Wow! I slept until ten this morning! I'm just having my first cup of coffee. hb is watching the news.
There are no particular plans for today. The sun is out, and the here are a few cirrus clouds drifting leisurely across the skies. 0% chance of snow! High of 28.
I'll do something in a while ... just not sure what!

Good morning Ginny and Sue and the rest of you that may come in later.
Sue it wasn't supposed to snow today according to the weather forecast but I sure can see snow moving this way from the mountain.
Ginny, sorry you have to shop on a day when the stores may be pretty crowded. Don't forget to treat yourself for your birthday tomorrow.I'm sorry to hear you have a cold starting. I know the last one you had was a pretty rough one. Yes they did provide tracking and the tracking info says my order was delivered.. but that was only one of the three I ordered. The woman I spoke to the other day pointed out that it said delivered so I had to explain that what was delived was only 1/3 of my order
Well I'm going to attemp to wrap everything today. The wind doesnt look too bad so maybe I can start a fire in the wood stove which will provided some warmth and also make it seem more like Christmas. I did hear from my dd yesterday...after I msg'd her...and we'll be going over there for a short time on Christmas. Well I don't really know how long we'll be there but not too late anyway. I'm going to see if any of them want my old car since I just found out my grandson in Indiana doesn't want it after all.

Hello Crafters Ginny - You had asked about my gingerbread recipe, it's a special one - a box of Betty Crocker Gingerbread mix I hope you don't get a cold, maybe you can head it off. Sounds like you have a busy few days coming up. I bet the music at Christmas will be beautiful, how nice that you get to play the flute for everyone and hopefully have a wonderful birthday. I hope the kitty gets better Ruth - Hope you get everything wrapped today. Sounds like you've had mixed up weather like I have - yesterday in the high 60s, today windy and cold in the 40s! Sue - Hope you enjoy a relaxing day. Meg and Phyl - Hope things are going well for you. Yesterday was so nice I even opened my windows in the afternoon to get the breeze and mild temps. Last night and today we have wind, so I guess it was the wind that was supposed to be here on Thursday night and into Friday, must have just been a day late I do have a few Christmas movies I'd like to watch this weekend or on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. I like The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant, Loretta Young and David Niven. There are also a few silly British movies I like to watch and one really inspirational British movie - Angel in the House, I want to watch it too. For any of you that loved the old All Creatures Great and Small series (from the 1970s), I saw that on PBS Sunday night at 8:00 P.M., Peter Davison (Tristan) and Christopher Timothy (James) will be in a show about driving historic cars around. I loved the old series, so I'm looking forward to seeing them both again. Take care everyone!

CJ, thank you for posting that pattern. It's actually the same as the doll pattern I made for dggd only made into an angel rather than a sleeping baby. It's so cute. I saw this the ohter day and actually have it on my list to make for next year. I'm not much of a movie watcher. I'd rather read but since you can't really read and crochet at the same time a movie would be better in that respect. I did actually read one day and crochet at the same time but only because it was such as easy thing to make I didn't have to pay attention.
Snow didnt come here after all. It's cold though...28 earlier. I don't know what it is now but I do know the wind is much better.
Right now I'm trying to learn the crocodile stitch. I have to go watch the video again because, although I thought I was doing it correctly my scales seem to be too close together but I'm not sure if the really are or not so I'm going there to check

Sue, congrats on getting some good sleep!!! Hope you enjoyed your day.
Ruth, hope you can figure out the situation with Lion brand!! Good to hear that you have plans for Christmas, even a brief visit to Dd might be nice. Bet that is disappointing that DGS is not taking your old car. I know you had hoped he would. Perhaps another grandchild might want it.
CJ- hey, why not use a box of gingerbread mix!! Hope you enjoy it and I bet it smells amazing while baking. Thanks for the angel crochet pattern! Looks an awful lot like the baby doll Ruth just made...its an adorable pattern, and looks easy. I might give it a try.
Jury is out on our little kitty. I got a lot of food in her today, probably a half a can, and most of her meds. We will not know until around Monday or Tuesday if this is the right therapy for her, or she has something far worse.
All my wrapping is done! Will go to the store tomorrow. Just did not feel like it today. G

