Ginny, I haven't seen it but it sounds as though your table runner will be very beautiful. I know you can wait to finish it so that you can use it Yes young men can sure sleep through anything. I remember when my son who just turned 38 yesterday was still at home. His alarm would go off and he would be sleeping like a log.
Sue no snow here althought the forecaster told us to expect some. It's going to be very cold here this coming week though. I was never one for any winter sports but we did take the children sledding and all that. I would never, ever ski down a mountain. I don't know if our ski area is open or not but I would think not a we not have much snow. I'm sure there's more on the mountail as it looks pretty covered but I'm not sure it's enough to ski.
Phyl you alway do so many nice things for others.
There were people who posted some really awful things on a board where they have supposed messages of condolence to the Bush family. I think that's inexcusable. I would never post mean message to even the ones I've intensely disliked.
Ginny, even some young women at in the waiting room at the doctor's office have told me their life stories and they were people I had never met. I must have "empathetic person" written on my forehead.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all enjoying your weekend Meg - I'm glad to hear you are doing some crafting and hope you find a pattern for the new afghan. Ginny - I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the class and I hope your tablerunner turns out like you want it to. Sue - I love the powdery snow the best. Ruth - I always try to remember the old saying "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything", but this new "social" world we live in without face to face interactions give people more freedom to think they can just say whatever they want even if it's mean. This is one of the reasons I try to limit my Internet interactions. Phyl - Pat Sloan is offering two new quilt alongs in 2019, a weekly one and a block of the month. Here are links to info on them: www.ilovetomakequilts.com/a-flower-bouquet.html - weekly. She has some unusual color combinations in her fabrics, just my opinion blog.patsloan.com/2019-out-of-this-world/ - her "spaceship fabric is interesting for this one I don't think I'll do any quilt alongs next year, I have too many unfinished projects to get involved in anything new It's raining here today, but a bit milder than it's been. I think we're supposed to get colder weather in the week ahead. I made another Applesauce Raisin snack cake today, it used up the eggs and applesauce I had and I think that's the last one I'll make this year. I have enjoyed them. Take care everyone!

Yes, Sue your window sounds so simple but lovely, Enjoy! I agree with your assessment of President Bush 41. Actually Phyls assessment too. They were very down to earth people. Perhaps not the best politicians or president but decent people.
Yes phyl, we used the heated tool to apply the sparkles. It works well and the extra small sparkles look so pretty.
Well, Dd#2 got engaged this afternoon. She should be here in about an hour with her fiancee ....they went out to dinner. Oh I dread planning another wedding. Dd#1 wedding had a bit too much drama for me. But DD#2 is not a drama queen.....lets hope this goes more smoothly. I also hope they do not want a wedding this summer. Not ready for all that planning.....oh dear, I am sorry I do sound selfish. Ginny

Ruth and CJ- sorry the third page had not loaded.
Yes, Ruth, I too have had people unload a whole lifetime of hurt on me. You have a kind heart and it must show....
CJ- Pat sloan sure has some interesting ideas! I agree her use of color is different. Very striking. And I completely agree with what you said that if you cannot say anything nice about someone, then saty nothing at all. Ok to say what you want on a political blog, but not a friendly forum like this G

Congratulations and best wishes to the happy couple! yes I do hope it all goes smoothly for them and for you and no, I don't think you're being selfish at all.. I think you want to be able to take your time and have your dd take her time and be sure everyone is happy...all the important people that is.
Well Ginny, you certainly are a kind hearted person so I'm not surprised people feel able to talk to you about things.

Good morning!
Yes, Dd got engaged last night- she and her fiancee seem very very happy. As of right now they have no specific wedding plans. Personally I would like to see them wait until summer of 2020- that way she can be done with her masters and focus on being a married woman.
Off to church BBL Ginny

Hello Crafters Ginny - Congratulations to your DD on her engagement. I hope the planning for this wedding is less stressful for you. I love wedding "stuff", but I know people can get a little crazy because there are so many emotions and opinions involved. It was foggy and damp here this morning, but starting to clear up some. I rarely go out on the weekend but I got up early and went to do some shopping. Target has a special today only that their gift cards are 10% off. You can buy up to a maximum of $300. I bought $200 worth and saved $20 - a really great deal - free money! I usually send these cards to a few family members that live out of state. Traffic was light and there weren't a lot of people in the stores and I was back home by 10:00 A.M., so it worked out well. I'll be checking out the Slow Stitching Sunday blog today, otherwise, not any actual crafting for me. But I did put out some fabric for the borders on the Solstice quilt and I just need to press and starch the fabric so I can cut the strips. Hoping to do that soon. Take care everyone!

