vicki, how long are your meetings? Mine average 30 min., sometimes 40 if we get to yakking a lot. We used to have around 50 members in a meeting but over this summer, the number has dropped to around 25. I'll be interested to see if it picks up in the fall when school starts. Our 8:00 meeting starts at 8:10 and end at 9:00

There are probably a hundred members in my meeting. Could you imagine what the lines will be like if the receptionist's have to write everybody's weight in and calculate the loss or gain. As it is the line runs for the first half hour of the meeting. I would imagine the computer is still calculating the loss/gain. You're just not getting the sticker with the information. Rather than having the staff write it down for you it sounds like you may be expected to do it yourself. That might make it even worse as people ask the receptionist for a pen and to repeat the info. Fortunately I only have to WI once a month and I try to do it at a less attended meeting.

But, honestly, decide on a vision, a direction, create a roll-out plan, prepare member materials to explain and support the changes, and roll the damned thing out—all at once; get the pain over and done with once and let everyone adjust and get on with their lives. STOP making a trivial change every 3 or 4 weeks. This. I was trying to find a way to articulate exactly this. This is what drove me out 5 years ago, and will drive me out again when my initial subscription expires. I feel like I keep jumping into a boat that has no one at the helm. We just meander down the river, and every January we hit rapids and everyone clings for dear life, many fall off, and then we resume our trip lazily down the river. It also continues to anger me that WW with it's desire to court the younger, tech-savvy members is giving the proverbial finger to the crowd that has kept it alive in the past years. In my area, they have spent a ridiculous amount of money renting a space in one of the highest priced shopping centers, outfitting it with all new equipment (and every time I walk past to other stores it is closed.) Yes, by all means eliminate the stickers, that'll help pay the ridiculous rent so you can be between a sub shop and a pizzeria.

Exactly what Mike and Rad said.
It is like Playboy becoming a true newspaper and thinking no one will mind the slow and subtle changes. Drip drip drip

I just watched a video from the CEO and the chief science officer about the stickers.
Basically it comes down to a few point from the cooperate standpoint: 1) Stickers are old fashioned and we are "modernizing" 2) They want people to use the app only- again being "modern" 3) The weigh in stickers went away because sometimes there were mistakes and they can't fix our computer system, so they are just taking away the computer. 4) They keep referencing a "manifesto"- I have no clue what this is but apparently it has big changes to stop being "old fashioned". Maybe Zazzles can find this.
The comments from the service providers that watched it, focused mainly on our members that do not have smart phones or computers. About 30% of our members do not use the e-tools. Not sure where this leaves them. I know in my meeting it's almost 50% that do not use smart phones or computers
Just wanted to fill you in on what I just saw.

They keep referencing a "manifesto" Here's their impact manifesto: www.weightwatchers.com/us/impact-manifestoInteresting that the last line says "wellness is accessible to all, not just the few." But it's not very inclusive if you need a smartphone to use the tools.

Thanks for sharing that hpeterson1951. Yeah um, so they want to focus solely on an app, that is majorly lacking compared to the free apps out there (like on MFP where I can import recipes, the search actually works, macro nutrient info and I get a weekly reports to name just a few things) and the only “benefit” it has is Connect where it is a crapshoot as to whether you are going to get a foot shot, Mom in hospice, baby that has passed or an underwear shot. *eyeroll* *forgot to add that is just for the members that CAN access the app of course, Rad’s big proverbial bird to the rest.

Thanks 100gone. I must admit I didn't even look for it, but I have no clue how to connect a link if I did Interesting that the last line says "wellness is accessible to all, not just the few." But it's not very inclusive if you need a smartphone to use the tools. I so agree with this. My meeting is made up of 50% of members who do not have or want a smart phone. Many of these ladies are in their 80's and are very happy with pen and paper. I can't really blame them. I went back to paper tracking.

Wow. I stay off the computer for a few days & come back to a lengthy discussion. I haven't been to a meeting for a while but there were quite a few members that enjoyed receiving the Bravo stickers. I'm one that doesn't have a Smartphone & have no intentions of getting one just to get the WW app. If it ends up that we have to use the app, then I'll just cancel my membership.

Meeting length is also changing. It is to stick to exactly 30 minutes for weigh in and 30 minutes for meeting. My leader actually got in trouble for running 10 minutes over, but having a great discussion with everyone.
They are cracking down on this.

MFP where I can import recipes that is a great feature! It really is 100gone and you can bet every time I get the “how do you like us” from WW I include that it would be lovely if an app I pay for actually did everything my free app does.
