Good morning Ginny and all who come in later. Yes we do welcome newcomers. In fact we look forward to meeting you and hearing about your crafting. We all like to talk about what we've made and people sometimes have problems with their crafting and we'd like to help if we can.Crafting is a great way to fill our time and we can make beautiful things for ourselves and others. It's a very cold day today and it snowed a bit during the night. It's supposed to be warmer the rest of the week but warmer is not going to be very warm just warmer than the 26 degrees it is right now. I think I have all my ear warmers done. I just have to check and make sure I have all the sizes needed.I did make one for dgs with one tree on it and I know that one will fit him but the rest range from 17 years old down to just under 1 so I need a variety of sizes. Then I need to get busy and weave in all the ends. Some, thanfully I was able to crochet over but others either I wasn't able to do that or chose not to at the time Gotta go out twice this week and everyone knows how I just don't like to do that but one day will be picking up the license plates, post office, and Christmas shopping and the other will be grocery shopping and one of those two days I have to drive over and get that spare tire.I also want to stop at BK and get some chicken nuggets. I love fast food and they're having a sale. Hopefully it's still going on.I remind myself of an email I got that talks about someone stopping a complete stranger on the street and telling them all the details of their life...it's a reference to people doing that on Facebook. I blab a lot...not on FB but on here Ok I checked and I do have sizes for all so weaving in will be the order of the day..or hopefully just an hour or so

This morning I went to the chiropractor, the health club, the grocery store, and the podiatrist. All that and home before noon!
My three month emphasis on PT, the trainer, and the chiropractor is working. I am stronger and feeling better. I'm going to stop PT and swap the trainer for a class she teaches. The process is very gradual, and I have a long way to go. The class is designed for older people. I don't think I can do anything for an hour yet, but I'll get there.
The podiatrist took removed a painful callus on my big toe, so that may make it possible for me to walk more. The callus was caused by the sandal/boot I had to wear after my foot surgery in May and in turn caused other problems.
I've had lunch, so it's time to get back to the papers I'm working on. This is a major project.
The sun is shining, and the temperature was 8 degrees this morning, but the rest of the week will be better.

Well headbands are all done with ends woven in and all so now just have to decide what to work on next. One thing will be mittens. Then maybe the early start on early next year birthdays. There are 4 birthdays from Feb1st to March 16th then a break until August so it would be great to havee the birthdays done so that I can work on the other things want to work on. I also want to work on that plaid..it looks so complicated but it isn't really and the designer who started the plaid trend has a "plaid week" this week. Some things I won't be making but others are really nice.

Sue, you had a busy day!! Good news to hear that the process you are going through is working and you are feeling better. May the healing continue! Paperwork can be so time consuming. I have to work on that also.....and it will not be a short or easy task. As far as swapping the PT for the class, the instructor would never have suggested that unless she thought you were ready. Its good to hear.
Ruth, yes we do know how much you like leaving home. Ha ha ha. Sounds like you have some very productive errands though. I am glad to hear that all the headbands are done and you are looking for another project.Does this mean that you are ready to send out your Christmas package?Indeed you need to have those chicken nuggets- especially if they are a special deal. You do not often speak about splurging like that. Enjoy.
Going to ladies study group in a little bit but hope to work on the snowman ornament awhile before. Spent some time getting my Thanksgiving meal planned- and hope to get most of the shopping done for that soon. I was pleasantly surprised to get some paperwork done too- took a gamble that offices were open today and they were. Supposed to rain here tonight and then get really cold.
Have a good night all Ginny

howdy, this am I went down and started cleaning my playpen and my over flow room.I have to much stuff.
the overflow room use to be margie's bedroom. now don has his dry sauna in there.I also have our old long kitchen table in there. that is where I do extra cutting or sewing on my little class machine.
well tomorrow is my in clinic procedure, after lunch.this one must be
different then the one I had last year.
last year the radiologist did it. I got to watch on the computer. . all I could see is where they stuck the needle in the groin.that was for the right hip.
the paper I read said I would be on my stomach and it would take 45 minutes.also list all the side effects.hope I don't have any.nita and I have one last road trip planned before the bitter cold and snow come.
don was outside in the garage for awhile. not sure why.came in and said we are not going anywhere tonight it is really cold and windy. phyl

