phyl, well its good news that you got to and from church without incident or getting hurt. And yes, anyone who crafts has gotten things twisted up or put together backwards. THink of our fellow Amish quilters, who supposedly intentionally make a mistake in each quilt because only God is perfect. Think of them and smile....
Sue, indeed all you can do is encourage better eating habits and have better choices available to him. The rest is up to him....and yes its very frustrating. Love the bird fights at the feeder....fun to watch indeed.
Betty, so we have all been there, wanting to craft but not having the time to. For now, live cathartically through others efforts and enjoy looking at others efforts to get inspiration. There is a season for everything indeed.
Ruth, Well its no surprise to me that you would figure out the construction of the afghan. And I am so happy that the Bible cover is the right size. All that work.....and it fits beautifully. Amen to that
We are heading out for an afternoon with friends. Got high winds coming our way......sometime tonight.
Hard to believe tomorrow is MOnday Ginny

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today
I also hope everyone survives the weather they are having. After a day in the 30s yesterday, it was near 60 here today and sunny. Such strange weather, but I'm thankful for no snow.
I thought I'd take a break today from decluttering, but wanted to finish up in my father's bedroom - which is now my sewing room. So I spent a few hours in there today and cleared out most of the rest of his things that were still there. He had been staying in a bedroom on our first floor the last few years of his life because they stairs were too much.
Once I cleared those things out, I rearranged all my quilting supplies and it looks so nice now! I was so excited. I have a nice large table that is now cleared. I keep my cutting mat on one end and I did have a bunch of stuff stacked on the other end. Now I can put my project stuff on the end where I moved what was there. I also organized a few things and it just feels so good and now I can feel creative again. I ran the sweeper over the floor after I finished - there are always so many threads to pick up
I was checking out Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching blog and her post from yesterday on February 23 is a bit down the page and she made a really cute table runner from a MSQC tutorial, so I checked that out and I really want to try this block.
Here's Kathy's Website: kathysquilts.blogspot.com/
- Scroll down to yesterday's post entitled "Another Finish"
Here's the MSQC Tutorial for the block: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sHV-x4e500s&t=369s
I might just play around with a few scraps first to see how it goes. Someone in the comments made the suggestion that once you draw the "X" on the fabric you'll be sewing to the other fabric, go ahead and cut a small slit with your scissors at the intersection before sewing, then it's easier to cut after you've sewn. I thought that was a good idea.
Take care everyone!

CJ, I just went and looked at the site then went and watched the video. Wow, amazing!! And the spring showers she showed is just so beautiful! Thanks again for posting links
Yes I''m sure it's great to have the sewing room and to have it the way you want it. I'm sure your father would approve of you doing this rather than having the room just be wasted with things no longer used
Sue, I hope the weather in your area isn't too bad because my dgs and his little family had to come here from there to attend the funeral of his other grandfather who died last week.Iheard there was a little earthquake there

Hello everyone, I have been on the go a lot taking Janet's laundry back and forth and I get tired easily. Today I stayed home as I have a really bad cough. Devin brought it home and then DS got it and it seems to last forever. Luckily Devin was off school last week but he should go back tomorrow.
I have been crafting and I am making good headway with the big granny sq I am making for Janet. I haven't worked on the V stitch afghan for awhile but I will get it finished. I just don't have a lot of energy at the moment so I don't get a lot done.
I hope you are all well and keeping busy with your projects. Stay well and keep warm.

Ginny, I'm glad to hear you had an enjoyable evening with friends.
Meg, It's so good to see you. I'm sorry you're feeling so tired and rundown. Have you had your blood tested recenly? How's Janet doing? Will she be able to return to her care home anytime soon? Doing all this sounds exhausing so no wonder you're tired.
Yes at some point I will make that afgan. The hard part for me is going to be to decide what yarn I want to make it with. I also can see many applications for this including a Bible cover. I think it would be perfect for that. It would also make a great wallhanging or pillow cover or any number of things. If I had seen this sooner or thought of it I would have made it for my dgs instead of the one I made him.I think I will start on this as soon as the gifts I'm working on and planning to make are done. The woman that made the one on the video used browns and tans using the brownwith some flecks in it so that Cross would look like it was made of wood. I think some bright colors would make a great afgan for an Easter gift showing the joy of the empty cross portraying the great sacrifice our Saviour made for us all. Of course I won't have it done for this Easter.
Have a great night all and I'll see you all next week
