Good morning!
Note to CJ- Dd and I watched the GABS- “On Demand” last night and we really enjoyed it!! Thanks for an excellent recommendation...we did not make it through all of the second episode but will get to that this weekend.
Ruth think we all bought sashay yarn at one time or another. I made a few scarves out of it, of course now they are out of style. I wonder if you could make a macrame type home decorative item out of it? Of course would depend upon the color.
Sue, well glad your visit to the dentist was ok...and am glad that aleve fixed any residual discomfort. Its so frustrating when dental work seems to go on and on.....personally been there, done that.
Today looks to be busy but I am not working.
BBL. Hi to Meg, and Phyl- who must be travelling. Hope CJ is having a good day too! Ginny

I've seen those things advertised that turn a wall outlet into something that will allow USB port intended plugs into the wall outlet and do the charging.
I made a couple of those scarves when they were instyle...one for dd and one for ddil. I did find an insert in the box of yarn saying there was sashay included as a free gift and they suggested using it as gift wrap but I'm not going to do that. There are still several suggestions online for using it.
I'm getting a little behind schedule. I didn't really feel like crocheting last evening so I didn't do much of it so need to get going on that and the few Christmas cards and wrapping of the few gifts we still give. Lot's less than in the past.
I'm praying for safe travel for Phyl.

Hello Crafters Sue - Thanks for the info on the power strip. Next time I go out I'm going to look for a few. Ginny - I know for the GABS they are running 2 shows each night, so that one will definitely end quickly. The show on the Food Network does seem to go quickly, I guess they try to show it from before Thanksgiving until before Christmas. Thanks for the pattern. I used the last of my frozen strawberries (frozen from fresh) yesterday and today I'm stewing the rest of the frozen rhubarb I have. I don't like to keep these things more than about 6 months or so. I do enjoy the stewed rhubarb and I added a few frozen strawberries and some sugar. It's still tart though, but good. I'm going to cool it and eat it on some vanilla yogurt. Have a great day!

CJ, I used the remainder of my frozen strawberries last week and never did have any rhubarb in the freezer this year. Next year I guess I'll have to be brave and ask the neighbor for some. Strawberrys and rhubarb are good separately but together they're even better.

Well I still have some frozen blueberries in my freezer! Better make some blueberry muffins for Dh as he loves them.
CJ- Dd and I watched all of one episode and only part of the second, before we turned it off. Dd and I will get back to watching it this weekend. Yes the show is going so quickly. And yes, I agree 6 months in the freezer is pretty much long enough.
Ruth, I have not had any momentum to craft either and am also getting behind. What do you want to finish for gift giving?
Started my Christmas cards....and they take time too! Little by little I will finish them. Today I mailed the baby afghan I finished in September to my niece, who delivered her baby on Tuesday. Glad that is done and on the way.
Yes, I sure hope that Phyl is having a safe and happy trip. Meg we miss you and hope you are doing well! Sue, how is your day going? Ginny

I forgot that I have some frozen cherries in my freezer. I also have frozen blueberries like you do Ginny, only mine came from the grocery store freezer. Cherries were fresh. So mine are also reaching the 6 month point. The blueberries were not very good ones. It was a large bag and I used a few but wasn't happy with them.
What I want to get finished is two earwarmer headbands and I got one of those done today. I'll finish the other tonight, Then just have to sew things that need sewn like the ears on the bunny hood, buttons maybe on some earwarmers, put the doll together, weave in ends and then all will be done for Christmas as far as crochet projects go..then the cards, wrapping of gifts, etc. Still haven't put out the tree or nativity set since there's no place to put them in our "winter quarters" and we are rarely upstairs to see them anyway.DS has received the check I always send them and they received the Christmas tree headbands.
Phyl, I hope you've arrived safely in Ky and are enjoying that hottub.
Meg, How is everything going with you.
Sue, are you getting more snow? It was supposed to snow here today but so far none. Looks like we will get some thru the night though.
Have a good evening all

No snow here today, but it was windy.
I had an appointment with the PA in sleep studies. I'm better at using my CPAP but need to do better. After that I did some grocery shopping and filled my car with gas.
Tomorrow is quilting group day and our Christmas potluck. I made an apple dump cake. I'm taking some ceramic mini ornaments that I made several years ago. I used cookie cutters for the patterns ... candy canes, stars, moons, ornaments, stockings. They're a bit on the rustic side! I think that's a euphemism for amateurish! There's an informal non mandatory exchange of handmade items like a coaster, dishcloth or a plant cutting. Next year I'm going to take crocheted icicle and star ornaments.