PHyl, I think we all have too much stuff. I do for sure. My craft cave is overflowing and there are craft supplies in my living room and bedroom also. Then there's all the non craft things we have too much of. What is this procedure for Phyl. Sounds like a back procedure or a bone marrow test but then you said right hip. Well for a bone marrow biopsy it's pretty much the hip also. I didn't think it took that long though.Anyway, prayers for a good outcome whichever it is.
Sue I don't have much paper work to contend with so I'm really happy about that because I'm not very good with paperwork and never have been even at work.
Ginny, I hope you have a good Bible study. It's great to get together in groups to study and discuss what you're studying.I think that most offices were open today except for those associated with government. That's why I couldn't get my license plates today because the treasurer's office, which takes care of those things, not the motor vehicle dept strangely, was closed. I didn't intend to go today anyway though because of the cold and snow.My dh mentioned a package coming and I told him it wouldn't be today because of the holiday but next thing you know UPS was putting the package on the porch... mostly our packages come in the mail even iforiginally sent by UPS. It's great that you're getting Thanksgiving dinner planned and have plans to get everything bought and ready. I'm not sure what we'll be doing for Thanksgiving but undoubtedly will go to dd's house but probably won't eat there. It gets dark too early so we'll go earlier and leave before dinner.
Ginny, it's not really a Christmas box. I send money for their Christmas presents but it's just a little extra thing for them since they love getting boxes so much. Nice thing is they will fit into a very small box or padded bag or maybe even into the smallest flatrate box. I'll weigh them to see what would be cheapest. No sense helping the USPS anymore than I have to. CJ. well the Holiday Baking show should be on now so hopefully you're watching and enjoying it.
I hope you all have a great week.

Good evening!
Phyl- I pray for calm nerves for you and that the procedure goes easily with minimal side effects. Knowing what is ahead of you is a good idea, but keep your focus on your faith and that you are never alone....praying for a good outcome for you!
Ruth, glad your package is pretty much ready to go....I am also a fan of those flatrate boxes and bags. What a nice surprise that UPS delivered today!! No, I am not that organized with my Thanksgiving meal, just trying to put up a good front! Ha ha ha
Study was a small group tonight but good.
Gonna go work on Mr Snowman. I think I can finish all the white tonight- and tomorrow get the outlining done and finish it off. Its coming out cute all in all Ginny

Hello everyone, I didn't get a lot done today. I went to a Mexican restaurant for lunch today with a group of ladies form church. This morning I watched the Hallmark channel for a little while. They have a program where they are presently demonstrating Christmas crafts and baking. I have just recently started watching Hallmark it is a nice change of pace from all the ugliness on some of the other channels. They have the Holiday Spirit.
I am now wearing my winter clothes as it as is much cooler. I am glad I don't have to deal with the snow.
phyl, good luck with your procedure on Tue. Don is a wise man to stay at home when it is cold and windy.
Sue, I am glad you got the callus removed. There is nothing worse than sore feet.
Ruth, like you I like to stay home and if I can put something off until the next day if I can get away with it. I have been doing better lately and I have been getting out more. I saw a program on TV last week about a Dr. who was treating patients who were 600+ pounds. I think that has inspired me to move more because I am quite content to sit in my recliner.
Ginny, you did a good job getting us started today with your definition of crafting. Whether we attract new posters or not we have a good group here.
cj, I hope you enjoyed Poldark last night.
I am off to read for awhile. good night all.

Good morning!
Meg, glad you stopped in to visit! Sounds like you had a really nice day. GUess it would be nice if this group of ladies from church got out for lunch regularly, then you could meeti with them when you like. Hope you had a great time. Thanks fort the heads up on the Hallmark channel and their daytime programming! Think I will see what programs they have during the day Wednesday or Friday- both those days I am planning some down time and perhaps time working on the table runner. I totally agree, its nice to find something happy to watch on TV. The elections are over (or should be!) it would be nice if the news found something pleasant to report on. That will not happen, so I will watch Hallmark!
Still have a little to do on the snowman- I hope to start the outlining tonight.
Babysitting for the little one today....
Oh! The definition of crafting came about (again) this time because Sue mentioned last week that she had done no “crafting” that day and wondered if it was ok. I then remembered our wonky definition and thought that maybe others were not posting because they had not crafted in a while.... so I figured I would resurrect the definition. No, I am super happy with the group we have here now, and if we gained no additional posters am really happy with that.
Ok, gotta get in the shower. Have a great day Ginny

