Thanks sunrose49, He seems to be doing well. I told him he could cut his trip short rather than drive back to NY and then have the long flight, but he said he wanted to stay, so I guess he is doing ok. We'll probably get him to the doctor Saturday to check the staples and see when they can be removed.

Hello Everyone DotRen - I'm so sorry to hear about your son's accident. I hope that he will heal quickly with no problems. I'm sure it must be stressful for things to happen to him when he's far away. sunrose - Hope you enjoyed your weekend with friends. I'm way off track, it's crazy I have been writing down everything I eat, but not counting it up. I've also still been getting my steps and most of my water in, but not doing as well on vegetables and fruits. I hope I can get my mind back on track soon. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Good morning
DotRen, that's a good idea to take him to a doctor when he gets home.
cj59, at least you are still writing down what you eat!! I need to work on the v/f myself.

I have been eating the Halloween candy...ugh...bought it too soon. I have 4.2 pounds to lose to get out of the 200 range. It's not that much. I can do this!

I haven't bought any halloween candy yet. Typically we might see 1-2 kids! It's a quiet area and the general neighborhood is older, so not many kids around here.
I have been eating too much bread. I am semi-sensitive to gluten, so I get headaches when my system is overloaded.

Hello Everyone sunrose - I sure hope you can get those 4.2 pounds off, I know you'll try your best DotRen - I don't get any kids anymore, but I wouldn't open the door anyway just for safety reasons. Good for you not buying any candy so far I'm still eating really badly. I do get in my one hour of exercise (walking) every day and meet my step goals, but I still need to get my act together

Good morning
DotRen, I really don't get many kids here. Probably 10 at the most. Ugh I set myself up.
cj59, I sometimes don't answer the door. I just keep the lights off. I decided this year to give candy out. But next year it will be glow sticks!!

Met step goal yesterday. Will do the same today. I have joined an exercise challenge that starts 11/1 and ends Thanksgiving Day. I hope to get the 4.2 pounds off!

Good morning
DotRen, that's great your son made it home safely.
I am feeling some better today. So much junk in my chest. Got out for a mini walk with Maddie. Will do another one later.

*waving* Glad you're feeling better sunrose49 ,. I'm going with son this morning to get his staples removed. He was going to wait until Wed or Thurs, but it's itchy now. He has a few more days of work before his boss closes this center, and I'm sure wearing jeans is part of the itch problem. Hoping to get back on track today, diet and routine-wise. I bought a huge 4 pound bag of mixed greens (chinese mustard, turnip, chard and kale) and I'm trying to decide how to cook it in the instant pot. I found a recipe that looks good (below) but I can't see adding a cup of olive oil! Horta (Greens) and Potatoes in the Instant Pot

Staple removal was a no-go today. They said he needs to leave it unbandaged for a few days and come back Thursday, after it dries out a bit.

The greens turned out great. I used 2T olive oil, sauteed onions, lots of garlic and some leftover lean ham then tossed in the greens and 2 cups of low-sodium chicken bone broth (also leftover lol) and cooked in the instant pot on high pressure for 10 minutes, then let it natural release for 10 minutes. They turned out great- not too soft but tender. If you haven't tried walmarts "Sams Choice reduced sodium chicken bone broth", you should- it's very good