Hello Ruth, Ginny, Phyl, cj and Sue. I have mainly been puttering around getting odds and ends done. I am not sending Christmas cards this year though I may send a few but not like I have done for many years. I have arthritis in my hands and I don't like writing anymore than I have to. Today I stayed at home but I haven' done any crafting for a couple of days. DS has decorations up inside & out which makes Devin happy.
My DGD gave me a cordless head phone set and I can listen to books anywhere in the house and not worry about the cord . I also wont get my yarn tangled up in the cord when I am crafting and listening to a book while I work. I will probably do some crocheting tonight.
Have a good evening.

I really like potlucks. It's so much fun seeing what all foods people bring. Your ornaments should be a big hit, Sue
Meg, those headphones sound really wonderful. What a great thing to have so you can move around freely and still listen to your book.

Good morning everyone. I hope it's a good day for everyone
I found some recipes this morning in my email from Hungry girls (usually her recipes are weird so I never make them). They're for muffins and instead of flour you use ground oatmeal which makes them gluten free...yay... I can have muffins again. I guess I could have looked up a recipe before this. These muffins are anywhere from 1-3 points.Points for the new program of WW. So Im going to make some. such a coincidence after Ginny mentioned blueberry muffins yesterday. However I think I'll make either the apple ones or the cranberry orange. Cranberry have 103 calories or 3 pts while the apple has only 88 cals and 1 pt.Since I usually have a bowl of oatmeal I could have two muffins for the same calories.
Got that headband done last night but I found that I made a mistake in that I did only a hdc iin the first few rows rater than dc but hey, I hate being a sloppy crocheter, but who's going to notice that esp once I get the cinching in the middle done.
Today I'll either try to get my craft room in order or finish these projects or do Christmas cards. I think I'll start with craft room

Just lost two more posts...try, try again
Hi, I'm Ruth and I'm a yarn addict..hahahaha.. I've been working on my craft room and each time I think I'm getting some order I realize I have even more yarn still in the living room. Good project for after Christmas
I'm trying to find an earwarmer pattern that will go with that mountainland scarf. She doesn't have a hat or earwarmer to go with it though so I'll have to search for something that looks close. I dont have the patience right now to devise one myself

Quilting was fun. The potluck was yummy! Our hostess has some very creative holiday decorations. Many of them were made by her DMIL in past decades which makes for good stories and better memories.
I'm planning to read this afternoon and will probably close my eyes for a few minutes ... just to rest them for a while, of course.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - Good luck with getting your cards done, I haven't even started yet! I'm sure your niece will love that baby blanket. Meg - Those earphones sounds wonderful, what a useful gift. Ruth - I'm glad you found a GF muffin recipe - I hope they taste wonderful. My name is CJ59 and I'm a quilting fabric addict Sue - I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the quilting and the potluck. Phyl - Check out these embroidered barn blocks, from those patterns that you and I liked: catpatches.blogspot.com/2018/12/oh-happy-day.htmlShe did a really great job on these. I love the colored quilt barn block. I visited my SIL today (the one that quilts) and she and my brother gave me an early Christmas gift: quiltricks.com/Patterns - Look for Santa's Sentries - Nutcrackers and Tree She is excellent at applique and the small 3 piece mini quilt is beautiful. I admire her work so much. They gave me the hanger too so I'll have to see about making some mini quilts to hang on it after Christmas. It was cloudy and cool here today, the rain is coming tomorrow and the weekend. They are saying what we get this weekend will put us over the yearly record rainfall totals since 1889!! For those talking about the frozen fruit, I have to make a list of what I have in my fridge and freezer with expiration dates, otherwise I'd be throwing away food. I already used the frozen (fresh) blueberries a few months back. So all my summer fruit I froze is used now. Take care everyone!
