Hi June. Tavern was very good. I ordered a chef salad with grilled buffalo chicken strips and their house dressing on the side. I did splurge and had one of their fresh baked crusty rolls. I passed on dessert and had a cup of coffee. It was very good and satisfying.
Happy your parents are holding their own.
Tomorrow I plan on being OP. We may get yet another wintry mix. If that happens I'll stay put.
I have a pork tenderloin roast defrosting for tomorrow and will pair that up with veggies and will skip the potato.
Ssleep well all.

June, when you have a chance edit the header to include Sunday or date. Glad your parents are doing ok. Ann, sounds like a wonderful dinner. The seafood place we frequent often serves no bread unless you pay for sinful stuffed French bread. The lunch place, Palms, unfortunately serves hot crusty rolls. Stayed home as planned yesterday. Son and grandson visited to cheer me up. I gave them a bag of childrenβs books. Also gave him $5 in a Chinese money envelope he wants to donate to a school fundraiser. We ended up with steaks, roasted Brussels sprouts, asparagus, salad and a glass of Cabernet. So today Iβll make the Vietnamese rice with salad for an Oscar viewing party. Not worried about anything but feeling better and definitely tracking. Drinkiylots of liquids and staying home today.

Good morning, all!!!
Prayers continue... esp for our ailing posters & Loved Ones... and those under particular stress... and {{{HUGS}}}... and thankYouThankYouTHANKYOU for your prayers for me and my family...
Extra prayers for all those with medStuff going on this week...
And a few more for those in the path of the newest round of winter storms... whether it's snow or rain or wind, there's more out there (we're getting rain and then wind)...
π§π·π§π·π§π·π§π·π§
Today's forecast is for rain to end by mid-day but winds to build up over the next couple of days. Temps today will touch 50*.
Today we are going to The Plantation for 1 PM for a squidSitting session. We still don't know the end point so I think we may pack soup-and-sandwich lunch and then individual casserole fixings (I have L/O chicken and pork available).
My WW workshop was OK but I am getting tired of what seems to be a 4-week cycle of topics, especially this one about "moving more". Our coach will not be there next weekend; she is speaking at a conference for her DayJob. I'm looking forward to seeing her sub. But it was good to see my WW GFs, especially the 40-something who travels for her job. She'll be in Barcelona for the next 3 weekends, and then after a couple of weeks back home she's heading for Kochi India (she has friends in Spain but the India trip has her freaking out). All in all, worth going - although not so much from a learning-about-weight-management perspective.
We got our candles! They are all new-to-us scents and we'll enjoy them up until the weather gets open-the-windows warm. For sure, I've already got one lighted on this dark and rainy morning. And then we picked up the Kressling and got him to the barber shop, for his good-for-March-and-April-YM-drills shearing. While he was there, he had a talk with a WWII vet who had also attended our Montford Point Marines presentation and the YM graduation. The man recognized me and then the Kressling impressed him not only with the haircut but also the firm "Yes, SIR!" when asked whether he liked YM.
Soccer practice was fine. The sports center (same one we've gone to before) has its armchairs, coffee table, and TV so I settled in for a knitting session. The Kressling practiced trombone afterward, and then the three of us headed to the MousekeHouse for "hamburgers and cake" for the Mouseketeer's 8th birthday celebration (his natal day is today, 2/24). The gathering was DSonIL's family (2 of 3 brothers with spouses and children, and his parents); apparently this is a weekly thing for them-all. There are two more girl babies on the way, one due in May and the other (whose gender reveal was part of the evening) in August. Even though she's celebrating, GrammyWags may have to re-think her whole child-care plan...
We were home around 9:30 PM and puttered around until midnight. Toots is still sawin' wood this morning but I've been up since 5:30. That's OK - I'll nap in the car on the way to The Plantation.
For right now, there's coffee... and a candle... and prayer... βοΈβοΈβοΈ...
π§π·π§π·π§π·π§π·π§ Have a healthy-eating day, all! π§π·π§π·π§π·π§π·π§

June - Glad your parents are okay under the circumstances. Sounds like you did great balancing things out at dinner Ann. Good plan for today. Audrey - Glad you are feeling better. Good goals Becky You too Cathy! MJ - I'm sick of rain but even more sick of wind! Sounds like you are starting to rethink the status quo for retirement. Have fun at the Plantation We had a great day yesterday down in Cape May. Unfortunately the rain moved in earlier than expected so it was wet and raw but we kept going anyway. I was in and out of the winery is record time as there was only one wine I wanted to taste before buying. They waited in the car as my brother is in recovery (21 years!) and my sister doesn't care for NJ wines. While dinner was not a cohesive meal, it was good - bbq baby back ribs, grilled asparagus, eggplant rollatini (our cousin gave it too him the night before) and risotto alla Milanese con funghi as requested. He is at the airport as we speak. We realized that this was the first concert we have ever been to together which is very strange given that we come from a musical family and have both attended many concerts over the years. Off to spin, church and then a nap. I'll start a plan for the week.

