Hello Crafters Ruth - I'm glad to hear you had a good appointment and that you and your DH are doing well with your health. That was a good deal you got at the store that was closing. Ginny - I'm glad you were able to work on your pillowcase and hope to get to work on the BOM this week. You asked where I get all the cute projects and they are mostly from emails that I receive from quilt stores and other craft websites. I also see a lot of them when I'm checking out blogs. I enjoy seeing the pictures and reading the posts as much as I enjoy actual crafting. I haven't been motivated to do anything this week, so I'm just accepting it for what it is. Hopefully I'll get back to things soon. It is a nice sunny day here, in the 70s. Hope the weather is nice where you all are. Take care everyone!

If it weren't for my attendance at the weekly quilting meeting, I wouldn't be doing anything crafty at all except thing about it!
Taxes, the repairs at the duplex, visits to the vet, and dozens of other undone tasks took control of my life! My daughter and grandchildren arrived yesterday and will be here until Sunday afternoon. They were planning to ski, but after two months of cold temperatures, the snow turned to slush. My daughter thought they would go to Yellowstone, but the road is closed until April 18 as the Park shifts from snowcoaches to cars. I rented snowshoes and x-c skis for them, and there is plenty of snow for them to have some fun up the canyon and even in the backyard. Whichever they don't like can be returned early. If both work well, it's one of the most unusual birthday gifts they've ever gotten! They were really excited when I suggested the idea, and the look on their faces was priceless!
hb's caregiver is sick this week. He was willing to come to work, but I'm a big germaphobe! I'm really glad he asked. I also really could have used his help yesterday. hb wasn't the problem, my back was.

CJ, I have no doubt that you will get back to those things that you feel you have to do. Taking a break is not a bad thing if you don't let the break extend to the point where you never get back to doing the things that need to be done. And crafting shouldn't be a chore or it's no longer enjoyable.
Ginny, I hope your sister and bil are doing ok. Sounds like crafting runs in your family and that your sister had advice to offer you. OUr doctor really didn't do a thorough exam but better than she did last year. Yes I think she was stressed last year because she was trying to become certified in her specialty I think and we never know what is going on in the lives of others. A medical professional isn't supposed to allow those thihngs to interfere with their work but how can a person help that happening.
Well earlier today the weather looked awful but then it improved quite a lot so I went for a walk outdoors and although tiring it was great. Took my cd player and listened to inspriational Christian music as I walked and it did a lot to improve my outlook. Before that I had spent a little time crocheting then doing some cooking and cleaning of the kitchen.I made a big pot of chili. Some will go in the freezer for later. I also made dh some what would normally be jalapeno poppers except that I made them with another kind of pepper. I baked them in the oven so they're healthier than the deep fried ones for sure but they have a lot of cheese. There's a lot more that needs cleaning but it won't be done today. I think the rest of the day and the evening will be occupied with crocheting, maybe a computer game or two and some reading and of course visiting with dh and maybe watching tv with him depending on what he's recorded. Our favorite program had their season finale and won't start again until the 17th.

Good morning!
CJ- well we are all thankful for your input with cute projects- its an inspiration to craft more! Its perfectly normal to want to take a break...during these break times sometimes the mind is going over what needs to be still accomplished and comes up with motivation and inspiration to finish the job. I am so very happy for you that this burdensome task is getting done - and am sure you are too.
Sue- good to hear from you. Remember we are here to chat with no matter what.....and we all understand how responsibilities, errands and life in general can prevent our attempts to craft. Hope DH’s caregiver is better soon so you get some relief....and enjoy the time with your DD and the grandkids! What an awesome idea to rent skiing equipment for them!
Ruth, gee, can I come eat at your house? You do make some foods that I would never attempt. Walking to inspirational music can shake the worst moods I have......its good to hear that you did get some activity in and had weather good enough to do so.
Off to work....(just the am). Errands later. BBL Ginny

