Good Morning All! Happy Saturday!
Today is my last Saturday of teaching yoga at Shapes. I have been teaching there 7 years...so it is bittersweet. I hope some of them will follow me. Three of them are coming to my Vision Board Yoga Workshop.
It is a beautiful day out today! Sending some Florida sunshine and warmth to those in the cold. Stay warm and stay safe!
I am also looking forward to my DGS's basketball tournament this afternoon.
Jane, I had to laugh when you almost missed bridge when you were power cleaning your bedroom. I often get sidetracked with a big project, too. You should be very proud of yourself for all you have accomplished. Do be careful though.

Good morning friends. Ruth thanks for starting us off. I am sure you have mixed feelings at giving up the yoga at Shapes. Still its exciting you have the new workshop.
Jane I believe you have inspired me to do some cleaning. I've been unhappy at the disorganization and crumbs in the kitchen cabinets lately. Well, duh Sharon, clean them out!
Don is better. After the shot he is getting around without cane or walker and will be ready for rehab Monday.
Sandy has the snow started yet? And you must be getting excited to see family. You are blessed.
I had two breakfasts this morning already, it's my hungrier time of the day. Soy yogurt (just OK) with blueberries and bran buds for crunch. WW toast with 1/2 Tbsp peanut butter And a small tangerine Now I should be good until lunch.
Is there a nut butter or peanut butter that doesn't have hydrogenated oils or palm oil? Maybe Marla knows.

Greetings: we are breaking heat records here. Yesterday was the warmest. 84.
DH had been having gas with all of the Mexican food we have been eating with DS and family here. So I have been looking up gas and dealing with it.
I've had a cherished belief that one was supposed to drink with meals. Water primarily but other fluids. And I'm reading that fluids with meals can actually cause gas! Putting fluids down with food interrupts the stomach acids and digestion. We will test it.
I've also read that charcoal is pretty good. We will be trying that, too.
QOTD: As we continue on this journey of life have you learned anything contradictory to what you always believed was right? Is there anything that my above revelation might cause you to look up?
AOTD: See above.
At 4:58 last night we signed off on the documents for most of our house options. We had to be done by 5.
We finish up on Wednesday with the next round. Our family goes home Tuesday morning so we have a day to go through the rest of the choices.
Monday is my Prolia shot. 2 pm. Back in the infusion clinic because there was just too much going on here to arrange anything else.
Our TV is dying. All kinds of poor screen view. I did not want to buy a new tv. I Hope that old one of Mom's works temporarily. Then we'll see if we want it in the office.
Exercise class this morning!

Sharon, I feel your frustration with the cabinets. Yesterday when we returned from Publix there was no place to put anything in the pantry, so I cleaned it out. It was so disorganized that couldn't find anything. Once I cleaned it out and organized it I was able to pitch some outdated canned goods, dressings, etc. It looks so good now that I want to keep the pantry doors open. LOL
BBL to answer QOTD.

Back from my meeting and I lost 1.4! Definitely will take it and hope it gives me the incentive to be very careful on all the eating out this week but not stressing about it. One thing I have decided is no take home box. Since eating out four dinners I certainly don't need to bring home leftovers to be tempted again.
Roads were just wet this morning but the parking lot was icy so I'm glad Fred decided to take me. We only had 18 people there so it was a good meeting as more people opened up and talked about issues and temptations which helped all of us.
Getting the rest of the laundry done and cleaning the bathroom as definitely not going out again! But waiting on the floors until tomorrow as the pups will just track them all up again!
Bailey has stopped scratching at her ears so she has been catching up on her sleep. Wish I could say the same but I think the cold is a head cold and nothing is helping so guess it'll be chicken soup and tea as the steam from hot things seems to help.
Sharon they say if we get the snow it'll only be about an inch. The worst day will be tomorrow with a high of 3 and wind chills in the -20's.

Yeah, Don! So good that he is getting relief and able to be mobile on his own.
I am making Fatyir today to take skiing with us. My DSIL requested it. He loves it so much. While I am cooking, DH is wrapping gifts to take to N.J. He just took some to mail at the Post Office because we will not be able to haul them all since we are bringing our gifts to each other, as well. We do stocking stuffers, my favorite part of Christmas gifting, so there is a lot of little stuff.
It is snowing like crazy here. We are supposed to go to Fast Walker's for dinner. We'll see since the snow is supposed to turn to ice.
Karen: You sound SO BUSY! You are a trooper for handling it all.
Ruth: Usually the end of something is the beginning of something else.
Sandy: How is the snow in Illinois? My Minnesota relatives tell me they have a whopper of a start to winter. I wish our GKDs were here to sled on the hill.
Jane: I wish I could feed off your inspiration. All I'm doing right now is making a bigger mess!!! Inspire me again when the dust settles on all of our visits.
Where is Gail?
I think my dough has risen so I need to get back in the kitchen!
Karen: I'll have to give your QOTD some thought.
Take care today during this hurry up time of year!
Ann

