I heard the FEMA director on MTP & another show this morning. When he mentioned spousal abuse, it was like WTH!... He was clearly pandering to JA to save his job since he (FEMA director) is under investigation & may lose his job.
Just went & read link you posted, Joyce. UGH! I sure hope JA is impeached or indicted before he even gets a chance to run in 2020. I've been watching the Man In The High Castle on Amazon Prime. Yikes, thinking we could be going down the Nazi road again.

FEMA director blames Maria hurricane deaths on spousal abuse. I don't have a link, but you can check it out on the Political Thread over on the GDT. This is all too much.
Michael Moore says Trump will be a two-term president.

I believe that. He has managed to bag the religious right. That's all he needs. These brainwashed people are gullible and believe anything. The GOP and other cunning groups have managed to convince them that the Republican party is the party of God. And they love, love, love honor and obey their God. Therefore, if they even think about voting for a Democrat they are unfaithful to their Lord and Master and will burn for Eternity in Hell. The stakes are too high. The cunning jerk in the WH knows this and will use them until they're all used up. All he has to do is throw them a bone every now and then and they'll roll over and play dead.
They firmly believe anything the jerk in the White House does is all part of God's will. God has a Perfect Plan, He works in mysterious ways, He's a Republican, and the jerk in the WH is all part of that plan. If you vote for a Democrat you're voting against God and that means you're voting for the Devil. Reason and Common sense don't even exist in their world. Faith, trust, and obedience is all that matters. They are ripe fruit being picked daily by a demented and evil maniac.
I know. I've lived among them. There is only One Way and it's their way. There are no other options. You're either with their God or against Him and they honestly believe the Republican Party is the party of God.
It's like that old ad about a mind being a terrible thing to waste. They don't have to think. Just trust, obey, and never question. If you do question that means you're questioning God. The jerk in the WH bagged them and they ain't getting away.
Religion and politics are deadly.
BTW, Hitler was a Christian. Doing the Lords work. Just saying.

Well, now. Things have taken an interesting turn with the Kavanaugh nomination. Push comes to shove, the Republicans would vote Kavanugh into the SC despite the allegations even if true. You don't hide thousands of papers on Kavanaugh for nothing. I hope this nomination gets delayed but I just have my doubts. Did you see Donnie Jr. Instagram in response to this letter from Kavanaugh's accuser. ...If I can find the link I will. What a childish idiot Donnie JR Is.

I guess Donnie & Daddy both find sexual allegations funny..But I guess when you have a disgusting thing like JA for a role model, what can one expect...UGH!

Donnie is trying so hard to be just like Daddy, and he's succeeding. Both are scum. No wonder Donnie's wife recently kicked him to the curb! I don't know how she managed to stay with him as long as she did. Yes, they both think women are prey and neither of them is capable of even pretending empathy. Like Daddy, Donnie Jr never knows when to just shut up and be quiet. He craves attention, and wants to be provocative. Probably thinks that wins him "atta boy" points with Dad. He's probably right that it does. The kind of thing that would make any normal father hang his head in shame over his son's behavior is exactly the kind of thing that makes the JA proud. The word disgusting doesn't even begin to describe this entire family. Every single one of them except for Barron makes me sick, and poor Barron doesn't stand a chance because he has no role models in his life. The JA is always saying something is "sad." Well, I really do feel sad for Barron. For the rest of the crew, I hope they get exactly what they deserve.

Kavanaugh at the WH this morning...Offering to withdrawn his nomination? As a courtesy to the JA or because Kavanaugh knows what this woman is saying is absolutely true? Interesting!
He still says it never happened. But if he was as drunk as what is being reported, then of course, he's probably not going to remember. It will be interesting to see if the "other guy" in the room is brought before the committee to testify under oath. I think he should be brought in as well.
Whatever happens, its all turned into one big "s-show" just like everything this JA of a President does since the day he stepped on to that escalator.

I'm completely disgusted by the number of Trump supporters who immediately discredit this woman. In all seriousness, if she'd made the allegation against a celebrity or a democrat, they would have jumped all over it as "true!". Makes me sad that people allow themselves to be so completely politically motivated that someone who *may* be a victim is automatically regarded as a liar because she spoke up. No wonder so many victims of sexual misconduct just keep their mouths shut.
However: IF it turns out she is a fake, then let the law deal with her to the fullest extent.

I agree DotRen. My guess is that her allegation is true. I can completely understand why she didn't come forward at the time. She needs to be heard. As you said, IF she is not telling the truth, then let her accept the consequences. But my instinct tells me she is telling the truth.

Reading Kavanaugh's memo regarding Bill Clinton makes me think even more that he is just one more example of hypocritical conservatism. It's all "do as I say and not as I do" with so many of them. I hate hypocrisy, and there is plenty of that on both sides of the aisle but IMO it weighs extremely heavily on the conservative side. Those folks who want to tell the rest of us how to live very, very seldom heed their own admonishments.

it was interesting as well, reading statements from both Collins & Merkowski (sp ? Alaska) when Al Frankin's accuser came forward. They both said he should resign. It will be interesting to see how they handle the Kavanaugh accuser. Yes, many examples of hypocritical statements. JA always sides with the perpetrator. I bet he wants to tweet so bad today, but the babysitters are sitting on his fingers or have taken his phone away.

If I remember right, both KAC & SHS both accused all of the women accusing JA of sexual assault of being liars. But now, of course.......
Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway says Judge Brett Kavanaugh's accuser Christine Blasey Ford should be heard on Capitol Hill....Huff Post
KAC taking the high road on this matter is pretty darn laughable. If this woman should be heard, then so do the dozens of others who have accused JA of sexual assault. But we know that will never ever happen. The double standard is glaring. .

This even before the hearing begins to hear her testimony....

Remember back when Clarence Thomas was confirmed and the Anita Hill hearings? Orrin Hatch was just really nasty to her during those hearings. So nasty that all these years later I still remember how he treated her, so I am not at all surprised that he is belittling this woman now. He's one of those Rs who if he had his way women would be in the kitchen, barefoot, and pregnant. If it were left up to him I seriously doubt women would even have the right to vote. He's a misogynist for sure, and such a hypocrite. How he became such good friends with Ted Kennedy I will never understand. Of course, none of the Kennedy men had any room to talk when it came to women. They were to be admired in other areas, but definitely not when it came to philandering with women.
