June Don't feel guilty. It sounds like R is definitely a keeper.
Susi I'm glad the ferals were warm and dry.I'm sure Charlie enjoyed the extra walking.Enjoy your hair appointment and the wineries with your sister.
LaDonna I'm glad you enjoyed your evening with Jayleigh.Enjoy your walk.
Only plans for this morning are going to town to get hay for the cattle.Monday-Wednesday we are supposed to have lows in the 30's so we need to get them extra food.I will ride the recumbent bike and if it warms up a little like yesterday afternoon I will take another walk.

We had 10 attendees for the 8 AM workshop (they wandered in, one by one), one Guide/receptionist, and the Coach.
Main roads were clear; side roads not so much (as in, really REALLY awful).
I stopped for gas and the station was not plowed - doesn't stop me, Amazin'Grace flexed her 4WD muscles and we got 'er done. I stopped at the library on the way home to pick up books I'd put on reserve (catching up with what DDIL-the-psychologist is reading - makes for wonderful conversations and good for me to stretch my mind, too). I've also shoveled the walk, the driveway (all the way back to our steps), and the street to clear to the curb (neighbors left cars on the street so the plow couldn't get in close). I'll pick up the Kressling now so he can come here for a brief trombone session before we head to his soccer practice.
How DID this day get so DivaBlenderIsh?!?!?!?
AND... I met our new across-the-street neighbor, Javier (wife Ingrid, 5-yr-old daughter Gabriela) who was out shoveling, too.

La Donna, Jayleigh is such a lucky girl. Monday is Noraโs fourth birthday so for some reason she wants to be five to be older than her good friends. Her babysitter picks her up from daycare at one and I am bringing a surprise lunch birthday party.I have Mardi Gras beads from a restaurant on the cruise, Will pick up tacos or quesadillas according to what the babysitter suggests, Then a little bouquet of cupcakes at Whole Foods. I had a bad night coughing and then finally awake at 5. I also go to bed at midnight. cathygeha how much caffeine do you drink during the day?

Becky hope it warms up so that you can take your walk. I'll do my 'activity' inside today. Not snowing, but no sun makes it feel much colder. MJ always fun to meet new neighbors. Hope they become friends. LOL Audrey. I bet Nora enjoys all her bday treats from you. Well, I am going to unplug for the rest of the day. My 'chores' are done, and so am I

LaDonna - Glad you had a great time with Jayleigh. Enjoy the party later! Becky - How many cattle do you have? MJ - The sun is sort of peeking out here. Hope it clears up before the next round tomorrow night. I HATE when people leave cars in the road when snow is predicted. It makes it so difficult for everyone else. Hope they got plowed in! Glad you got in your workshop and errands. Audrey -LOL on Nora. It took my boss more than a month to get rid of the cough even when everything else was better. Hope you get rid of yours soon. Bee - Haven't done it in years but used to love it. Back in the day we also stored our bacon grease to fry foods. I actually have some duck fat in the fridge that I occasionally use to saute. She just did the roots and bangs today. In 6 weeks I'll get the whole works done including cut and styling as that day is the Annual Handicapped Children's Charity Ball.

Ann Ha ha ha... aren't just the most thoughtful wives? R has signed onto make beer battered fish for Dad's birthday meal. I will make macaroni & cheese. Am trying to decide if I should roast butternut squash with or without carrots. Have a small pan of cookie dough topped brownies in the oven. Will broil or bake my white fish. Have to calculate the points to decide on what to do w/ cheese & brownies. Options are a 1) hard pass on both, 2) choose a portion of one, skip the other, 3) mini portions of both, or have one item today and the other tomorrow. R wants me to frost the brownies, but that also may be a pass.
Susi I guess your DGF would know you better, but to me you seem to know when to rest. After all, you take a nap if you need it. As long as you are not stressed, I can not see anything wrong w/ having various activities and projects. Also you live in a great area for wine, which you enjoy. So It's quite nice to make a little jaunt here and there w/ your sister and/or friends.
LaDonna LOve that you had a fun visit w/ Jayleigh. Sadly, we have no KMarts near us now. That was one of THE places to shop when I was growing up and then as a young wife. Have a great time at your get together. Sounds like you will have a legitimate reason for not staying too late or indulging too much.

