NO clue where my post went GRRRR this desktop is a pain at times. We had a wonderful St. Patrick's day yesterday. Our corned beef came out great in the pressure cooker. WE started it off in crock pot mode and then switched it over.
I drank a lot of water to compensate for the sodium and will do the same today.
We are donating blood at 1:30 at a drive here in town. Before that I need to make a quick pit stop to pick up produce and think about 'sides' for our turkey breast that is defrosted in the fridge.
It did warm up yesterday later on so we were able to take LuLa for a hood walk. Felt good.
Pam so happy that the raffle went well.

Hi Ann and friends,
Happy Monday. It's chilly but sunny and spring should be coming!
We did not get home until after 9 PM last night, and then we had to drop off our older car at the mechanics to see if he can work on a few things. We debate how much longer we will keep it. It's a 3rd vehicle that comes in very handy for commuting and on bad weather days and for guests, etc. It's been such a gem of a car - an old 2004 Chrysler Pacifica with 190,000 miles! Going strong for the most part but we'd never take it a long trip, etc. The kids drive it when they fly into town in the summer and I drive it to commute 10 miles on slushy, snowy days. I am attached to it and it's been a jewel with very few issues but we baby it a bit, too. My DH loves a Chevy Silverado truck which is pretty new and I love my Mazda, too. So, we'll see what the mechanic thinks about pampering it a while longer.
Anyhow, by the time I got to bed after unpacking and getting ready for work today and for the carpenter to show up at 8 AM to continue bathroom flooring/walls, it was 11:30. My little head was spinning because I had a letter from our prescription provider saying they were discontinuing my scripts! Good Grief! I was on the phone an hour last night - worrying - and after another long call this morning, it's turned out to be a big snafu on their part. It seems I had two different accounts! Both accounts are through the large utility company that my DH worked at for years and they accidentally enrolled me in the big commercial plan for current employees instead of the plan for retirees' spouses. Thank Goodness I got a great person today on the phone because the other two were clueless and gave me lots of misinformation to "sleep" on! The funny thing is that after you hang up from these calls, you are never quite sure you are on the right track even when it goes well! I do think I am now, fingers (and toes) crossed. I wonder what some folks do who don't understand things as well as we do. My online account was actually on the wrong site due to all this confusion. This is probably way more info that you need to hear, but interesting, isn't it?
I put our corned beef, carrots, onions and potatoes in the crock pot this AM. The recipe called for adding 8 ounces of beer for flavor. I'll add the cabbage when I get home tonight and cook it for one more hour. DH is not a big fan of corned beef but he loves the other stuff. I bought a good cut of angus beef without much fat so maybe he'll change his mind.
Pam, glad the auction went well, too! You raised a nice sum of money! Also, I am drooling over Morganza cake. Was it named after Morganza ducks? :-) I looked up the cake again and would sure love a piece about now.
I packed up my summer stuff from the Cape and will go through what I have at home, too, this weekend. I am looking to do a purge of stuff that has gone unworn for a couple years. We all have too much, I think, and it's good to pass some on for others to use. I did buy one outfit for one of the dressy dinner nights at Disney. We have a couple nice dinners planned. Talbot's had a big flash sale over the weekend and I bought a pretty black geometric type skit with a 3/4 sleeve black top - trimmed in a bit of white. I loved the skirt, and their stuff always fits me and wears really well. I can't find a lot in bigger stores - some of my friends have so much luck with TJ Maxx, but I get overwhelmed! Online is my style and I only shop one or two stores.
Well, I have rambled long enough...lunch will be leftovers from our dinner out last night. I was really hankering for ....lobster mac and cheese. I planned my day around it and only ate about a third of it. Portion control! I ate a big salad first and that helped me. In the past, I could have devoured all of it.
Also, I decided to discontinue my online coaching. I loved my coach and she gave me MANY great tips and goals. I decided I have gotten as much as I can out of our sessions and I have a long typewritten page full of her (and my) good ideas for this WL. I don't know what else we could possibly cover! I need to do the rest of the work on my own.
TTFN!

Wow Judy....all that you have gone through since back from the Cape! Sheesh to being on the phone re: the Rx. Good luck with your car decision. I know it's hard to part with an 'old reliable friend' We also add either beer or ginger ale when cooking corned beef. We rarely have beer in the house so ginger ale did the trick! I think it's added to get rid of some of the sodium...that's what I heard anyway, but not sure if it makes a difference or not. Yes it's nice today...a little brisk, but we'll take it. I would love the mac and cheese LOL....you can have my share of the lobster Good decision to stop with the weight watcher coach if you feel you have gotten all you can get out of it. It's time consuming not to mention $$ spent. Going to have lunch before we head on out to give blood. Wishing Pam and Sue a wonderful Monday!

