I'm glad to hear it was a fun night. Did they love the crocodiloes? I have a pattern for a crochet alligator but I've been debating about making that because it does look a little tricky. I thought making these little marine animals would be easy. I got my seahorse done finally and am glad to have that finished. It turned out much larger than I was hoping. I did find out I accidentally picked up the G hook instead of the F but that shouldn't have made a while lot of difference. I'm going to make a baby one too but this one actually looks more like a real seahorse than those that have been revised for children's toys. The woman that designed this pattern sure went to a huge amount of work to do so and she shared it free. Some have very simple patterns and charge a LOT of money for them. Kind of a nice day here today. Last evening dh said he was putting off painting until Monday which was fine with me but he's napping so may change his mind when he gets up but I hope not. I hate having plans changed on the spur of the moment. Yesterday was my greatgrandaughter's first birthday. It's amazing how much she looks like her mother. My oldest dggs is a replica of his father (my dgs) and the other dggs who is the son of my second grandaughter looks exactly like his dad too but the oldest one sometimes makes me feel like I went back in time because he's a perfect miniature except that my dgs had more hair at that age.DGGS still doesn't have a whole lot and the two dggs' will very soon be 2. Hard to believe all that time has gone by so fast. The dggs who is a month younger inherited our family strawberry blonde hair and he has quite a bit of it too. Dggd also has the strawberry blonde hair but very little of it also.We have a lot of redheads in my family.

Happy Saturday afternoon!!
Ruth, simply amazing how genetics works and certain traits carry through and others get lost. My Ds mentioned the other day that someone predicted that redheads will be scarce in about 20 years. Guess not in your family! Happy birthday to your DGGD! Hard to believe that a year has passed. Changing from an F to a G hook should not make much difference in the seahorse. Will you still use the seahorse even if it is so large?
Meg- between the air quality and the high temperature, I am glad you stayed home from Knit wits. Here too, the library is a cooling center. Today when I took books back that I took out for the grandkids, there were 2 indifiduals who were out in secluded corners resting, obviously trying to get out of the heat and humidty. I too hope that Devin goes to VBS- its nice that he gets out to socciallize.
CJ- WW changes program so frequently- but all the older versions worked too!!! Stick with what you know and works. If you are missing materials from previous versions you can usually find them on ebay.
Sorry to be so brief, but I am really tired. THe crocodiles came out cute and I think the kids had a good time. Ginny

Before I forget, Bosch is a german company- pretty sure these dishwashers are made here - as much as any appliance is made here. We bought Bosch because they make excellent industrial products- as in sterilizers that are used in the pharmaecutical industry. And the brand is known for low water usage and being very quiet- which was important when my Ds worked midnights. Too bad the darn thing does not clean well. Must be this model, as my Dd had the same model and hers did not clean dishes well either. G

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today I got to visit with family today at a college graduation party for one of them. It was nice to see everyone. They live about an hour away so I left early for the party and ran a few errands before hand. It was a long day since I was gone about 7 hours. I'm just trying to relax tonight - I'm tired Pat Sloan has a new Christmasy Sew Along. I'm not doing it but I'll check out her patterns so I can save the ones I like. Here's a link to the first block, scroll down to see the block pictures of those participating: www.ilovetomakequilts.com/2018/07/merry-bright-sew-along-block-1.htmlTake care everyone!

I have no idea at all which model my ds and ddil have. It's a huge disappointment when you buy something like a Bosch which you think will be really good and it doesn't do the job it's intended to do.
CJ, I'm glad you got to see family. It's always great to get toghter with family members
I'm going to go look at those blocks. I love seeing them
Of course after I went out and watered all my plants it's now raining and a lot even though the sun is brightly shining, rain is pouring down. Makes a nice rainbow.
This evening I'm going to work on a sea turtle. I can't seem to find a good pattern for a small whale or small killer whale. I might try to scale a pattern down as they do have patterns for very large ones. One woman has a very nice pattern for a shark but she is trying to sell it for $3 which I just don't want to pay. Yes $3 isn't much but when you think about the woman who designed the seahorse pattern that was very intricate and complex and must have taken her forever to write it and still is sharing it free it just doesn't make sense to me that someone else is trying to sell a much simpler one. But I guess people do want to make money.