Still raining here and it's the freezing variety. Perfect day to veg and I don't need an invitation in that department lol.

Ann Ha ha ha... You are a woman after my own heart. I will choose a freshly baked, crusty roll over dessert or a potato any time. Glad that you you had a lovely evening. We will have to decide today's dinner. R made pizza yesterday, and I foolishly ate nothing rose w/ it. I was so groggy afterwards. Plus I have a shower to attend this afternoon. So..... I may just pull out some leftovers like cooked chicken w/ mixed vegetable is broth.
Audrey How sweet of your DS and DGS to brighten your day w/ their presence. Do you have any favorite films that you hope will win awards? Enjoy your party. Although there was a glaring weakness in the plot, we enjoyed "Black Panther" for a number of reasons.
Becky THat's a solid plan for continued success in maintain your weight!
Cathy Sunday always seems like the perfect day for preparing some batches of this and that for the work. A friend of mine use to make a huge pot of basic vegetable soup and add something to the pot daily.
Mj I understand your comments about the workshops. While I try to take away something from each workshop, I confess the cyclical topics are seeming more ho-hum. Am likely to start attending just once a month. Will see. Your heart had to be bursting with love and pride. When I hear of young men like your DGS with heart, intelligence, and dedication, who want to serve, I feel more reassured about the future.

Susi Sounds as if you had a successful visit with your DB even though the weather was not cooperative. Yes-- there is something about this winter that seems harder to endure. A friend who lives above Phoenix sent pictures of snow outside her house. She was not "loving" it! Congratulations to your brother for choosing sobriety each and every day of those 21 years. Hope that you had a great spin class.

Okey dokey Have completed my grading. Now I need to figure out what I want to accomplish before the wedding shower. Was stumped as to what to buy since our neighbors have been living together for years and we are actually closer to her boyfriend. Plus there wasn't a bridal registry. So... rather than an impersonal gift or money or gift cards, I purchased a set of 4 RADA stainless steel steak knives that will last for years and years. I found an adorable, decorated tubular cardboard container to use as a gift box. Since I hate to wrap -- anything-- I was pleased with the results.
Ha ha ha... if it had been a shower for the groom, I had all sorts of ideas.
Have no idea what the shower menu will be. Will eat zero point foods this morning & afternoon and then adjust. Unless the cupcakes or cake is homemade, I will likely pass. Ifthe cookies are homemade, I will consider whether or not they are special. I really am a plain Jane eater, so I may not find anything that I want to eat... who knows? I will make certainthat I am not hungry whenI arrive and go from ther.

Cathy It sounds like you have a great plan for success.
MJ You have had a rough winter it sounds like.I'm glad you enjoyed seeing your WW gf's even if you didn't like the topic.I hope your rain ends soon and your temps start rising.Enjoy your Yankee candles and your squid sitting session.I know you are so proud of your YM also.
Susi I'm glad you enjoyed your visit with your brother.Congratulations to him on his sobriety. We haven't had a lot of rain mostly cloudy for the last week but it's sunny today but I too am getting tired of the winds.Enjoy spin and church.I hope you get a nap.
Ann It sounds like today is a good day for you to veg.I'm glad you are getting some well deserved me time.
June Enjoy the shower.Your planned dinner sounds good.I'm like you concerning sweets. If it's not homemade I'm not even tempted. If it is I always have to decide if it's worth the points or I may just have a couple of bites. It's a good idea not to go hungry.
We will be heading out for church in about 1 1/2 hours, come home for lunch,a little housework and if the wind lays some I will get in another walk in addition to the recumbent bike.
Hope everyone has a great day.

June have fun at the shower today. Yup to the crusty roll. I so love anything like that rather than as dessert! They even served it with dipping oil so I got my healthy oil in Your dinner does sound good and it's always a good idea to eat something before going to one of those affairs. Becky I hope your wind dies down. It's still dark dank and dreary with the rain here. I did a load of laundry and that's about it for me for the day LOL.....mission accomplished! Now it's time for the kindle