Ginny, here is one example of something made with the crocodile stitch I tried it once before and it didn't work for me but the video I saw made it so easy. CJ, I know it felt good to have fresh air coming into your house. I am so sick of cold weather already!! I decided that I'm not even going to wrap the travel mugs and the earwarmers. I'll just let everyone choose their own. I am going to wrap dggd, dgs who is 13 and dd and sil's gifts but no one else's. Dh hates to wrap and asked me a couple years ago if I would mind him just giving me gift is the plastic grocery bags and I told him I didn't mind at all so this year he told me to do his that way so that saves me a whole lot of wrapping and I'm sure not into paying a lot for gift bags

I have no idea why that posted twice. My computer has been doing weird things. Oh I see it's back to one again...strange. That might be too small if you're looking at it on your phone but if you search crocodile stitch patterns you'll find a lot. This one was nice so thought that you, Ginny, could keep it for the future Of course your youngest dgd is still in a car seat but I don't know how covers work for older babies. But hopefully you'll have more grandbabies in the future when your other children are ready

Hii Ruth, Ginny, phyl, cj & Sue.
This has been a busy week but I think I finished up this morning. I went to the bank and Target and at Target I got there before it got too nusy. I managed to get a parking spot close to the store and managed to get in and out of there fairly quickly. They were organized getting people in and out and through the cash registers. Trouible is I get tired easly and wonder if my blood count is low again. It has been quite awhile since I had iron infusions. I will check it after the holiday. Though I haven't been posting I have been checking your posts. Devin has been hogging the computer and he will be going to Disneyland over the holiday.
I went to Knit Wits on Friday, we had a gift exchange. I had to leave early but it was fun. I want to go to Hobby Lobby I have decided to make a different afghan for Janet. The one I started is not wide enough so I will make one the same as the one I made for DGD. I bought the yarn at Hobby Lobby for that one. Hobby Lobby is in a busy area so decided not to go today. I think they are closed on Sunday so I will go next week.
Ginny, I hope your Kitty gets well soon. Also have a very Happy Birthday tomorrow. Your B/day is close to mine. I had mine on the 11th Dec. I hope you get to celebrate your b/day even though it is so close to Christmas day.
Ruth, I am glad your DH makes it easy to exchange your gifts. I don't really care for gift wrapping anymore.
Sue, I am glad you got a good sleep and hope you get lots of time over the holiday to rest.
cj, I will have to check out that Betty Crocker ginger bread recipe. A lot of her cake mixes can be used to make cookies. As you know I don't bake very often anymore. I hope your ginger bread turns out well.
phyl, Hope all is well with you.
Now I am going to find my Nook and do some reading. I wish you all a good night.

Meg, it's so good to see you. Yes when there's only the one computer we can't always get to it when we want to. I'm so glad ds put in wifi while he was here and then I got a laptop and tablet to use so didn't have to share anymore with dh.
I'm glad you were able to get to knitwits. Gift exchanges are always fun. I never had much luck in getting a good gift when I participated in any of those though. One time at work we did a gift exchange and the person that got my name got me such an atrocious sweater I threw it in a Goodwill box on the way home. We also had a secret pal thing here at this hospital and both times I participated the person that had my name never gave me anything....whine, whine, whine.
No Hobby Lobby is never open on Sunday. I hope you find nice yarn to use for Janet's afgan.Monday, of course everything closes early but before they do I bet it will be a madhouse at the stores and day after Christmas will be a lot of people out exchanging things so whenever you go be careful
The crocodile stitch is really working. It's such a great feeling to learn something new. I always try to learn something new each year.

BLessed Sunday all!
Meg, so sorry I did not wish you a happy Birthday back earlier in the month. Hope you had a great day and are blessed with many more happy and healthy years. We cherish your friendship here. Hope you are reading a good book.....yes your own computer would be a nice addition.
I heard that someone has chromebooks for under $200. Sounds like a good deal....
Phyl, so glad you are sleeping well! Hope you can finish wrapping your presents q uickly, so that you can enjoy the rest of the day.
Sue, welcome back whenever cyberspace permits!
Ruth, thanks for posting the crocodile stitch, which I am glad you mastered. Its a cool looking stitch- what are you making with it? And I agree, letting your family choose their gift makes good sense and spares you a lot of wrapping.
Dd #2 made those kitchen towel hangers where you sew a cheap pot holder to a towel and attach a button so it hangs on the stove. She made several for her fiancees family.....and was in a quandry to wrap all 6 of them. So we came up with a way to fold the towels so all you saw was the pretty Christmas design and wrap with some curling ribbon. Easy to do and pretty and no paper needed.
Going for a walk Ginny
