Good morning, everyone is *up and at up*. I am up, but not at em...hurrah. I will be heading into Cambridge this afternoon for 3:00 Lessons and Carols, and have officially taken the day off. Tomorrow is my birthday and we're headed to Bradana's for dinner tonight and our celebration...they leave tomorrow night for Paris, which is where Dana's family spends Christmas every year (oh, too bad, LOL!) so this is our second year to make a big deal for my BD. Last year, was pretty hard seeing the "writing on the wall" for future Christmases, but you know, it is what it is, and I am so grateful for the great relationship we all have. J & I are always *invited* but as long as he's a church musician, that's going to be a little tricky to figure out; however, who knows, maybe one year. So today will be fun and lovely, for sure. Then, J is off for two weeks except for services next weekend, so it is pedal to the metal for the move...before I head to Cambridge I am taking Missy to her sitters and we will pick her up Wednesday AM while the packers are here (I'd love to say there's nothing left to pack, but J's stuff is pretty much untouched, LOL.) I'm hoping that he'll accept that he needs to let them do it and not spend his two weeks off shuttling his stuff, but we will see. I will really make myself load my car to the brim tomorrow and then see what Tuesday holds, but it will be huge not to be coordinating dog sitter schedules with the traffic. What surreal weather...after the bitter bitter cold, then the snow, then the sludge, now it's raining and 52, but at least that means I won't be slipping on ice. There is more cold coming, but hopefully it can dry out first. pbnj I always though my brother and I would be like you and your sister, but it was not meant to be and my feelings for my brother have never been quite the same; the emotions of grief certainly don't always bring out the best of us. I know you'll take good care of your DH, and pray the rest of the family will find peace soon. sullicat1 I know just how you feel about basements! For whatever reason, our new one is staying nice and warm (good thing since it's like a large closet down there), the steps aren't steep and there's a rail. You take care. Everyone have a full and rich (although not the stomach!) day.

sullicat1 6 POUNDS of Brussels Sprouts! Wow! LOL! I don't see why you couldn't do them ahead of time. They can be served at room temperature or put them on a tray for a few minutes to warm them up (maybe while other parts of the meal are getting prepped to serve) I copied this from the web: "Brussels sprouts can be roasted 4 hours ahead. Chill, uncovered, until cool, then cover. Reheat, uncovered, in a 350°F oven until hot, 10 to 15 minutes. " Good luck and let us know how it works out. So glad your family enjoyed them. Hmmmm, I might put them on the menu for our Christmas dinner. We're having prime rib so I think the B.S. would be great.

ksbruns Happy Birthday, dear Kathy! *** Blows horns, throws confetti and passes out birthday cake to everyone! Hope you have a super day and that the moving goes smoothly. About your kids going to Paris for Christmas. (ahem, yeah, I'd like to do that too!) But, once they have kids, that might change and they may prefer to stay grounded at their home and let the grandparents come to them. Actually, I could see spending Christmas in Paris once but every year? Not sure about that. Probably nice that J is so busy at this time of the year so you have something to focus on. Hugs.

Thanks, Linda...save that confetti one more day! I just got my free drink notification from Starbucks so celebrations all 'round! I dunno, these are serious jet-setters and I'm sure lugging a baby to Paris will not be a big deal, LOL. This is where Dana has spent every Christmas of her life, her family has a place there and there's lots of family. She is very attached to her family, which I do admire, since I had so many issues with my own. Jeremy and I have discussed flying over on Christmas afternoon one year (and of course, this would be the perfect year with Christmas on Sunday) but after all the trips this year, I never considered it...good thing with the move! It was good that J and I had a lot of fun last year, so just need to start our own *empty nest* traditions.

pbnj I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending love and light during this difficult time. Yesterday I woke up to snow, today is 55 degrees, tomorrow morning is supposed to be 10 degrees. Crazy weather in much of the country. Hope everyone has a good day.

insert code here pbnj I am so very very sorry for your loss. Praying for a peaceful resolution to what lies ahead. We were very fortunate that when we lost our parents years ago and then losing our sister last year, we knew and followed their wishes without any problems.

I'm not going to tell everybody how warm it is here cause then you'll be jealous! Its really warm here in SC, too! I just took a walk and I am sweating. I prefer cooler weather this time of year. But not subzero temps:)

ksbruns, Kathy happy happy bday! Wish I could figure out how to upload a photo on my tablet. It would say:" May your birthday be filled with joy and wine". P.S., I had a dog name Missy!
