Thank you so much CJ! My computer isn't old but it has "spells". Usually it's very slow loading but strangely it loaded all the sites you posted very quickly. My intention was to make Christmas ornaments and back at the first of the year I thought I had a lot of time but I didn't take into consideration the time I waste so it won't be this year either. But I've added those Christmas items you posted links for on my Christmas ornament list and the others on appropriate lists to that I can work on them when I get a chance. It's a beatiful day today. Nice and sunny and about 70. Love this kind of weather!! I worked on my "cave" some this morning and will work on it more later. Mostly I organized my stash of gifts that I collect for the grandchildren when I see them on sale or on clearance. Some I end up putting into Toys for Tots at Christmas or whatever organization the stores have the donate bin for. I have a long way to go on my cave. Dh peeked in there yesterday and asked me how I even walk in there but actually I had yarns and fabrics pulled out from shelves to that I could organize them better. Normally I can walk in the room well, pretty much anyway. And I have summer clothes in there too to put away for the winter so it is a mess right now.I told him I need another room. Unfortunately our house has only 3 bedrooms so he has his cave, I have mine and we having our sleeping room. I can't figure out a way to have any other space for my crafting things. He has a lot of stuff in the so called family room but I can't figure out a way to use part of it for my stuff.

Happy October everyone, It much cooler here, in the 70s most of this week and it is overcast today. There have been showers in some areas and we should get more rain in the near future. I finished the b/blanket I was knitting and just have to weave a few ends in and give it a wash. Now to get the other b/blanket finished. I have been working on these 2 most of the summer. I should say not working. Anyway time to settle down and get to work.
Ginny, I hope you have a fun day with the grand kids. I have never made a fleece blanket. There were some really nice ones at the beach cottage I stayed at earlier in the summer. They were 2 layers very warm and were great to cuddle up with.
Ruth, sounds like your weather is about the same as mine, 70s weather is very pleasant and I am going to enjoy it while it lasts. We wont get really cold weather until about December. Finding storage space can be a problem. I am going to sort through my stash and try and come up with some to take to my DDs workshop and I have also some old greeting cards that they can use for art projects. I have lots of things I need to do I am just slow getting them done.
cj, I watched the new season of Poldark last evening which was season 4. Did you watch it>
Phyl, hope all is well with you and that you are getting out to do some bumming.
Have a great day.

Good evening!
Meg, hurray for cooler weather!! Enjoy it! Rain must be welcome too.....congrats on finishing the baby blanket
Ruth, hope you can figure out a creative way to store your crafting supplies. Its a challenge for me too!! One thing that works for me for short term storage is that I inherited 2 dough box tables from my mom. Gives me some storage space for what I am working on.
CJ- LOVE the pointsettia pattern. Thanks for finding it. How did your day go?
Super busy day. WOrking on the last side of the afgahn getting the border on it. Cannot wait to move on to another project.\
Hope Phyl had a great day Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ruth - I'm glad you liked those patterns, I thought they were all cute. Hope you have good weather today too. Meg - I did watch Poldark and it looks like it's going to be another good season. Cornwall sure is pretty, I love it when they show the scenery. Ginny - I get emails from Hooked on Crochet and they have links to patterns, so that's where I found the ones I shared. Hope you can get the afghan done so you can start a new project. Phyl - Hope you are making progress on your projects. I actually did some crocheting the other night, two rows around a large granny square blanket I've had working for awhile. I have 3 half finished projects that I'd love to get done. The weather here is warm again, in the 80s and a bit humid. I'll be glad when we're done with that. I picked up some boneless spareribs at the store yesterday and cooked them in the crockpot using a McCormick's BBQ seasoning packet. I shred them when they are cooked and they were pretty good. Take care everyone!

Good morning everybody. It's a nice day here today except for the very strong wind but I'm not going anywhere so I'll just sit inside and listen to it.
CJ, My dh would like that bbq dish you made. I'm not real fond of bbq sauce myself though. Three projects not done!! One of the things I showed my dh in my cave day before yesterday is the very large bin of baby blankets most of which are done except for edging and I have tons of other WIP's that I need to get busy and finish so I was smiling when you said you had three
I used to get emails from those people, CJ, but all of a sudden they stopped sending them. That happened one other time too. I don't know what the problem is. They aren't going to my junk mail either. I'm glad you enjoyed watching the Poldark episode on tv.
Well I got the body of the Bible cover done and I got the cross done for on the front. Now I just have to do a few rounds of edging then the edging that holds the parts together and the decorative row of edging, sew on the cross, then figure out a way to put something go that it can be closed. I'm thinking just a loop and button.
I need to stop adding crochet groups to my facebook. I never do messages on facebook. I use it to see the pictures my kids and grands put up and then there's the crochet groupls that add patterns all the time. Well you know how much I need patterns.. I'll never even get a fourth of the patterns on my list made I'm sure but some are just so nice I can't resist downloading them.
Ginny, that's great that you have the baby afgan almost completely done or maybe it's even done by now. Your neice will love it.
Have a great day everyone!

