Hello Crafters - Hope you are all enjoying your day and doing well Ginny - Great minds do think alike I tend to be drawn to either brights and florals, or the darker reproduction type fabrics. I'm sure your table runners are beautiful and I loved my Falling Charms quilt with these fabrics. Sue - Sounds like a heat wave for you We're getting snow here, it's started this evening and will continue all night and all day tomorrow. More than they had predicted. I'm just hoping it's powdery so it's not hard to shovel. Fortunately I don't need to go out anywhere so I can just stay home. Take care everyone!

Well I haven't done a whole lot today. I did try to straighten up my "office"...top of my bed... and changed linens...but that made my back hurt so I'm just taking it easy.Dh nade dinner (or late lunch)I can't seem to get myself in the mood to crochet. I do heep on loking at patterns but actual work on making a pattern is not happening.
I cant believe how nice some people are. Yesterday I posted in a crochet group I'm in on facebook. I don't know any of these people. I asked for suggestions of what people though I could make for my ddil and listed all the things I've already made for her and kind of gave a description of her and her activities. Well many gave suggestions then one woman posted and told me what a wonderful person I was to show such love and respect for my dil and that there sould be more mothers in law like me. She said a few other nice things so of course I thanked her and we ended up chatting for a few minutes and then she told me I put a smile in her heart.Well she sure putone in mine. Some people are just so loving and kind. Then today another woman wanted to know if I had the pattern or a picture I could share ofthe pencil pouch I mentioned. I thought it was one of the ones I lost but I found it in my old IE bookmarks ( I switched to google chrome) so postedit to her and she was so appreciative.

Hey Sue! Did you get out to enjjoy the warm weather? For me, as long as its above 20- its ok to be out in. Hope you were able to enjoy some sunshine and vitamin D!!
CJ- did you get much snow? Glad you can stay home and βenjoyβ it. Hope you did not get much or that it melts overnight! Me too on thel reproduction fabrics- which is what I am working with. Also pretty is the bright blue/yellow combination. (One of my favorites).
Ruth, generally, I have found that nice people usually beget nice people. A thread full of crabby whiners will attract- crabby whiners. That being said, you are a very nice person and it does not at all surprise me that you are well liked on this facebook crochet group. Back to you.....I am very sorry that you are still in a lot of discomfort. Its no surprise that you are not inspired to crochet. Most of us craft to relax/create and thats hard to do when not comfortable. Wish we lived closer, I would drive over with dinner for you and Dh so you did not have to cook. (Glad he cooked for you!). Is the discomfort easing up a bit?
Got a few minutes in on the machine putting the strips on the squares...
I finish with a story about crafters. 9 years ago, Dh, Dd#2 and I decided to go out shopping on black Friday. We knew where we wanted to go- Dh had a quick stop in Home Depot, which is a super short distance from Joanns. Dd and I went into Joanns. I had already picked out some yarn, and was waiting on the cutting line for some fabric. That is when Dh came into Joanns and found us- waiting on the line for the cutting table. While online, many crafters passed fabric back and forth to each other (after their selection was cut) and I got some great advice on yarn for the afghan I planned to make. Dh commented on what a friendly and happy group crafters were....and that he had never seen such a nice bunch of people on Black Friday. G

Got to church this am and am now settling in for what I hope to be a quiet afternoon of sewing and some football. Its super cold outside- so I might end up walking with Leslie Sansone today.

