Ruth, well just add that table topper to your list of projects that you want to accomplish. Think you just moved a lot of your crafting supplies, and have spoken about doing some sewing soon. That would be an awesome project, small and pretty. Did you find any Christmas fabrics in your stash?
Gotta get ready for babysitting today. BBL GInny

This morning I've been to the chiropractor and then had coffee with a friend. Before I came home, I stopped to have the batteries changed on my automatic entry and start keys for my car.
hb has an achy tooth, so I've called the dentist and will take him with me tomorrow to see what the problem is. He just had his teeth cleaned a few weeks ago, so I'm surprised there's a problem. I have an appointment to have a permanent crown put on in place of a temporary crown.
Too many appointments this week! The good news is that the roads are clear. Snow keeps fading in and out of the ten day forecast. That probably means there won't be much if there is any.
Ruth we have lots of northern flickers, too. I enjoyed seeing them to close to ten years. Then they decided our house was ready for nests! They tapped and tapped and hammered on the cedar siding for two summers and made several holes. I decided it was time for new siding. End of problems with the flickers! I picked out a steel siding that looks like wood. Lifetime guarantee and no maintenance. That was fifteen years ago! Now I enjoy the flickers again!

Sue, that's what I have is cedar siding and they love to peck at it. The neighbors are geting their cedar siding repaced to metal but they're the ones who hired people that seem to be making a career out of doing just their house.
Ginny, yes I have a lot of Christmas fabric. I bought it back when I planned to use it for making scrubs for work. I made a couple but still have aLOT of the fabric left. And the spot where I am planning on putting the tree is not large so it won't take too much work but I still haven't make the hanging thing I mentioned that's to hold all my needed "stuff" right near where I sit and crochet in the "winter quarters"
Got the earwarmer, neck warmer all finished with end woven in. Now have to weave in ends on those for sil and dgs. I looked at the hooded cowl pattern for the 16 month old dggd and it looks easy so will start on that then make a couple more earwarmers for two other dgds that will be there on Christmas. They're easy to make so I might make a few so they can choose which ones they want and I may have to make one for dd with the yarn that I made the mountain land scarf with. I'm going to give her that mountain land scarf on Christmas.Do you have yours on your list Ginny? Even if you do you probably won't get to it if your dd decides to have a wedding this next summer. I do want to make one for myself but I wish I had a different color yarn to go with my new coat.I do have a nice yarn that is the right color but I don't know if I have enough and don't even know where I got it.

hi ladies, got the house downstairs and upstairs in order.
I am going nuts in my sewing room. yesterday I took out "The WANNA MAKE A SNOWMAN" kits. I took out the pieces of wool put back the pieces for one kit. now I cannot find the pieces of wool for the second kit.I know they are not both in the same envelope.
I have cleaned my sewing room, table is cleaned off, looked through all my plastic container boxes of projects and just don't know what I did with those pieces.
I know they have to be downstairs somewhere.
I will look up northern flickers.
rudy and delona had their house resided few years ago. not sure if they had cedar siding or not. there were holes all over the house.don had thought maybe
termites.
have a good night. phyl
ruth I hope you will start a quilting project someday.
I did look up pat sloan's new blocks of the month. I have enough of my own
started projects to do. keepsake quilting and missouri star quilting have blocks of the month starting up.
I just don't want to be committee to having money taken out of my checking account. can learn alot of stuff on you tube for free.

Phyl, is it this wed that you're leaving for Ky? I'm praying for safe travel and good times for you and family. Yes you sound just like me. When you want a certain thing it's nowhere to be found but you know it's somewhere. And I also agree on the monthy committment. A lot of the crochet bloggers have not set up monthly bundle clubs where they'll send you a mystery bundle of yarn every month for a huge price..no thanks. And I've only ever paid for one pattern. There are many that are free so why pay. I only paid for the one because it was the Christmas tree skirt that ds and ddil wanted. Well then I bought the kit and the pattern came with the kit so $5.oo wasted.
Right now I'm working on that little hood with attached cowl and it is easy..easier than I thought it would be. And I'm thinking of maybe bunny ears instead of the little bear ears. The pattern designer made her's as a unicorn but I'm not doing all that with ears, the horn and the mane.Bunny or bear will be good and less work.

