I'm back from my WW meeting and my monthly weigh in. Got my free e tools voucher and I've already put it in the computer. I'm free until Sept., 2020! That's 42 Lifetime weigh-ins which is very encouraging for me. Our meeting was all about : Thinking and feeling and then doing. We also got a free sample of the the new Oprah Magazine. It's got her name and "Weight Watchers" on the front and it's all about making little changes that give big results. It's 12 pages long with lots of ads but some good ideas too. Don't know if this will be a subscription. Oh, and it has a picture of Oprah on the cover. Of course.
DD called me this morning and I was invited to go with her and DGD who was getting her ears pierced. This was a 10th birthday request. We went to the pediatrician's office and all was well until the dr. tried to use the little gun to do the piercing. Oh no! She hesitated and cried; she didn't think she'd do it. After a few minutes of coaxing she gave in and let the doctor do it. Twice. Oh, I was afraid she wouldn't do ear #2. She's always cried and carried on with blood work in the past. But, in the end, she got both ears pierced. I'm sure she'll like them!

Good day.
Interesting discussion going on today.
I sometimes see white spots before my eyes, but I donāt do blue dots. Staying within a range of points each day to receive a dot only ensures that we donāt eat too many calories; it doesnāt ensure we eat healthy food.
Of course following the blue dot system probably is good for ensuring weight loss. But I canāt wrap my head around how it differs from āfadā diets given that the guidance provided by the GHGs is long gone.
I seem to have found a method for ensuring menu shake-up. I made a menu for the week, and now I keep changing my mind and moving or replacing meals. Well, I suppose the extra typing adds up to a FitPoint if I do enough of it.
2nd gray day in a row here. The rain is supposedly starting tonight. I like the rain, but I donāt like gray skies that donāt rain.
I made a family recipe and had some for lunch. My grandmother called it Hamburger & Rice. It is actually a stew made from onion, garlic, hamburger, tomato sauce and canned peas, and it is served over rice.
This gave me a chance to try the hippressurecooking.com method for pressure-cooking brown rice. And the rice came out greatāfar better than it does when I use the rice cooker. Only 20 minutes cooking under pressure and 10 minutes standing for natural release. Iām sold!
Having run around this morning doing grocery shopping (I used the last can of cat food this morning, so it was critical!), Iām now home for the day. Iām waiting on deliveries: my continuous glucose monitor is coming as well as a couple of consumable supplies to suport it from Amazon.
Guess thatās it for now.

Hey Everyone, lots of good reports and good 'tude today....I was *the same* at WI, yippee, so grateful I was willing to lower my points; the scale finally clunked down this AM. susiq25679 That is fantastic!! Sadly, I am not a šµ fan, but I'll give a š for anyone working a program! It was so interesting reading the early posts and Deb's title and it reminded me of something that has been a big deal for me in maintenance. I was reading a lot of books on food issues when I was close to goal because I surely still was being led by the nose by them. I read a wonderful blog post by Isobel Foxen Duke about eating disorders....I'm going to see if I can find the post, but the gist of it was that if you *don't have a wagon* you can't fall off of it. I know that started me on my journey of not judging food as good and bad, my day as good or bad, and finally myself as good or bad. It was really and AHA for me. Okay, found it, "Because as long as thereās a wagon to fall off of, you WILL fall off of it eventually." isabelfoxenduke.comLovely, lovely day at Mass General today. I close the set with "Let There Be Peace on Earth" (you young folk probably wouldn't know it, LOL) and I heard someone say *oh yes* and start to hum along; it really made my day. Have a good rest of the day! (Had missed page 3...I see Mike and I are in agreement about the blue dots!)

ksbruns Great quote. Congrats on another month at LT. Do you stay for the meetings? Our meeting had lots to say about thinking positively and giving yourself time to feel things before acting. Our regional leader also posted this: THOUGHTS HAVE ENERGY. MAKE SURE YOUR THOUGHTS ARE POSITIVE AND POWERFUL.