Becky Did you get in your walk & bike ride? Did you make the drive to town? How's many head of cattle do you have? Are they dairy or meat cattle? My university mentor had a dairy farm about 20 minutes north. They sold maple syrup, too. Lots of Amish friends helped also w/ sugaring. Ha ha ha... that guilt was short-lived. We are--usually--a good team and just pitch in. I guess I will keep him, but he isn't out of the probation period until we hit our 40th anniversary in 2020. Although R will claim it's 40 years on 12/12/19. Our celebratory trip will be the remote outpost inCanada this summer.
Mj That was a busy morning for you, Amazin' Grace, and Toots! IDK....how did you end up w/ a Diva kind of day? Enjoy the time w/ your grands! Hope the car races are exciting!

Audrey What a fun party you have planned for Nora. Sooooo cute that she wants to add a year to be "one" up on her friends. Sigh... that cough just won't let leave. Maybe a change of weather in Vegas will help? Bee j Yum, yum, yum... I wish I had some tips to offer, but I do not. Let us know how it turned out.
Ann Have a lovely evening.
susi Nice to get that touch up! Your hair always looks so nice in the pictures that you post.

June, it came out great! I am boiling some eggs to use part of the roasted beets to make some pickled beets. Will also add lots of fresh sweet onions chopped.

Becky, Tell us about your cattle, how many do you have? Audrey, so sorry your cough isn't gone like you thought There's some kind of tea that Jenna Bush makes that's supposed to help with that. I'll see if I can google and find the recipe. Here it is: www.today.com/food/starbucks-medicine-ball-t109706Bee, I'v never had roasted beets but I love roasted veggies. June, Kmart was THE place when I was growing up, too. I'm surprised this one is still open. Its hanging on by a thread but its so easy to get in and out of and it is never crowded like Walmart is. They have really neat things, too. Well I have accomplished a good bit. I walked, straightened the house, spent a couple of hours at church doing my clerical work, got my car washed and did some grocery shopping. Now I'll just piddle a little bit until its time to get ready to ride over to the party. Wishing all a wonderful evening!

Audrey I'm sorry you had a bad night coughing. That's cute about Nora wanting to be five. She will love the surprise birthday lunch party.
Ann It was 49 when I started out on my walk and while that doesn't normally feel cold it was cloudy and breezy so it felt a lot cooler but I got it done.I will probably still do 30 min on the recumbent bike.Have a good rest.
Bee I have never tried beets so I'm of no help.
Susi We don't have near as many head as we used to.We have 5 head plus a bull and a donkey. The reason Kenneth wanted to get hay was some of the cows are going to have babies probably in the next month or two and the more cubes he feeds them the bigger their calves are and it makes it harder for the mamas to give birth so he wants to save the protein cubes until after they give birth.I saw one give birth a few years ago.It was so funny. The calf just dropped right out of the cow.I had never seen that before. Are you expecting more snow? This winter has really been rough on the northeastern states hasn't it?Scooter is going to be 5 in May and she has never even seen snow.I hope you enjoyed your color.

June I love roasted carrots. The frosted brownies would definitely be a temptation for me.I don't think Austin even has any KMarts anymore which is the largest city closest to us.I did get the walk in although it felt cool for us.I bundled up though and enjoyed it.I will get in the recumbent bike later.I have a cat laying between my legs right now.LOL.They are beef cattle. My DH grew up on a dairy farm but has never had time for them since we have lived out here. What a nice trip for your 40th anniversary.I will turn 65 in August and we will be married 35 years in September so I told Kenneth we needed to do something fun this year.
MJ Did you stay for the WW workshop? It did turn out to be a busy day for you after all.
Bee Your beets sound good.
LaDonna we only have 5 head of mama cows.We used to have more but they have died off or we have had to sell them over the years. We have them so we can sell their calves.I enjoyed a walk today too.I cleaned the kitchen and grilled chicken tenders on the electric grill for my lunch salads next week.Enjoy the party.