We get northern flickers here- they are beautiful birds. Never had any trouble with them damaging our house, but then there are lots of woods nearby. Perhaps they do their damage and woodpecking there.
Phyl- hope you can find the pieces of the snowman kit you are looking for.
Sue- so sorry about Dh’s tooth. An easy “fix” would be nice. As oppposed to costly denistry.
Ruth, I too think that a bunny ears would be aorable, and easier than a unicorn for sure!
Got a little bit done on the next snowman ornament today. G

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today. It's cold and sunny here, I'll take that for December I went out earlier and ran a bunch of errands, I was glad to get back home. I've found my tolerance for driving and dealing with all the traffic and rude people in stores is very low now that I'm retired. I'd be happy just to stay home most of the time. I watched the baking show last night and it was pretty good. Next Monday is the finale. I'm looking forward more to the baking show on Thursday, since I like the format of that better. I found a cute led candle in one store I was in today and bought it. When I got home I saw that it was the kind that have a USB plug and you need to plug it into a computer or a USB power strip. The plug is a large one so it doesn't fit in my desktop PC and of course I don't have any USB power strips - so I'll need to look for one of those. The world is just getting too advanced for me Take care everyone!

Twenty Minute Scrunchie Free Crochet Pattern!
This crochet pattern is so simple and so easy you don't even have to count. There's not even really a pattern, so I won't make it one. This is the simplest thing to make, like ever! Seriously, if you have any proficiency at crochet whatsoever, this will only take about 20 minutes. Think of how many scrunchies you could make!
No counting, No guage, No pattern. Just Do It!
Step One:
Using H/8/5mm hook, join worsted weight yarn to an elastic hair tie. The thick ones work best!
Step Two:
Hdc around the hair tie until it's all the way covered up- at least 30 sts. Join to first hdc made with a sl st, ch 2.
Step Three:
Make four dc in each st around, join to first dc made and fasten off. Weave in ends securely and Boom!
Snaps to you! Enjoy embarrassing your children with your mad fashion sense, or impress your peeps with fresh new scrunchies for your whole crew!

I am trying to get the 20 minute scrunchie pattern here for Ruth- I also emailed it to her.
Gee, CJ is the baking show over that soon? The british one is weeks long.....anyway, Dd and I will watch it On Demand to catch up. And yes, I am much less tolerant of junk now- bad attitudes and rudeness.
Drove this am....then babysat. Long day BBL Ginny

Ginny, thank you so much for the scrunchy pattern. I'll definitely be making some of these. I understand they are coming back now after all the bad remarks about scrunchies. Best thing for me to do is keep a bunch of hair elastics and scrap yarn near and I can just pick them up and make them as I do other things.yes it does sound like a long day. I hope you will be able to just sit and relax this evening
CJ, I agree 100%. As you all have heard me say many times, I don't like to go out at all and don't do it unless it's absoluetly necessary. It's strange too because when I first retired I was out all the time.
I got the bunny hood with built in neck warmer done except for edging and sewing the ears on. Went to a bunny hat pattern to get the pattern for the ears only and also to see how the person sewed the ears on so I could do it correctly. I had a bunch of things to do again today so haven't got to crafting yet
Dh and i decided to go to "plan B" on the cabinet for my craft room. We decided it was too risky to try to move it upstairs so for now I'm going to use some shelves that are much lighter in weight and will work for me and when we get to Menard's next I'll look for something there. There was a cabinet that dh was going to get me on Walmart but it turned out to be their Mainstay brand and we haven't had much luck with Mainstay products. Yes it's only for the craft room but I don't really like that brand.
Red Heart must be getting desperate to get rid of their Sashay yarn that no one uses anymore. I had ordered some of their new (to me anyway) Hygge yarn and when it got here there was a skein of the Sashay. Very nice one too. I didn't order it and I wasn't charged for it but they didn't put anything about it being a gift from them so probably was actually put in by mistake. Now I have to see if I can find some patterns using that...those scarves sure aren't in style anymore. They were fun and interesting to make though.I kknow there are patterns to use them for scrunchies.I actually have a bunch of it in my stash

I found out that Red Heart is giving a gift of Sashay. I don't think many people buy it anymore so they probably thought they could kill two birdss with one stone...make people happy they get something free (even if no one uses it) and get rid of their inventory at the same time.I can make scrunchies with it.

CJ I found a plug-in at ACE Hardware. It's about the size of the plug plate, and you can plug into the wall socket and charge cell phones and run other things on. It wasn't very expensive.
My trip to the dentist wasn't as easy as I thought it would be, and it wasn't for the permanent crown. I have to go back the first week in January. Then I will finally be finished, at least for now. hb is going to see the oral surgeon next Monday and will have two lower teeth extracted. No replacement planned.
After the dentist, we stopped by the CPA's office to sign paperwork.
The snow guy had cleared the driveway and the steps before we arrived home. We had 4-6" of snow last night. None today, maybe some more tonight. It's nice and fluffy!
The rest of the day was handled by Aleve. It really helped!