Sue, it's so good to "see" you. I hope you have a great time with your family visiting and I agree that it's a fantastic idea to rent skiing equipment for them to use while there. I did see that the roads into the park are closed right now..just when you wanted them to be open.I hope your dh's caregiver is well soon. It was a good idea to tell him to go ahead and stay home. It would be awful if you and your hubby and your visiting family got sick Ginny, I'm glad to hear you got time to work on the pillow case. Do you think this is going to take a long time to complete. If I remember correctly you finished one and have just started the second? YOu have so much you have to do on a daily basis that it must be very difficult to work down your list of projects but you do a great job. Embroidery doesn't go real fast. For the BOM do you go to a quilt shop? And is your friend loving working with the sewing machine you helped to buy for her? I keep looking at mine...does that count as sewing? It's a beautiful day here today. 52 degrees already and no wind so I'll be able to walk again. I want to organize my linen closet first but I should walk so that time doesn't run out.I'm going to get another of the cd's in that inspriational album to listen to today. It's instrumental but I know the words and it's very uplifting. I hope both of you have a good day and also Meg, CJ, PHyl, and Betty and anyone else that is reading

Well I did get in my walk. I thought I'd better do it before I let myself make excuses. I start where it's fairly level then there's a steep hill. It's not a real high one but it gets the blood flowing. Then it's a little hilly the rest of the way until the end then there's a smaller hill that gives you one more boost of activity before winding down. It was windy even though from in here I thought it wasn't so that was a challenge because on the way back the wind blows right against you. I'll never be able to walk the way Ginny does but any exercise is good and I'm hoping to work up to a longer walk and even up the really steep and high hills by the end of summer.
Now after I rest and eat I'll tackle the linen closet.

Good afternoon,
Ruth, sometimes singing in your head to instrumentals is even better than hearing the words!! I truly hope that listening to that music lifts your spirits and keeps you motivated to stay positive. Enjoy the lovely weather. 52 degrees is perfect for me- nice and cool and not too hot.
Well, Ginny broke down and ordered the machine quilting templates and presser foot to go with them. It took me awhile to get the debit card ( a gift card from my route last year) to work but it did. Nice too because I had looked at these items before, and knew their original price....well today it was all on sale so I ordered 2 different templates. Lets hope they work well- I hear it takes a little bit of practice but once you get it down its all good. Ruth, looking at your machine fondly counts as crafting. Some days that is as close as I can get...…
Gotta go vacuum the downstairs. it needs it. Ginny

Oh- yes my gf who we bought the machine for. Well she is now in the stage of life I was in several years ago and has to assist with both her mom and MIL. So at times all she gets to do is look at her machine....but I know if I am successful with the stuff I ordered today (to stipple with) she will be borrowing it.
Ruth, so glad you got that walk in!!! Yes, any exercise is great- and you can always walk the same path later on in the day if you feel the need to work out some more. That way you can avoid the big hill.

Ginny, I'm glad to hear that you ordered the templates and presser foot for yourself. You deserve them and they will serve you well. It's something you will use.
I didn't get to the linen closet. Instead I changed the bed, washed some blankets and tried to straighten out the yarn I have stashed in there. Yes I have it all over my house. It must be a vacuuming day because while I was doing all that dh vacuumed some in the living room until his back started hurting too much.
See you all later
Meg, I hope you're doing ok. We sure miss you

Ruth, the linen closet will be there when you get a chance to straightening it up. Sounds like you got other stuff done that needed doing. Hope that Dh did not hurt himself with all the vacuming!!!
Well, I survived my first BOM class. I am feeling very overwhelmed at the moment....hope that Sunday or Monday I can get to making the 2 blocks and cutting what I have to get done for the next class.
Yes, we all mss Meg.... I think she is getting only minimal time to relax- hope that Janet is doing well and is out of her physical therapy.