Hello all. I did not realize that I was not on this board yesterday I guess I am pushing myself a little hard. I had a Christmas lunch yesterday with a group of ladies in the area. It was a covered dish and a dirty santa gift exchange which I was organizing. I baked a sour cream cake with chopped walnuts and a cranberry swirl ( used home made cranberry sauce). I baked it with light sour cream and made cake and cranberries with truvia with it was not bad. I had a very thin lice and most of it was gone. I brought home about four slices which I will take into work this afternoon. Mailing home made candies to in-laws in PA and a baby afghan to great niece in LA then a Veggie burger at home for lunch and then off to work. I worked this morning on another chair cover for neighbor. This is the last one before Christmas. I should finish this evening. Tomorrow is church, lunch with DD #1 and then off to Tropicana for a little slots and a night in a boutique hotel. Breakfast Monday morning and straight home to get back into the swing of Christmas. Baking starts Monday and I will give most of it to neighbors. DD #2 will take home large tray home and share at the office. We don't have a chance of snow, but maybe extreme storms this evening as the temperature has risen overnight and should be 70 by this afternoon when the storms arrive. Sunday much colder and a change of a winter mix in the early a.m. Wow - we should see it all in the next 24 hours. Hoping it doesn't hamper the trip to IN tomorrow afternoon.

Wow Geri I guess you are getting all four seasons! Be safe. Sandy I am glad so far the weather your way has not been so bad; I hope it continues.
And Sandy excellent weight loss! Good for you; you are an inspiration to me.
QOTD: As we continue on this journey of life have you learned anything contradictory to what you always believed was right? Is there anything that my above revelation might cause you to look up? AOTD: Yes, lots of things: First coffee is bad for you then good for you. Eggs were bad for you then they are good for you. Hydrogentated oils are bad for you, but are still in peanut butter unless you get one with palm oil, which is another problem. (I found some online with neither, just peanuts, so I'll look for that in the store. Lots of water are good for you, unless you are like me and drink too much and throw your electrolytes out of balance. It's an ongoing learning process.
Ann I assume a fatyir is a Lebonese bread??
Well I did not clean this morning. Don and I went to the mall and walked. Yes, he felt like walking but took the cane to get out of the car with and to handle curbing. We got all the way to the end of the mall and at Sears he bought a small peddle exerciser that you use setting in the chair. While there we looked at Christmas trees. He agreed to a small one and we went to Michaels to get the $25 one and it was now $l4.99. So Karen E, we will get to set in the living room with the lights out tonight and watch the tree sparkle. Just like old times, well almost.
While at the mall I was surprised to see it very busy, lots of shoppers and hustle and bustle. The news had reported malls are hurting in leau of Amazon and other online shopping. I was pleased to see our little mall doing well today.
Now to the cupboards to clean.

Sharon, I looked because I'm trying to find something for DH. Here's an interesting site and there are others. www.health.com/food/best-nut-buttersSounds like something happened with Don. Glad to read he's doing better. Interesting to read about pantries. Next week I want to go through pots and pans and pantry. So. ..how long can you hold onto cookie decorations? I expect to use them when we move but some of these sugar sprinkles have to be 20 years old. Are they still good? Or should I dump?

Karen thanks for the link. Very good selection.
Karen now is the time to toss ALL spices, sprinkles and colored sugars. Unless you just bought them with the last year or two.
Treat yourself to some bright and tasty new ones. I ordered from Penzey's when I moved. You will be surprised the the difference in quality no matter where you get new ones. And yes 20 years is just nasty.
I still haven't gotten to the cupboards. I decided to clean the fridge. There was some dried blood and it was way more extensive than I thought after removing the glass panel over the crispers. Yuck.

Fatyir (lebanese meat and spinach pies) are done, well the lamb pies are done. I have to make the spinach pies tomorrow. Next I have to make a Lebanese avacado dip to take to Fast Walkers. We are also bringing my strawberry rubarb sauce to put over vanilla yogurt for dessert.
Geri: It is so easy to feel overwhelmed this time of year. I feel like I am running out of time. All of our gifts are wrapped, mailed or packed except the ones we have for each other so that is a good thing.
I have more cooking to do for the ski trip. I'm trying to figure out when I can make thumb print cookies for little c; she loves them so much. I made split pea soup the other day which they all love. The food at the ski areas is sub par and very expensive so I haul as much as I can. DSIL pays for the Air BnB lodging and we take care of the food and wine.
I agree with Sharon's answer to the QOTD; what is healthy one day is not necessarily healthy the following week. I think keeping a balance in one's diet is important. I keep wondering if Americans eat too much sugar, too much fat, too much fast food and are too over weight, why are Americans living so much longer? I'm not advocating eating those things, burt...one has to wonder.
I am pooped. I need to clean up my many messes throughout the house. This place is really out of control!
Karen: I've forgotten, when do you actually move?
I tossed out an old frying pan today. I pulled it out to cook with it and thought, I know I can do better than this. I have a few frying pans so out that old battered one went. I use my cast iron frying pans the most. I'm trying to do that with everything, books, clothes, dishes, towels. I need to be ruthless.

Good afternoon friends.
I went to a fabulous retirement/Christmas party from work last night. One of my favorite receptionists ever was retiring (she was working at the meeting I attend Sundays when I returned to WW with 100 pounds to lose and was wonderful…very supportive). And the Christmas party was amazing. One of the best things about working for WW is the terrific people I work with.
Two women who got to goal at the meeting I attend as a member are now working for WW and were at the party, so my Sunday AM meeting was well represented.
Everyone made something WW friendly. The food was delicious. We played a few crazy but fun games.
