Just a quick check in between cleaning out storage shed. The stuff that one collects in 50 some years of living here is amazing...LOL...And I keep cleaning out every year, but I swear it grows & grows & grows. DH & I decided it really was time to go thru stuff & donate, throw or giveaway. I have given the the kids all their pics, memorabilia etc from their growing up & school years. Grandkids are having a blast seeing their parents in a whole new way...LOL...Grandaughter texted how fun it was to go thru all the pictures. Yes I'm old fashioned & like "real" pictures, vs stored in the cloud. I guess the more DH & I clear out the less for the kids to do someday. I know when DH & I did our parents home, we moaned & groaned about all that we had to go thru & decide what to do with. So, I'm trying to save my kids from so much moaning & groaning. LOL
Wonder what Manafort is going to spill. Also, wonder if he thinks he will get a pardon. I'm sure if Mueller was going to accept a plea deal, he wants something very significant. Plus, if Manafort throws Donnie Jr or JA himself under the bus, he can't think he will get a pardon. I wonder if Manafort is doing this to protect his family from Russian operatives who would retaliate. I think he owes Russian billionaire & I'm sure they want their money back...Manfort must be caught between a rock & a hard place. Works for me!!!

@lka5, the way Donnie feels about "flippers" I'm guessing any kind of pardon is off the table for Manafort. And of course both Sarah Sanders and Rudy Guiliani have come out to make sure their base knows that NOTHING Manafort has been accused of has anything to do with his time on the campaign. However, from what I've been hearing if he has agreed to cooperate, he can't limit what Mueller's team asks. I would think Donnie would be shaking in his boots.
And oh yeah, the cleaning out. Dh and I started about a year before we were thinking of moving. We were going to down size so we had to get rid of a lot. I found Craigslist, donating, and a website called "freecycle" helped a lot. Freecycle was great for getting rid of stuff that you couldn't sell or donate, but was still too good to just throw away.

I'm really looking forward to learning what Manafort is going to spill. JA and JA Jr must both be shaking in their boots, and I'll bet Jared is hiding under the bed himself. As my grandmother would have said, "looks like their chickens may be coming home to roost." Oh yes, the cleaning out is not easy. I still have a closet packed full of my mom and dad's stuff even though we got rid of most everything when they sold their house, then got rid of so much when we moved them to the nursing home, but still I have this closet full. I know they'll never need that stuff again, but yet I hesitate to get rid of it just in case one of them should ask about something I don't want to have to say I got rid of it. Then there's the stuff of ours that I need to get rid of, but haven't. We got rid of a lot when we moved, but we had to make the move so quickly that I didn't have time to really cull things out like I should so I have a lot of clothes, etc. for us that I need to get rid of. Yet, I keep postponing getting it done. There are some things I am very organized about, but LOTS of other things that I am a champion procrastinator about. luanne I've never heard of freecycle before. Here's to hoping Manafort is about to sing like he's on stage at the Metropolitan Opera. That will be beautiful music! Now what would be really something is if Jr flipped. I don't think that would ever happen. He'll be loyal to his dad, but I don't doubt for an instant that JA would throw him under the bus to save himself. Jared might be a more likely one to flip if the chips are really down. Not likely, but a girl can dream. But then didn't Jared's aunt flip on her brother Jared's father? So, it's within the realm of possibility even though probably pretty far out on the edge.

nashville11, my mom (she's 97) lives with my sister and her husband. Over the years my sister has slowly been getting rid of a lot of Mom's stuff. However she's finding there are certain things Mom says she doesn't need anymore, then a few days later she'll ask my sister where that particular item is. So my sister has started posting notes around saying things like "Your rings are in the safe WHERE YOU ASKED ME TO PUT THEM".

My great grandparents ran a small diner when I was a child. I still have a set of the dishes they used, packed way in the garage 30+ years, that I've never used. I can't bring myself to throw them away lol.
I found it ironic that they want to replace the FEMA director for misusing funds, when they misused them to put $$ into ICE! So ironic.

I love this description of JA by John Kerry.....
"Unfortunately, we have a president, literally, for whom the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth is three different things, and you don’t even know what they are,” said Kerry. “He’s got the maturity of an eight-year-old boy with the insecurity of a teenage girl. That’s just who he is.”

Kerry was certainly right on target with that assessment of the JA. It fits him perfectly.
Manafort's lawyer said he is offering a guilty plea and going to cooperate with the Mueller investigation because he wants to "keep his family safe." Wonder just what that means? Keep them safe from whom? Sounds ominous, doesn't it?

I think he needs to keep his family safe from the Russians, who he happens to owe Millions of dollars to. I would be worried too, if I were Manafort. The Russians don't play around. Also, heard a report, that one of his daughters wanted to change her last name because it was too hard to live with the name Manafort. I would assume so. I wonder if they ever thought of where all Daddy's money was coming from while growing up?

So does this mean his family is going to receive Federal protective services? Just wondering, not complaining. I don't want anything to happen to his family either. And yes, I would be shaking in my boots if I had Russians p*ssed off at me. As for his children thinking about where all the money was coming from, I doubt they gave it much thought at all. Most likely those who are a part of that "social circle" take lying, cheating, etc as a business norm, and never stop to question it. Money and lots of money is just a way life. Or at least that's how I imagine it having never been a part of that rare stratosphere. Wonder how I would look in an ostrich coat? LOL! Terrible because I would be caught up in feeling sorry for the poor ostrich.

Well, if Federal $$ are spent on protecting his family, I would be willing to be OK with that as long Manafort has something to totally bring JA, his family & others indicted for crimes against this country or others.

Amen to that, Linda! And that is what I am expecting if Manafort holds up his part of the deal. Of course you never know what the JA is having Manafort told behind the scenes about guaranteeing a pardon for him if he holds back. But Manafort would be extremely stupid, IMO, if he fell for that. He certainly has every reason to know that the JA can't be trusted.

The JA is being strangely quiet so far since Manafort flipped. He must really be scared. Wonder how much longer they can keep him curbed before he makes things even worse for himself again?

I would assume, JA is so quiet because he knows what Manafort knows about Donnie Jr & Jared's involvement at Trump Tower meeting. I bet its a whole bunch of info to bring this family down starting with Donnie & Jared. It won't be long before he steps all over himself. He's his own worst emery. The thing that worries me, is what is JA going to do next to distract from Manafort? What crisis is he going to create to cause a distraction?

FEMA director blames Maria hurricane deaths on spousal abuse. I don't have a link, but you can check it out on the Political Thread over on the GDT. This is all too much.

Michael Moore says Trump will be a two-term president. Please, please let this not be so! This article, if you haven't already seen it, is an interesting read.