Ann, I am clapping my hands at your good deed giving blood. You are such a good role model - especially after all you have gone through yourself! Hope they gave you some nice cookies and OJ after the blood donation.
Yes, I was starting to wonder what my coach and I would discuss since we had covered all angles so that was my cue to cut back on both money and time spent. Also, I have all of you for support and a great leader on Tuesday AM. Now it is UP TO ME to make it work.
I had the leftover mac and cheese for lunch. I had a very light 0 pt breakfast so I think I am okay. It was not a huge amount but I am sure it was loaded with butter. Tasted like it! Oh well, if you are going to have it, you may as well enjoy it, right? I'm not a fan of artificial butter. The only thing I use like that is Splenda because I love my coffee and have a few cups. Just eat less as my mom always said. Counting pts helps, too!
Oh, that does make sense on Ginger ale and beer. It would cut out some salt.
My little DGD was celebrating her 5th birthday at preschool today since she will be away on the actual day. My DD and she made the cutest St. Patrick's Day cupcakes. I wish I could show you! I may send a photo!
I am finishing the Stephanie Plum Look Alive 25 book. Evanovich is so much fun to read. Good escape activity.
Have a good afternoon.

Judy Carl and I enjoy giving blood. I was very sad when I couldn't give...as I was not 'cancer free' at the time. Now I look forward to it. Only thing is we never schedule an appointment. As much as I enjoy giving, I refuse to be bothered by phone calls and emails...so we simply show up when they have the drive in town. Today there were a lot of people donating but not a lot of help...we were there at 1:30 and we were asked if we could come back at 3:30. We did and still had to wait. By the time we got out of there needless to say even with the snacks provided, we were starving. Mickey D's is just down the street...not healthy by any stretch of the imagination, but oh well...it happens Tomorrow IS another day. I loved that book, by the way. It actually had me lol'ing Enjoy. LOVED the pictures of the cupcakes and thanks for sharing. I showed them to a lady sitting beside me while waiting to give blood LOL. I'm already jammified and ready to just sit and be. Take care, all

Good Afternoon, WW friends ~
Happy Monday!! I had a very tiring day. My partner at school was out sick and we didn't get a sub, so it made for a lot of extra work for me. Our coordinator came down and offered to help, but I told her we'd "get 'er done". We do have our extra helper this year, so she and I worked very fast and were out of there on time. But I felt it when I got in the car. I could have stopped at Meijer but just was too weary. We got to go outside today with the kiddos but it was surprisingly cold! It promises to get warmer all week, and I will believe it when I see it!
I have enjoyed reading what everyone is eating, but too tired for personals tonight. We had leftover turkey breast with a bit of FF turkey gravy, half serving of Rice-A-Roni Wild & Long grain rice, and oven roasted fresh broccoli and cauliflower. I have a feeling tonight will be an early one for me.
Make a great rest of the day!!

Good morning all. Slept well even though I didn't get in a lot of hours LOL. I'm refreshed and that's all that matters. After a trip to the dentist we'll run a few errands and I plan on getting in some good walks if the weather cooperates.
Wishing all a wonderful and OP Tuesday. Will CBL

I did end up having to have that tooth pulled. Talk about frustrating. I had 2 root canals and 2 crowns done on it. What happened was I developed an infection beside where the root was and in the bone.
I'll be back posting when I'm able.

Oh my gosh, Ann! You poor thing having a tooth pulled. Well, you did your darned best to save it so I guess that was your only option. You had no choice. Hugs. I hope you are not in pain.
I was way beyond tired last night when I got home. The corned beef and cabbage turned out great - DH even had a good serving of corned beef! After dinner, I did a few things and then took a long hot shower and was in bed by 9 PM. That has to be a lifetime record for me! I was asleep by 9:30 and other than getting up to go to the restroom at 4, I slept until 6:30. I was wiped out.
I am waiting for a call for a furniture delivery now. They were supposed to call me 45 minutes ahead so I could get home to let them in. I repeated that a few times and was confirmed yesterday. Delivery was supposed to be between 10-2. I had a funny feeling so I called just now and they said "Oh, they tried to deliver but you were not home!' Sheesh!! So, luckily, she got a hold of the driver and they will come back and are going to CALL Me this time. The driver never read the message, she said.
Our little bathroom looks great. Not all done, but the floor and 3/4 of the walls are done. Love the grey marbling on the walls and grey paint above it. The floor is a nice neutral gray. He'll finish on Friday when more material gets delivered - fingers crossed. Nice little face lift for the lavatory without spending a bundle. New sink, toilet, fixtures and mirror.
I went to my Tuesday AM WI at WW. I am down 1.5 lbs so happy about that. Now to keep it going!!! It was a good meeting. I like our leader a lot; however, we all roll our eyes at one member who interrupts constantly and finishes everyone's sentences and monopolizes the meeting. I feel badly for the leader because it is not as if she calls on her all the time! Oh well...keeps it interesting, I guess!
Have a good day, and phew!! Sue!!! You must have been exhausted. Working with kiddos and on your feet all day is tiring - fun, but tiring. I hope your partner recovers soon for your sake. Bye for now !