Good evening! CJ- sounds like those ribs came out really well! Did you make enough so that you would have lots of leftovers?Sorry about the humidity, yes I agree it is a bit uncomfortable. Lets hope this passes quickly and we get a return to fall weather. So sweet that you think of us when you look at all those awesome projects online. Allfree crochet has such lovely patterns.... I enjoy looking at their emails also.
Ruth, yes it sure does take a lot of time keeping on top of multiple facebook groups. Computer time sure can eat up time from a day!! And so many people leave so many good posts. It amazes me how some manage to leave multiple messages on facebook every day.....it takes so much time!! You made good progress on the Bible cover. Its tough keeping track of so many patterns also....but with computer it makes it easier to organize them.
Finished the baby afghan today. Now just have to wash it and send it out! (baby is due in mid december, so I am done in plenty of time). Last night I got to Bible study- Pastors wife and I were the first 2 there. She asked me if I would attend a block of the month class with her next year....which I agreed to and am excited about.
Long day today, I worked this am, and then came home to babysit. Already told them I was not working tomorrow and need a day off....
Have a good night all G

Ginny, I agree, I think you need a day off also. Congratulations on getting the afgan done! Now you can start your other projects. Sorry about the humidity you both have. I really forgot how humidity is until I started going to Arkansas and it was unbearable after living here with no himidity for years so we would leave there every year when the humidity started to rise. Well I have two rows of edging left on this Bible cover which won't take long them I'm done. Either this evening or tomorrow I'll do the purse lining then I'll finish dgs' things and finish putting on the things that need to go on a couple pairs of fingerless gloves and start the prayer shawl. Today just turned 17 year old dgd sent me an email with two links to earwarmers/headbands that she likes and said they would make a good Christmas gift for her...well I havent sent them Christmas gifts in a few years..I send money to the parents and they use it for really great things for the kids or for the kids to do but you know what's going to happen. I'm making them . And of course if she mentions them or when they see hers the other girls are going to want some too so I'm sure earwarmers/headbands will be my next project after the above list gets done. Or I might start some as small project to take with me when I go places where I have to wait such as dh's eye doctor and blood draw. The fleece blankets just got moved down the list. Ok I'm going to go finish the Bible cover.

Good morning!
Ruth, were you able to finish the Bible cover last night? Hey, I love the way your 17 yr old DGD thinks- she sends patterns to you to make gifts for her (which you are going to make anyway) so now she gets what she really likes and you get to crochet for her! That sounds like a win win to me. You sure do have projects lined up!! Think we all like to have some smaller project that travels well- so those headbands and earwarmers do fit the bill. Back to the fleece blankets.....if the fleece is taking up that much room, see if you can get those new sew blankets done too. They are completely mindless, and the instructions are super simple, so you would, very quickly, be able to complete the blankets and get that fleece out of your home.
Slept well last night- or well enough. Not sure what Dh has planned for today so I will enjoy the quiet morning for now until he gets up. GInny

Good morning Ginny and all who come in later.
Ginny, yes we have to take advantage of those quiet moments so that we have some "me" time. Yes I did completely finish the Bible cover so today my goal is to finish some of the things I need to finish to send all to my family in INdiana. I have 4 birthdays to send, the Christmas tree skirt, and the fingerless gloves so a lot of packing will be involved once I get things ready for wrapping and packing. I do have the other gifts set out for wrapping so now to get the handmade things done. The fingerless gloves alone take up a whole box...there are plenty of extras but I know they can take the extras to church and that there are children sent there on a bus that sometimes are in need of warm clothing.
Just as an aside, I have the giraffe sitting on my living room couch right now and he is just so cute! I'm sure some of the others are going to want some similar animals after they see him
Ginny that definitely is a great idea about the fleece blankets. I don't know exactly how much fleece I have but it's a LOT! I need to get it out here where I can see it and work on it while watching tv or something. YOu're sure right that I need to work on that and fit it in between other things.

well here I am back on the computer. I had another thought to add to your's, Ginny. If I use the fleece and give the blankets I'll have those huge bins to use for yarn! I got my lining all cut out for the purse now just to sew.

Ruth, that sounds like a plan!!! Make those fleece blankets, which would be loved by either the mission, a local homeless shelter, your grandkids (GREAT for teenagers and college kids) or whomever. Makes lots of room as fleece takes up so much space. (Think the originator of the fleece blanket idea was CJ or Phyl, but I have made them and they go so quickly).
Looked for cheap mailers for the baby afghan this am in walmart....I can do better at dollar tree. It will not be mailed for awhile but I just want to be ready. Time to get more stuff in the attic. Ginny

Ginny, I never thought to look for mailers at Dollar Tree but they sure have some great buys for $1...Yes they have cheapy stuff too but they have a lot of things I use all the time including disposible dishcloths, good quality dishtowels, and great drying mats all for...well you know. and yes it's great to be ready to mail. Mostly for mailers I use the ones that I receive things in in the mail but sometimes you just don't have the right size or don't have one that looks nice enough to mail things in. And Ginny, I think the fleece that I'm going to make is even easier because I'm not going to do the tie one. I have directions that have been used by a friend of mine and Phyl's that worked great for her so I'm going to try that one.
Well the purse is done. I thought the hand sewing would take forever but it didn't. and I had the perfect button in my stash of buttons... I was shocked. I was thinking I would have to go to Walmart to get an appropriate button but I looked anyway and there it was!! I'm inspired now to finish some of the other things that need finishing touches. So now that it's after 1 and I haven't had breakfast yet I'm going to go have that and then get out the things I need to work on to finish those.

Ok, had breakfast and am now taking another break. I forgot about the tooth fairy pillow so after I got out the box of things that needed finishing I found it so I finished it. Had to make a face and then crochet it together and stuff it so now it's done too.
Back to work.Dh should be getting up from his nap soon. He's slept longer than usual so maybe I'd better go check on him
