I remember the "Alice" song . . . the last verse as I learned it was:
Alice . . . Jumped in the bathtub . . . and pulled out the plug. Alice . . . where are you going? . . . glug, glug, glug!
Had lunch with DD and delivered DMIL's nice HEAVY Kirby vacuum to her. She has carpet in her house; I just have area rugs, and I also have a cleaning lady who uses her own vacuum.
Had my nails done. Tomorrow is eye doctor and hairdresser (perm! yea!)
Just had a call asking me to organize a meeting of our cemetery board. Ugh! It's like herding cats!
Speaking of cats (again) honestly, clipping the claws is just like cutting fingernails. You can see the "quick," it's pink. You don't cut into the quick, but anything beyond that is fair game. And it's so easy! If a second person helps, one holds and the other pulls out the little paw and clips. If the kitten is too scared, wrap it in a towel covering it's little head. Much better than getting clawed! Again, none of my business. Each to his own.
Goodnight!

No tattoos for me either. Neither of my children have tattoos. I had my ears pierced when I was about 30. I haven't worn earrings for several years, but I think I will start doing so again.
hb is fairly mellow today. I saw the sleep doctor about my CPAP and went to the physical therapist. In between appointments I tried to visit a friend in assisted living, but the Hospice person was there. Then as I was leaving, I saw a friend who was visiting a mutual friend who wasn't there, so we sat in the Bistro for a while and caught up. Meanwhile on the home front, hb's caregiver was here. hb grumbles a lot on the best of days. His memory and physical condition are declining more rapidly.
PT is going well. Working on my back, specifically T11 and T12 where I had compression fractures about 15 years ago. By dinner time I have trouble fixing dinner. Mornings are usually fairly good. It's baby steps right now, but I know I can be better than I am.
Jenny, I hope your DH does well with his knee replacement. I've had both done with a very positive outcome. I can't kneel so that cuts into gardening as well as house cleaning, but otherwise everything is good.
Mollyann, I've never been to Missouri, other than driving through on a cross country trip, but my mother was born in Hardin. Recently, I've discovered lots of relatives and history connected to family by looking into genealogy. My grandfather was born in Independence, and my grandmother's relatives lived in Ray, Clay, and Carroll counties. They were part of a group of families that moved together from Kentucky. There is a house here in Montana, the next valley over that is the replica of a family house In Waukesha.
The wind has been blowing all day, and Autumn Leaves is playing through my head. Piano! The aspens in the front yard haven't turned gold yet! Maybe they'll just turn brown and fall off. We've had frost every morning for a week now.

Jenny: Glad your DH's surgery is over now will just keep praying for quick recovery. QOTD: No tattoos on me either. My DD's and my DDIL have ankle tattoos something about sisters...not big ones but they all can put up their pants and show their matching tattoos. No one else in our family has them either. I take both the dog and cat to have nails clipped every 2 weeks. Cocoa is overdue but will take her Thursday when Bobbie is not here because we didn't leave on Saturday this week to go to the beach house. We left on Sunday and the place was not open...so, Thursday is the day. They charge $5 and it is well worth it to me. I do know how to do the cat but not the dog so I just take them both in there.
Tucking you all in now in BLACK BLANKETS WITH AN ORANGE CIRCLE IN THE MIDDLE WITH A SMILING BLACK CAT....sweet dreams!
A Raking I will Go - Kathie ---- really need to do that...the leaves are finally coming down fast and furious.