Thanks Judy. I was in pain but thank God it's gone. Unfortunately it's not a very back tooth and we can't afford an implant so once it heals I'll go back and see what other options he can suggest. Apparently the way the tooth is shaped made a place for an infection to settle. Doesn't happen often but leave it to me to be the lucky one!
Wishing all a nice rest of your day. Just not up for personals.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy First Day of Spring!! I woke early this morning and dawdled in bed until I heard the coffee pot start. By the time I packed DH’s lunch and started my yogurt & berries breakfast bowl, coffee was ready and I got to sit with my tablet for a while. We are both fed and showered and getting on with our day.
Ann ~ I am so sorry about your dental woes! I had more than my share (you may recall) two winters ago so I can really sympathize. Also, you reminded me of an unusual experience I had years ago – we were on vacation over Christmas and I developed a monster toothache! I finally got in to see a dentist right before we flew from our first visit in Texas, to Florida for a few more days. Seems I had developed an abscess underneath a pulp canal and all that pressure had nowhere to go. Since I was getting a lower partial when I got home I just had them pull the tooth and my dentist added it to my partial when I got home. But the pain was unreal!!
Judy ~ Thanks for the pictures of the adorable cupcakes! They looked good enough to eat!! Congrats on the 1.5# WL!! That is huge. You are definitely on the right track. I had to LOL about the member at your meeting who takes over. Seems every group has one. I’ve certainly experienced more than my share. I just chalk it up to some people need more attention than others. I work hard at remembering something I learned in AA – to take what I need and leave the rest. Glad you got caught up on your sleep. Hope you’re feeling better.
My partner at work was back yesterday (as was our usual cook who has been away doing training) so things were more back to normal. I really do better with “normal”. I had several to-do things that were distracting me, but I got them all taken care of yesterday so now my mind is free and clear (which is the way I like it). We are expecting rain later today but for now we have beautiful sunshine!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all, Happy first day of spring.
Ann, I wrote back to you last night, but I see I must not have posted the message. Sorry about your tooth, but glad the pain is gone. Hey, partial plates work well for many - my mom did great with hers - so there are options other than implants which are astronomically expensive! Sue, your story about the monster toothache sounds horrible. Nothing - even childbirth in my view - is worse than a horrible toothache. In the "olden" days, it must have been horrible. I think we've only really started to realize just how important our teeth are to our overall health including heart health. And, Sue, thank you for the words of wisdom from AA. So true. Take what you need and leave the rest! So true. I am glad your work partner was on the mend. Hard to do it all alone. That must be exhausting with wee ones since every minute has to be accounted for or things get out of control fast! :-) Their energy level is amazing.
Well, we got the new couch but not without further issues. The delivery people were in a big rush and when they took the other couch out, they snagged it on our front door handle and completely warped it. The guy kept telling me that it was an easy fix, but it was clear it was bent. Ugh. He even came back with some kind of tool after I called Customer service later on, and he broke it completely that time. The two were like Mack and Meyer for hire! He even told me right after they snagged it on the couch that "it is nothing and even someone as un-mechanical as you could fix it in a minute!" How the heck does he know I am not a whiz with power tools! lol And he kept telling me he was having a bad day. Oh well, I love the store but not the deliveries. They are going to reimburse us for a new lock and door and send out a technician to fix it. Always something, right?
Oh, I really went to town on my spare closet and drawers. I packed up three bags for Goodwill. I decided that if I hadn't worn it in a few years and it was not flattering or fit well, out it went. A lot of what went into the bags were tops and sweaters. I did not toss my good "too small" pants, though. They are too nice and I WILL get into them. I packed them away instead. Then I laundered a bunch - three loads worth last night and have my guest bed full of spring/summer clothes to choose for Disney. I won't need a ton. We are gone six days and casual is the word! Next I will work on my bedroom closet and my makeup drawer. I need to toss a lot in both places. Curious to hear how you all handle things like makeup and how often you toss if you wear it. You read it expires fast, but I keep it much longer than the suggested few months or a year.
Have a great hump day and first day of spring all!