linda72 I haven't stayed for meetings since I gave them a shot a year ago...I was just too unhappy with the Smarts Points transition and refused to sit there and the *that person* that is negative, but I also didn't feel like I could wave my hand to be excited. I did like the leader that led that LT meeting last month, so maybe *down the road* will check out some of her meetings, but I really like to WI on the 1st, one of my little traditions, and this month and next that will be Wednesday, so no time soon. We have a Monday evening local meeting, but I am definitely committed to an AM WI, so don't see that happening. I remember how staff felt about people that showed up for the meeting when they had already weighed in elsewhere. On we go! I also love your quote. I am far from perfect (just ask J!) but when I am down and out I just need to get myself out of it and not spread it around. I absolutely believe that thoughts have energy.

ksbruns So much of what I'm hearing at the meetings this year remind me of things from the Pink Beck book (so glad we can say that name here!) I've seen some discouraged members this month feel so much better about themselves when they learn there are things they can do to lose the weight. So much depends on getting your head on straight because that is the first place that weight loss occurs. We talked about conquering a Super Bowl party because some felt there was no way they could attend because of the high point foods that would be there. The group gave them lots of ideas to be able to live with this new lifestyle. You've always been so helpful to people here and I know your contributions at a WW meeting would be great.

I've seen some discouraged members this month feel so much better about themselves when they learn there are things they can do to lose the weight. So much depends on getting your head on straight because that is the first place that weight loss occurs. We talked about conquering a Super Bowl party because some felt there was no way they could attend because of the high point foods that would be there. The group gave them lots of ideas to be able to live with this new lifestyle. You've always been so helpful to people here and I know your contributions at a WW meeting would be great. You are sweet, Linda. I am fine as long as we talk about *beyond the scale*, LOL, but since I really don't support the SP plan, it's just tricky. The last meeting I went to last year was lots of praise for a member who had still lost weight that week even though she had gone out for martinis several times...I have no problem with people working into their program anything they want to do, but it wasn't that way; without the GHG's, I could have a diet of cookies and still lose weight (and yeah, I know that for a fact.) And the whole thing about losing 15% more on this plan than any other makes me see red when I think how miserable I was last year and couldn't quit losing on maintenance points. I see so many people losing weight so quickly, and I see so many people reporting *being back*and up and down all the time. I realize that was always the case, but I think because I feel like I do about SP, it just doesn't give me a lot to contribute. Like all of this negativity, LOL. I am glad that people realize they have to get their heads in a better place, but I spent 35 years thinking I had to get my head figured out before I could lose. It wasn't until I just put my head down and did it that I found success, for me, WW's will always be *about the scale*. The best thing I see getting talked about now is that there is a lot more conversation of accepting that there is no finish line to this race...anyway, never say never and all that. And yeah, to the Super Bowl stuff. I know for so long I saw every event as a reason to *go off*...which of course goes back to my post about the wagon, LOL. I feel certainly I will spend every day as long as I draw breath trying to figure out balance!

LOL, sullicat1 I just came back to apologize for my rant! I'm sure if I hadn't moved so much, had friends to go see, etc, it would all be good. But, I'm tired of being the stranger at the meeting that no one bothers to say hi to, and then sitting there not liking what I'm hearing, blah blah. There's no question I learned how to work a program online.

And welcome, we have a bunch of rock stars in here that will keep you on track Ok so I stink at naming challenges lmao, we all know I am a firm believer in the GHG's so I will be going to everyone's house and doing spot checks to make sure you are all getting them all in *cracks up* Seriously though I saw a few were running amok (lol) so I thought I would throw a challenge out as a fun way to get back on track. I did not mean any offense to blue dots or wagons nor were any harmed in the making of this post *snort* And ksbruns, I would totally be saying hi to you if I saw you at a meeting!

Congrats also to linda72 ksbruns mlj2151 and thanks for the great quotes. I'm another faithful to the GHGs - swear by them! DebDoesWW when I read dragging the wagon around, I went right to Monty Python's "Bring out you dead" chant in my head - what the heck is wrong with me?! Hope today was okay neen great attitude - healing thoughts for MIL Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the evening!