Good afternoon all. So far today I've just worked on my craft cave.I really do have too much yarn. As I mentioned yesterday I have some down in the bedroom, I have some here in the living room and then there's the cave. Some of it I don't even like anymore. And when I go to make something I never have what I need or I don't have enough of it. There was a woman on one of the crochet groups on fb that said she loves Herrschnerr's worsted 8. I really dislike the stuff and if she lived near I'd give it all to her. I have a ton of it.She said if she lived near she'd buy it from me. Believe me I'd gladly give it all to her. All it's doing here is taking up space.I guess I could make hats from it to donate. I'd make one and wash it to see if it got soft enough. I hate to give scratchy, harsh feeling hats or scarves. They should be nice and soft and squishy.Plus it would take me forever to make enough hats to use all that up. I guess I could see if Caps for Kids still meets and donate it to them...yep, great idea.
It's a beautiful sunny day and over 60. I haven't been for my walk yet because my back and stomach are both achy. I'll walk indoors later if I have too but it would be great to get outside before it turns back to winter.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - I hope you can get some work done on your BOM. I remember participating in those and I felt pressure to get them done all the time. I did enjoy most of the ones I was in, but usually by the end of them I was burned out. Hope it goes better for you. Ruth - Your weather sounds really nice, hope you are enjoying it. I hope you can get your craft cave set contents worked out. It feels so nice when it's done. The weather here has been cooler, but I've been enjoying it. I'm not looking forward to the hot weather that will come. I went out yesterday for some errands and had my older car serviced, since I need to keep it working. I figure if I get a few more years with it as my backup car I'll be happy. Then I can decide if I just want one car or I could buy a used car to replace it. It is nice to know that I have another car in case one is not working. I would be anxious if I felt I was trapped in my house with no vehicle. I haven't been doing any crafting. I took some needlework with me to the car repair place, but I was done so quickly I never got to work on it. I have been reading a book that is part of a series I've been reading for years. I hate to finish it because then I have to wait for the next one. It's so enjoyable to get to know fictional characters and become invested in their stories. Take care everyone!

It's raining! It seems so strange that it was so cold for sooo long, and then so much warmer. I hope it's snowing up the canyon so DD and DGKs can do a little more x-c skiing tomorrow.
My DD is very clever. Instead of saying that our dogs need grooming, she asked if they could take them to the groomer and bring them home. I said that had been thinking about a mobile groomer. Before I could turn around, she had already called and gotten all the information. So the groomer is now scheduled to come on April 20 and will do all the dogs except Willy. That's my DD's birthday present to me.
I looked at my sewing machine today!!

CJ, yes it's a good idea to have two cars even though you have a brand new one. you never know when some quircky thing might happens and you would need your backup car for a couple days. I'm not looking forward to really not days either but after suffering through frozen pipes and worrying about more frozen pipes I'm ready or more than ready for some spring and summer.I know it's not going to stay like it was today and last couple days though. Sue, how nice of your dd to arrange and give you dog grooming for a bd present! I do hope the weather cooperates so they can get in some more xc skiing while visiting. And, yes I knew you would fit right into our group....looking at the sewing machine as crafting Well after all the organizing of my craft cave, some cleaning of the living room, cooking and partly cleaning the kitchen and organizing a cupboard or two, I settled down to crocheting but instead of working on the gifts I decided to make hats so I made three. If I make two tomorrow that will catch me up for this month so far. One of the gifts I was planning for my sister was my infamous hotpads and potholder set but I found a set that I had already made so that's why I was able to take a day off and make hats instead.I still have a bit of organizing yet to do in the cave. the hats I made were mostly to use up that awful Red Heart Heads Up yarn.I think I may have one more skein of it down here in the bedroom but what I had upstairs is used up now and in fact the one hat might be a little short because I ran out. If I do have another skein it's red so won't work to make that hat longer. It's useable but not as long as I like to make them

Good morning all!
Ruth, what is so awful about Herschenerrs worsted 8? The FB friend who likes it, would she pay for you to ship it to her?
CJ- totally agree about reading a series....which is why I was ecstatic when I stumbled on the Chiavarini series after she had written them all- so I could just order them from the library and read through them all. Do you know when the next book is due out? And yes, some fictional characters become almost like family. Guess that is the sign of a good author.
BOM was fun and overwhelming. I have to pick up some supplies that will make my process easier, thankfully most of them are on sale today at Joanns- so I will order them and start working on the block in a few days. Also thankful that I have some gift cards to use....so it will not hurt my wallet all that much.
Babysitting today- will be back much later to checkin. G