An engagement is exciting! Congratulations to them and to you as well.
The sky is blue, and the temperature is 17 degrees. No snow is in the forecast for ten days. I see lows in the single digits next week. It's time to dig my boots out of the closet as well as wool socks. My right foot isn't ready for being captured inside a boot yet. I may have to cut one of my older boots to make more room for my toes.

CJ- that sounds like an awesome deal you got at Target! Gee, you were going to buy these gift cards anyway- extra great that you saved $20. (You can use that to buy more fabric! . Sometimes just having out the fabric ready to work on is an inspiration. Its just so neat to see the patterns and colors....and dream of how very neat its all going to look in your project. Sounds like a successful day for you! Hey, did you by any chance, see the Hallmark channel movie last night? As we were waiting for Dd and her fiancee to get here I did not put it on and forgot to DVR it. Wondering if it was any good. Sue- 17 degrees sure sounds like time to get out the winter weight socks and boots. Hope you can adapt a boot to accomodate your toes... Thanks for the congrats on DD.Dd#1 can be a bit of a drama queen, and her 4 sister in laws are all very high maintenance, high drama women. I begged Dd #1 not to have all of them in the bridal party- and she did anyway. That and the natural manner of Dd’s MIL- well we paid for the wedding and Dd’s MIL pretty much thought she ran it herself. DD#2 is very different, and not a dramatic person at all. I am hoping that even though her fiancees family is huge, we can keep this a large but simpler affair. Gotta go try get a walk in G

hi girls, congratulations on the up coming wedding.
I agree I have to many ufo's projects of my own to start any of pat sloan's for now.
I have two bom's from the guild that I started a few years go and have not got back to them. dosen't mean some day I won't.LIKE THEY SAY NEVER SAY NEVER.
Today was church. sure a far cry from when us older ones weer in charge years ago.
not worth going to again.
there is a sunday I want a donut or roll will stop at the kwik trip store.
after church we came home, change, and went to olive garden for soup salad and breadsticks.
then it was the mall. I bought gloria another snowman. this one is short and kinda looks like it will be a woman.
I was a slug yesterday from not sleeping friday night.so I tried to sleep in my chair with the tv on. usually works this time no. so I watched all the epasoides of christmas bake off. I was hoping alberto would win. no mauve won.at she seemed to be jealous if an other person won the bake off for that segmant. she should could be a whiner at times and turn on the tears. I know she went through something medical could not hear what it was. some kind of cancer I think.
the winter wonderland movie might be ok. I kinda click ed on it during ommericals. phyl

Well we ended up not getting uc snow at all. It is still snowing but very lightly. It was very cold though and will be at least all this coming week.
I've been working on dgs' neck warmer. it's a simple pattrn but it's taking forever. I'll be making an earwarmer to match and the same for sil. I'm going to give dd one of the mountainland scarves I made and will also work on the neckwarmer for dgd (have the earwarmer to go with it done) and the little mousy hood for dggd and put her doll together unless I start another that is made in one piece. Depends on how fast I get the other stuff done. The only one over there that ever thanks me is my dd then she tells me the others thank me but I really doubt they say anything at all. Still I do it because I know then that I did my part.
Have a good evening everyone and happy movie watching

Ruth, I am sure that others appreciate your wonderful crochetted items....but you are right, many do not vocalize their thanks and hope it is ok to assume.. A heartfelt thankyou makes all the difference in the world, and provides the inspiration to work on a less than user friendly pattern.
Phyl- guess the church service you attended was super casual? THat seems to be the way things are now....most churches are very lax and allow all kinds of behavior and dress that would never have been acceptable in the 60’s.
Hard to believe a new week begins tomorrow G
