I'm not sure what I was expecting, and maybe it was just a bad shipment on the veggies.

I am really particular about the meat I buy so I didn't look at the meat/poultry section. I bought several different kinds of their low cal "Fit and Active" frozen meals and they were all awful, not even getting to a Michelina's Lean Gourmet level. They had some interesting snacks and they were pretty good but I don't need to be buying snacks. I bought a little loaf of German rye bread that was very good. A can of Mexican-flavored beans was thrown away after I tried some...ugh. Hummus suffered the same fate. I haven't been back in a couple of years and really can't see any reason to go back.

Paying homeowners insurance lol. We're not in the "100 year flood plain" but we've always carried flood insurance, just in case. I pulled up the past 10 years payment history: 2009: $196. 2019: $482. I know it's gone up over the past 10 years but good grief!
I haven't looked at the actual homeowners and windstorm ones yet.

DotRen, we also buy flood insurance every year even though we're not in the flood plain. My bill is the same as yours. We're on the west side of Houston. I'm dreading the homeowners insurance bill I'll get in July. I was told that everyone in the Houston area will be paying for the flooding from Hurricane Harvey from 2017. Good grief is right!

linda72, there are still concerns that Texas Windstorm is bankrupt, or soon will be, also. If that happens, I'm sure whatever private insurance takes over will charge 3-4x the current cost as well

DotRen You are so right about private insurance going up.We don't even have flood insurance and ours went up to $437 for 6 months this year.We will be looking for someone else for the next 6 months but probably won't find anything any cheaper.