Good Morning!!
CJ- sounds like you had a great day- even though it was long. Bet it felt good to get home and relax a bit.. Thanks for sharing the link for the Christmas quilt. I gave it a quick look before going to church....will check it our more later on. You find the neatest crafts online!
Ruth, so sorry you are having such a struggle finding good patterns in the right size for whales Thats gotta be frustrating...I guess you are using a #3 or#4 yarn? Congrats on getting some much needed rain.
Dh says we are in for another week of heavy rains here. (Hope not!). Today is a lovely day, the first day in many that I do not have the airconditioner on.
Prayers for the families in California who have lost loved ones in the fire. THe stories are heartbreaking. Ginny

I heard one especially heartbreaking story about the loss of life in those fires. It's horrible.
Ginny, I hope you have a good, restful day today and I hope that CJ, Meg, and Phyl do also.
I'm going to do some studying then work on moving things out of the bedroom ready for painting tomorrow. Moving some won't be easy because one of the walls I intend to paint is the one behind where we have the tv, dvd player, computer, etc that are all plugged into outlets and each other. Then will have an evening of crochet. I'll work on my sea turtle and decide on what to do next.

CJ, I forgot yesterday to go to that site but I did just now. I like a couple of the squares esp the first one that I think was made by Pat Sloan but for me personally I don't really care for that house block. I looked at some of her other patterns though and some are really nice and there are some I think I might try. Thank's again for the link.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I hope the painting goes well tomorrow. It's a hassle to move everything, but I'm sure it will look nice when it's all done. Ginny - We're supposed to have a chance of thunderstorms all this coming week too. I hope you don't get much rain and don't have any problems with water in the house again. Meg - I hope you will check in and let us know that you are not affected by the fires - hope you are O.K., and your family too. Phyl - Hope you are feeling well and working on some crafts. I'll be glad to share the weekly links for Pat Sloan's Christmas quilt. I like the people that are creative and fussy cut the Santa Claus or animal to put in the window and doors. Here's a Facebook page I ran up on today that has lots of quilting tutorials: www.facebook.com/keepingunstitchesquilting/?ref=py_cI went out to lunch today with two of my great nieces and a great nephew. They are in town visiting their grandparents and they come up here every Summer so I try to see them when they are here. It's nice to spend time with the younger children since the ones that live around me are all pretty much grown up now. We had a nice lunch at Dairy Queen and the kids enjoyed it. The weather here is nice and clear again today, but a bit more humid. Yesterday was a beautiful Summer day. I've been busy going out for the last several days but I hope to finish piecing my Solstice quilt top this week. I've figured out how to get pictures on my phone now, so I need to practice posting them on the board. Then I can "bug" you all with my quilt photos Take care everyone!

CJ, I really would love to see the photos of your quilt tops. It's complicated to put them in the actual message box...that is right here...and they always turn out to be very large. Some people on over 60's post a lot of photos and they're always very large. You could send us the pics in email though...much easier. I'll go check that facebook site you posted above. I do have a facebook account even though I rarely post anything on it. I do look at the pictures my family puts there and also play some of the games.
We did get a little thunder storm earlier with lots of hail of assorted sizes. Some were tiny and others were about the size of an extra large mothball. It's back to nice and sunny again now though but it is cool.
We probably won't get to the paining tomorrow after all. Dh wasn't feeling quite up to moving things today and there's no definite time it has to be done by except we want it to be done before winter so we actually have time.
Meant to say about my rose bush that I thought the deer killed off...well I think they just did a nice pruning job because the bush has come back better than before. It had two beautiful roses last week, had a really nice one yesterday and has four buds..more than it's ever had at one time before.
I've been watching Marly Bird videos on how to make a good seam. Well I followed how she did hers and mine still didn't turn out good. Guess I need more practice.