Good morning to all and thank you Ginny for your kindness, good thoughts and prayers. This morning the back feels better so we'll so how the day goes. I'm always optimistic about it but tend to try to rush things.
Yes the crochet group I belong to is a very nice one. Some people complain about others asking if people have a pattern for what they want to make instead of searching, but the leader of the group, Bethany, does not tolerate any rudeness. She is a very sweet person but has said on many occaisions that she has only one rule and that is no rudeness. She has it stated right there that if you are rude there will be no warning, she will just remove the rude person. Yes you are allowed to nicely correct someone but not be rude about it. And for the most part people there are very helpful and very kind even when telling someone something like a different yarn or a different pompom would look better on their article
Ginny, I have no doubt that if you lived near that you would come over and bring dinner. That's the kind of caring person you are. What my dh made yesterday was only frozen chicken patties and tater tots which we dont usually eat but they were on sale because of being closed out at that store a couple weeks ago when we went shopping and they came in handy. Sounds awful but they were sure good with some sweet and sour sauce.I could see having one on a nice roll with lettuce. tomato, and lots of mayo but since I don't eat rolls......
I looked at that fabric and yes, it is very lovely. Im sure it's going to be beautiful in your quilt CJ, and in Ginny's table runners.Putting various fabrics together is truly a great art and skill. Even with a charm pack you still have to put them together in an artful way.
I loved hearing the story of how your husband recognized how nice crafters are.We always have to talk to one another in the fabric store and find out what everyone is going to make with their fabric and/or yarn.

It's going to be another Montana heat wave. Sunny skies, not a cloud in sight. From 17 to 39 today! I'm scheduling a little time for vitamin D this afternoon! This would be a good day for skiing ... for those who can. I'm not one of them anymore.
There's a nearby creek that has a beaver dam just off the road. Snow and frozen pond are covering one of nature's many stories.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - What a nice story about your Black Friday shopping. I've found sometimes when I'm in JoAnn's people will talk, share, and ask about projects. Ruth - I'm glad to hear your back is feeling better today. And that sounds like a wonderful crochet group you are in. Sue - Enjoy that heat wave. I find beaver dams fascinating, even though I know they can be destructive. I saw an IMAX film on beavers one time and it was amazing. Phyl - Hope you are getting some crafting done. Meg - Did you see that VICTORIA starts tonight on PBS? We've received about 6 inches of snow so far, and then there was a lull midday but it's starting to snow again. It sounds like it will stop this evening. I'm not sure if I'm going to even attempt to clear the walks and steps, and just wait until tomorrow. I'll have to think about it. I was checking out some information on this new quilt book that is coming out which led me to her YouTube page: www.youtube.com/channel/UCHERRdnykVN9TrAmwlRWmlw - she has some interesting tutorials Then after looking at that, I was led to this page for this 345 quilt video - it's neat and very easy: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GC6zwFMl8AwAnd I'll be checking out the blogs linked today at Slow Stitch Sundays: kathysquilts.blogspot.com/I almost feel like I've made a quilt today Take care everyone!

Sue I don't know whtq the temp is here but there's no wind so that makes me happy. I got my vitD sitting inside my large window
CJ, well all those videos you watched I'd say you made a quilt. I'm going to go and look at those sites in a minute. Six inches of snow is probably huge where you are isn't it. Don't bother trying to shovel. It will melt. Esp if you don't have to go anywhere why risk hurting yourself.Doesn't sound as if you have anyone to help if you hurt your back or slip on ice and break something.

Good evening! Indeed, there is no room in this world for rudeness. I can imagine that it a very friendly group on facebook- and hopefully everyone shares their best and favorite crochet patterns. Ruth, I love that Dh cooked, even if it was a super simple heat up of some foods in the freezer! You did not have to cook and he stepped. Up to the plate to help out. Keep proceeding slowly while you heal. Its so easy to over do when we think we are healing. Take you time....I am sure you want to be 100% better when spring weather comes.
Speaking os spring- Sue- are you having a heat wave? Not tempted to wear a bathing suit, are you? Ha ha ha....no matter whatI love watching nature in any weather. With less foliage its even easier to see how our animal friends are living. Enjoy.
CJ- thanks or the reminder on Voctoria. I justset the DVR to record. I enjoy that show. Yes, you always find the best links for other craft ideas. Looks like there are lots of neat quilting videos to check out. WHich ones inspire you?
Got a bit more sone on my charm pack. Hard to believe that tomorrow is Monday Ginny

Ginny, you are funny! Spring will get here about the time summer begins. I have a bathing suit, but the odds are 9-1 that I'll never wear it again.