good morning,
ruth the procedure is called a sacroiliac joint injection.they will use a fluoroscope camera to shoot lidocaine and cortisone in me.
then I am to take it easy the rest of the day. so will watch tv,read and maybe knit.
I thank all of you for your well wishes. when I put hannah on the bus it was 19 outside.the wind was not blowing so that temp did not feel to bad.
ginny what kind of snowman are you doing?
both hallmark channels are showing Christmas movies. they started oct.26th. the program meg watched I think is the home and family one. that program is on in the mornings here.
I know it is early for the christmas movies. sure is refreshing not to watch shoot em up,killing, type programs. don't watch those at all.I do like the good doctor.
r
we like the movie the christmas card the best.and another one I like is a boyfriend forchristmas. they don't show that one to much anymore. phly

Phyl, I'm glad your procedure went well. Yes I'm familiar with that SI joint injection. There was a woman on the journaling thread on the WW board that used to get them too. I know my dh needs those but the doctor said he had to try PT first and he won't try PT because it's too painful.
Well got out and did errands It was much warmer today...got to at least 50 and sunny and just a little wind. Strange here because for your driver's license you go to a place called Port of Entry. For license plates and registration you go to the country treasurer's office. So today I had to go to Treasurer's but to two rooms. First the title room then the room where you actually get your license plates or tabs. YOu also have to pay the sales tax on your vehicle there so it came to a LOT of money because registration is based on vehicle factory sticker price.Luckily our sales tax is only 5%. I also got my old car registration renewed as it expires at the end of this month and since my dgs says he's coming to get it in the spring I needed to have it registered so that he can drive it home. Now if he doesn't end up getting it I've wasted money because I not only wouldn't have had to pay for the registration but I could have saved money by transferring the license plates from that car to the new one.OH well.
Got my Christmas shopping done and went to the dollar store to pick up some nice kitchen items they sell and some trinkets for the grandchildren for those "extra" gifts.
So tomorrow may be grocery shopping or it may be running over to get the spare tire.I did forget that I needed to stop at the post office to mail the headbands so will take care of that some other time. Then Thursday or Friday we'll do whichever errand we don't get to tomorrow.
This evening I will sit and crochet, read and a couple other things. I hope all of you had a good day and have a great evening too

Hello everyone, Another smoke y day here. the air is full of smoke which Is irritating my eyes and Devin has a sore throat. I understand that the fire in LA has broken out in another area. It is very sad that so many lives have been lost and homes destroyed. Fortunately we just have the smoke to deal with.
Ginny I hope you are enjoying today with the baby. I will stay home and avoid the bad air. The group I had lunch yesterday meets once a month and I usually go when I can. I have just started watching Hallmark and it is very cheerful. I have really cut back on a lot of my TV watching. I think we can expect a lot of political fighting for the next 2 years and I don't want to listen to it.
phyl, I am glad your procedure went well and that you are now taking it easy in your PJs today. Yes it is early for Christmas movies but I don't have to watch them all. I Find that the story line for many of them is much the same. But they are a nice change.
Ruth, I need to go grocery shopping this week but keep putting it off. I have got so used to my DS helping me and sometimes DGD that I don't do my big shopping by myself anymore so I have to wait until one of them is available. I do go by myself to one of the neighborhood stores if I am desperate.
cj and Sue, I hope you are both gaving a great day.
Stay warm everyone.

Good evening,
Phyl, thats an answer to prayer that you got through the procedure ok and are home resting. I hope you were not too uncomfortable during the procedure and that it greatly improves your quality of life. Rest up, enjoy some Hallmark channel movies....
Ruth- sounds like a productive day for you! Guess you had to shell out a ton of cash paying for the registration and sales tax. Lets just hope that DGS still wants the car, so that portion of what you paid is not in vain. Its a good idea to get that spare tire picked up before true winter weather sets in- which will happen soon enough. Glad you got your CHristmas shopping done! That is a relief for sure.
Meg, indeed the Hallmark channel movies are pleasant and- the best part is- not nasty. (Unlike our politics). I have not watched much news today- but do hope that they are able to contain more and more of the fire each day. Its so sad....so many lives lost and the first responders face such danger. Stay inside and out of the smoke- which must not be healthy to inhale.
The snowmen I am making are plastic mesh needlepoint. Just gotta do the outline stitch and put the backing on and I have one done. There are many color changes on these so they are not all that easy.
Gonna watch a movie.....have a good evening Ginny
