Yes, LTM get one meeting per month free. They never pay a joining fee and get a 10% discount on the meeting fees if they’re over goal...but you still get charged for missing a monthly weigh-in.
In in all the meetings I have attended over 20 years, there were never more than 2 LTM present.

chook that is nice that you get a discount if you are LT over goal. We don’t have that here, just the no joining fee part. wait 1 free meeting? So if you want to continue weekly you have to pay for the other 3? Or just 1 with a weigh in but you can go to others for free just not weigh in?

Think you have to pay if you go more than once a month as they keep saying “you get one meeting a month totally free”, however, you won’t be charged for missing a week if you are going every week.
should also tell you that if you are LTM that they change the program....they give you all the new materials at a discounted price (i.e. NOT free) because otherwise you would be paying $30 a month for the app and would be able to get your information there. WW Australia’s way of making sure they squeeze every cent out of you, even after reaching LTM.

I know it has been a couple of weeks since the "Sticker Shock" but I can't help but feel like something is really going to be dropped on us in the upcoming weeks or months.
At my meeting location during first part of the summer the leaders were excited and telling us we were going to have a new meeting location. This was great news for us as were we did not have safe place to park, especially after dark (strip joint one one side and drug activity in the area). Well, the week before we were to move the district manager was at our meeting to tell us that we were going to stay put with no other explanation. She had a meeting with the local staff after the meeting and the enthusiasm and overall morale has been dwindling since then. My leader who is the most energetic, happy, and outgoing person is not anymore. She only leads a mtg about twice a month. It is like they are feeling really frustrated with WW.
I just feel like my town's meetings are going to be discontinued in the near future. I live in a small town and only have one meeting place. Just the kind meeting center that could be considered expendable to WW.

Unfortunately the closest meeting will be in Abilene, TX which is about a 90 minute drive.
Just hope that I am wrong. If not, online will have to do.

90 minutes is ridiculous. That's too bad. I think eventually only fairly large cities will have mtgs., and they will be at the main center. The goal I fear is to completely phase out meetings.

I have been suspicious of them closing meeting centers since Oprah did the weekly topics on the website.
After reading the information about the trademark application seems like online may soon be how WW handle mtgs.
I do understand that would a good thing for them and save a lot of money as well as possibly making themselves more available to a larger group of people. Just kind of sad to see it go that way if it does. I have been going to mtgs off and on since the 70's.

sawtex, WW pulling back from rolling out a new location doesn't neces sarily spell doom for the current loation. When little things started getting cut it was a red flag for me that WW was having money troubles. Now the recently reported financials don't say that, but then those Chief Finance Officers make the big bucks by knowing how to cast negative things in a positive light. To me things just smack of money being tight. Couple that with the fact that Artel, the majority shareholder of WW (they are the ones who bought the company from Heinz some years ago) is selling a huge block of their shares via WW as a new offering, and it seems there may be reason for concern. However, WW may keep your current meeting center open. Or they could close it and rent rooms by the hour somewhere. When I joined WW, California was franchised; most meetings were held in rooms rented from other businesses. I led a meeting at a "center" that was a room above a laundromat; there were several meetings a week held there. Another location I worked was in a basement meeting room in a shopping mall. Finally, one meeting I led was held in a community room in the non-public area of a Sears store. So there are alternatives to closing meetings; many meetings are still held as one-offs in churches, hotels, etc.

zazzles, hope our center doesn't close. Your post was very encouraging that it won't. But if all else fails guess my longtime WW friends can meet on our own.

I really feel like the future WW meetings will be live streamed on your phone or other device. Virtual meetings save on rent, salaries, etc. but it completely leaves members out of live meetings. Just today our meeting had a big discussion about premier protein drinks (where to buy them, how to use them, etc. Many members had never heard of them so there was a lot of interest) That interaction would be left out of streamed meetings. Those type of meetings would be easier for WW but not for the customers. More and more I feel that WW is only interested in the bottom line. Yes, I know they are a business looking to show a profit for their shareholders but the customers are important also. Or, they should be.
