It's already 49, going into the 50s before plummeting again tonight. Makes this cold feel even worse. Still, I won't let it slow me down today. About to walk Charlie before heading to my favorite spin class.

Good morning friends,
My dear sister-in-law passed in the early morning hours. I will remember her for her beautiful smile and giving heart.
As with any large family (my DH is one of seven) there is already dissension and disagreements brewing. So sad to see. My husband is a counselor by profession and I'm afraid he will be spending a lot of time trying to ease hurt feelings. I'm so grateful that my one sister and I were able to care for our parents and then attend to all the necessary details of funeral, assets and division with calm heads and loving hearts. We kept thinking and saying to ourselves... Mom/Dad would be proud of us now.
My prayers are that DSIL's children can find peace and love in their hearts and honor their mother by their actions.

(((Pat))) Heaing vibes sent your way.
It's 37 here, a virtual heat wave, & pouring. Would love to see the snow disappear. It's pretty when it's coming down but the ice is so nasty.
I've got a couple of loads of laundry to do. I put it off for as long as I can because I hate going downstairs to my basement to do it. The stairs are quite steep and besides, it's just spooky down there. Finished the mantle yesterday but I'll add a little more greenery. Going to make chili...funny, I love to make it but it's not one of my faves....so I'll be going to Deb's tonight for spaghetti (I wish).
Still waiting for an elf to appear at my door with my butter cookies!

I'm sorry for your loss, pbnj. Sending healing prayers for you and your family.
I woke up 2 1/2 hours ago and couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to just get up. I'll take a nap this afternoon if I feel tired. I can't even have coffee as I have a pill I have to take once a week on an empty stomach and can't have anything to eat or drink for at least half an hour. Got about 20 minutes to go yet.
The overnight low here was -29. It is now -10 with a wind chill of -27. I'm just glad I don't have to go out for anything today. I went in to town last evening for Mass. It was cold and below zero but there was no wind to speak of so it didn't feel all that bad. I didn't have to walk very far, less than half a block. I love my car starter. I can start it from an app on my phone so it will be nice and warm by the time I get out there.
Not going to do much today. I'm going to make that last batch of soap. The store I went to last evening didn't have any lard left and I wasn't about to drive out to Walmart. So I will revise my recipe and add something else to replace the lard. I have cocoa butter and shea butter I can use.
My son, the Father, will be coming this evening, so I'll have to figure out something to have for supper. Then we'll watch some recorded TV shows.

pbnj, I'm sorry for the loss of your sister-in-law. I hope the family comes together in a peaceful way during this tough time.
There's not much going on with me. I must confess I made 2 batches of Christmas cookies yesterday. [Bad me!] I'll try not to eat more than 1 or 2 per day. I figure that won't do me too much harm.

pbnj I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers for the family members to come together in a loving way. DebDoesWW Don't you feel like a wuss, talking about temps at 32 degrees when these other friends here have it a -0 degrees! LOL! Guess I've lived in the south too long. BRRR! Luckily, for us here in Houston area, it won't last long! I am going out later to run to Sears for a water filter for my fridge. I will stop by the gym and do my weights too so that I feel somewhat productive. Spaghetti sounds good, Deb. Stay warm, friends. One week until Christmas!

Good Morning! Oh man it is really cold where some of you are. It is going to be around 72 & rainy today in SC and tomorrow the high is 47! Our weather is back and fourth as of late. So sorry for your loss pbnj hugs and prayers to you and your family. My day will be church, spending the afternoon with a special 4 year old, and maybe riding around when it gets dark to look at Christmas lights. Have a great day everyone!

Susiq, feel better.
Now I can't decide...Deb's spaghetti or Diva's steak dinner...my 2favorite meals. I guess I'll go to Diva's, she lives closer.
Notice how I'm still here trying to avoid spooky basement to do laundry.
Linda, do you think those brussell sprouts can be made the day before Christmas? Can't grasp having to make 6 or more pounds Christmas Day (or any day for that matter, lol).

Deb, that spaghetti does sound good. Its one of my favorites! Trouble is when I make it, I tend to eat too much.
