I usually don't add any sweetener to my food/drinks. If I do need sweetener for something, I use Trader Joe's organic sugar.
I pay a bit more for organic as I've read that pesticides and herbicides are used a lot in sugar cane production.

Alias, I went checking to see where I got it from, since it was the first question to hit my mind this morning and one of the first things I checked. It was from the Pure Circle Stevia Institute. So, I will definitely cut back on the amount I consume. Thank you ever so much.

I don't use any, but I bought a whole big box of Splenda packets at Costco a few years ago. Think I should throw them away? I don't think they expire. I would give them away if I knew anybody that wanted them.

I would give them away if I knew anybody that wanted them. Check the box. There should be an expiration date. If not, there may be a phone number on the box that you can call.

alias123 , From the Splenda website: "There is no expiration date required on either SPLENDA® No Calorie Sweetener Granulated or Packet products. These products are very stable and can remain in your home for years without losing sweetness. However, they should be stored in a cool dry place to avoid moisture."

I use S&L in oatmeal which is around very 2-3 weeks or so. Also in unsweetened iced tea when out for lunch I use Swiss Miss Sensible Sweets in my coffee along with skim milk.

3 Splendas in my one cup of coffee. I usually sprinkle a packet in cut up strawberries.
When I make popcorn, I sprinkle in a few packets of Splenda along with the salt because I like kettle corn.

I only use Stevia. I use 2 packets of Stevia in my hot tea in the morning and 2 packets in my plain Greek yogurt. In the winter I usually use 2 more in hot tea in the evening. So - 4 to 6 packets. I had wondered also if I was using too many. I do not use anything in my cold tea. Drink it straight. Lol.
I also do not buy products with artificial sweeteners in them unless it is Stevia. So, I am always reading food labels to hunt out the hidden artificial sweeteners. I have noticed that most light breads have either Splenda (sucralose) or aspartame in them.

Alias, in rereading some of the stuff in the article you shared --- that's for Truvia, Purvia and Enliten. Those are not the one I use. I use Stevia in the Raw.
Stevia in the Raw has dextrose and stevia leaf extract.
Truvia has erythritol --- which is made from corn, stevia leaf extract, natural flavors.
Purvia has dextrose, Reb A (stevia extract) and natural flavors.
I could not even find where I could buy Enliten in packets. Maybe I just didn't ask Google the right question.
Thank you all for participating in my question today.
