I think I may have smoke coming out of my ears. I just saw a FB post by an older woman in her late 80s. She was hoping the shutdown would end soon, as people are hurting. She did not place blame anywhere although I happen to know she is Republican. Someone she knows, I do not, responded saying that this person does not believe people are hurting that badly. If they are in need they can always deliver pizzas. IDIOT!!! And by the way, evidently she doesn't know pizza delivery drivers have to furnish their own gas and cars, they make very little, and why should a government employee have to do this in the first place. I don't know the person who said this, but I would be willing to bet she is living pretty comfortably and not worrying about how her bills are going to be paid.
Is she out of touch because she is old or because she is a Trumper?
I don't even know anymore how people cannot see how deeply this goes, our FBI which is the best in the world is now running out of funds to even buy copy paper.
DH asked rhetorically last night how much of this country does this madman want to destroy?
All of it if Trump can. Then you have to ask yourself what deals has he made with Putin and what is expected of Trump by Putin?
Please read about the FBI:

JA hates the FBI... Look at how heâs trashed them over the last couple years. He could care less. He will cut off his nose to spite his face . Total amoral idiot!

Anne, I don't know that woman, but her photo doesn't look nearly as old as the original poster who I do know. Regardless, I don't think it has anything to do with age. I think this person is just a narrow minded bigot who is a true Republican. The kind that says, "I've got mine, and everyone else can do without."

Peaceful Protests are certainly a right protected by freedom of speech, but this is a great lesson for all. Most protests these days, seem to get out of control, too many videos uploaded to social accounts, too many people on each side who like to incite trouble, the reason for a protest like right to life is way to controversial to even think that things will not get out of control quickly, adults leaving kids to themselves too long in situations like this or even allowing them to attend such protests in the first place. Plus, wearing a MAGA hat is a lightening rod in this climate. The Hebrew group shouting the profane obscenities is the worst of this story. But that is my point, there will always be those who do this at rallies. So, now the kids are criticized for their behavior, the vet now accused of lying & the Native American group is accused of using this video to their advantage, & the rest of the Hebrew Israelite world will be looked down on because others shouted obscenities. Its a no win situation for all concerned because a some in each group acted out & now it reflects on all in each group. Its an ugly world out there these days. In this case, everyone loses & the country is more divided than ever. Where in the world has COMMON SENSE gone. !!! Linda- I love your logical overview of a situation. Totally concur with your findings madam.
And apparently so does Fr. Edward Beck:
In a recent tweet of mine that went viral I made three simple points about the now infamous "Covington boys" incident in Washington DC: 1. The boys acted inappropriately. 2. Chaperones should have intervened.
3. The boys should not have been permitted to wear MAGA hats if they were representing the school.
I hope the boys get expelled and their Principal and gets fired.....
This is not the only incident, coming from that school.
As for Nick Sandman, I predict the boy has a long future in Ky politics.

Nancy is standing her ground. Good for her! This may very well be the first time in his life that the JA has come up against someone who he can't bully, intimidate, and who won't just capitulate to him. Go Nancy! From where I'm sitting way up in the nosebleed section, I can't really see any way out for the JA but to open the government without his wall. The longer he keeps it closed the more support he is going to lose until the only people he has left in his corner are the crazy nuts who are his die hard fans. He has backed himself into a corner with his sheer arrogance, and he's going to end up humiliating himself even more.

POLITICS 01/24/2019 10:20 am ET Wilbur Ross Shrugs Off Shutdown: Federal Workers Will âEventuallyâ Get Paid âI donât quite understand whyâ theyâre using food pantries, the commerce secretary said.......Huff Post
He & Lara Trump must belong to the same Idiot Club!.....How clueless can one get. Well, evidently in their world, it's pretty darn easy!

Idiots every single one of them, clueless, arrogant, idiots! Eventually doesn't put food on the table today, or make your car payment, or pay your rent or your mortgage payment, or pay for all the many things kids need with school, sports, etc. And as for the poor contractors, there's no payment coming "eventually" for them, nor for all the businesses who are losing money every day because federal workers can't buy their products. Just totally clueless! I'd like to see their access to their fortunes suddenly frozen, their credit cards cut off, and all their access to funds suddenly dried up then tell them "well, eventually . . ." I bet neither Wilbur or Lara would have a clue where to turn, and I'll bet they would be singing a very different tune.

You could have knocked me over with a feather the nite I heard he won - I did not think it even possible. I really do hope 2020 will be the year this country finally sees a woman in the White House. Would be fitting as well, as 2020 marks 100 years that women got the vote here. Every time I hear him call Liz Warren ' Pocahantas ' I cringe.

You could have knocked me over with a feather the nite I heard he won - I did not think it even possible. Me too @rudycallsmedoll! It was a total shock. When he announced his candidacy I really considered it a joke. Evidently we gave people credit for a lot more common sense than what they demonstrated when he was elected. Surely people will wake up for 2020! I want to believe that will happen, but from what's been demonstrated it's not something we can afford to take for granted anymore.
Like Linda, I like the quotes in your tag line and join her in welcoming you to our group. Please feel free to join in anytime. This is a friendly group.

WHOO HOO !!! for this teacher!...It may be fraud, but what the heck, after all the fraud that is willy nilly in DC, I think this teacher deserves a medal. Her kind compassionate heart helped some kid in need despite the fact she is charged with insurance fraud. Good Grief, how many medical facilities, commit insurance fraud on a daily basis with Medicaid, Medicare, etc. Our teachers are the most unvalued people in this country. Its time that changes. But, I'm sure they will throw the book at her to make an example of her. www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/superintendent-facing-insurance-fraud_us_5c49c408e4b0e1872d41b7e4

I hope this teacher gets off with a cautionary reprimand. If they throw the book at her, the entire country should pitch-in to pay any fine for her. Just one more reason why we need Medicare (or something like it) for all. No one should be prevented from getting healthcare. Had this teacher and her student lived in pretty much any other industrialized country, the student would have automatically had healthcare and the medicine he needed no questions asked.
