Judy those shots will do it to you. WE had the same deal. I had to pay 30.00 for my shot and CArl's was free. I told him to 'event the score' he owed me 15.00 and the pharmacist cracked up I was also tired after the shots. In your case it could also be the transition from vacation to work that added to the mix as well. Be kind to you. Be it EVER SO HUMBLE there's no place like home!!!! So happy to be back home again. After one short walk with Carl and LuLa, I plan on coming home, getting jammified and. just. be Sweet dreams, all!

I was in my Jammie’s by 6 pm, Ann. We had our leftover faux Mac and cheese topped with 3 bean veggie 0 pt chili. So good! I kind of O.D’d on starburst jelly beans at work but that’s done! Some things should never be within my reach.
Sue, was the show you watched The Village? It’s in right after my favorite This Is Us. I love that show!

Happy Thursday, WW Friends ~
Man! my days are totally messed up this week! I had to look at the calendar to see what day it was.
I am back from the cardiologist's office with DH. We had to wait over an hour after we got there, but had each other to talk to as well as the pregame show for Detroit Tiger's Opening Day game. The news was very good and exactly what we expected! We have known his cardiologist for a very long time, and his approach was as presumed, though it means so much more when he says it. DH does have A-Fib and the doc says since his vitals are normal and he has no symptoms, he wants to just watch him for now. He went for a blood draw before we left the building, and scheduled an Echocardiogram in a couple weeks. Other than that he will see his doctor again in June for his regular annual cardiology appointment. We were like two little kids leaving there, all giggly and almost skipping across the parking lot. Sometimes you don't realize how much something weighs on your mind until it isn't there anymore.
I have grilled six hamburger patties and two turkey burger patties and six chicken/gouda sausages. I ate one sausage for my lunch with some lima beans, then froze the rest of the meat for future lunches.
Judy ~ We also watch "This Is Us" and love, love, love it. I would like to watch "The Village" but it doesn't come on until 10 here and that is my bedtime. Last weekend we watched the first two episodes on On Demand, though, and enjoyed it very much. We have been following "The Voice" so we miss "911" and "The Resident" and soon "New Amsterdam" (when it returns) so we fill in our boring TV nights with those On Demand. It does help us keep up and keep us entertained :-) In fact, tonight is Thursday and nothing on that we follow regularly, so we'll be doing some catching up.
Ann ~ So sorry about your power outage! I get aggravated when it goes out long enough that I have to reset clocks unnecessarily! Hope you got to kick back and relax.....
DH went down to his friend's Shop to do some work for him and will probably be late getting home, so I will make lunches for tomorrow and start supper. I have to work in Child Care from 9:30 until 5:30 tomorrow, and will most likely be tired when I get home. Maybe I'll have him bring home something for supper???
BBL. Make a great day!

Hi to all! I think all the pollen from an oak tree at the camp got my sinuses in an uproar. I broke down and went to the doctor this morning and got a Z-pak, 2 nasal sprays and a steroid shot and I am already feeling less sinus pressure. Monday, I got laundry started and then headed to the office, coming home after several hours. DSIS' VBF came over to use our copier to make the copies she needs to reapply for her low rent apartment. She is still very depressed and prone to tears, but is working with her psychiatrist to get some new medication. They have had to change them again and I tried to encourage her to be patient. It takes time to find the right combo and 2 to 3 weeks for the system to adjust. She is also having bad problems with her vision which, if unresolved, may end her ability to drive and this has her fearful and upset. Her siblings are talking about letting her move back into their family home, just a few blocks from me and having her brother move in, too. I think this may be the best solution and I hope it happens. She lived there in the past, but problems with the stepmother ended that and the siblings didn't want to upset their dad who is in his 90's and in fragile health. Tuesday I did a full hospice day with team meeting and 3 intake visits. I was pooped when I got home. Yesterday, I fought with the medical billing service (an issue from last July, that is still unresolved after 4 phone calls, including a joint call with the insurance company), scheduled car maintenance for Monday, prepared a report on human trafficking for my Catholic Daughter meeting tonight and did some household chores before heading to the office to do paperwork for a couple hours. I went to choir practice and then to catch a make-up bible study session, since I missed my class on Sunday. I got home at 8:00 PM starving and really enjoyed the stir-fry DH made with leftover chicken breast, green beans and onions. Of course the scale went up 2 lbs. over night with all the sodium, lol. After my doctor's appt. this morning, I went by the office to send out a sympathy card. We said goodbye yesterday to the sweet man who grew up in my village that I have SO enjoyed visiting. He is with his wife now and the brother he told me about who died in childhood that he hoped to see again. I also got cards written for the families of those who died last April. That first anniversary is hard and we try to let them know their loved one hasn't been forgotten. Each card is mailed so that it is received on or near the anniversary date. I picked up my Rx and a few groceries and supplies before heading home for a late lunch of leftover chicken breast, baby carrots, hummus and a few pita chips. We will have sloppy joes topped with chopped onion, tomato and avocado for dinner with a few baked tator tots. I will probably wait until after my CDA meeting to eat, since I had a late lunch. I have been keeping up with all of you, even though I didn't squeeze in the time to post. I normally post in the evening and lately I have been too tired, lol. Thus, a late afternoon post for today!

Hi friends,
So good to see you, Pam! You have to be one of the busiest retired people I know! Your schedule makes my head spin and I admire all the good things you do. You are really doing your part to make this world a better place. Sorry about losing a favorite older friend. What a comfort to him to see his brother again. You can really sense your departed loved ones around you at times. Also, it sounds like you are doing a great job with your eating while so busy. Yay! Your comment about sending cards on anniversaries reminded me that I want to do that for my friend who lost her beloved husband one year ago April 17 which was two days past their wedding anniversary. She’s really struggling with sadness right now. Anniversaries are so hard - especially the first one.
Sue, what a relief to get good news from the doctor. That’s a huge load off you and your DHs mind! My DH saw his cardiologist yesterday and also received good news as far as his heart. No changes and continue the current plan and “see you in a year.” I also love hearing your meal selections and they gave me new ideas. I’m making a flank steak fajita recipe from WW tomorrow. I also have to do some baking of peanut butter chocolate squares for work. I’ll keep those tightly wrapped and away from sight. Thanks for the show recommendations, too! I’ve been streaming The Bletchley Circle in BritBox - one of my favororite channels on Amazon. I loved historical period type mysteries. You, too, have busy work days with the “kidlets!
Ann, yes jelly beans are evil! The rack up SPs fast! Isn’t it cold?
Yesterday I helped a dear friend/coworker celebrate her birthday over lunch. I ate a very low pt if not 0 pt Thai chicken lettuce wrap meal that was scrumptious and was able to split a cinnamon ice cream type dessert with her. Trying to find ways to make room for these celebrations!
Our liitle doggie Doug had his visit at the ophthalmologist on Wednesday. He is doing a little better and they want to see him again in a few weeks. They also recommended he might see a neurologist. DH and I feel that he is doing very well except for the Bell’s palsy bit of a droopy eye. He eats, happily romps around and acts perfectly normal and just the same as always. We decided to hold on off neurology unless things change and just stick with the Daily eye drops. we have a lot of home chores to do this weekend. We need to finish the bathroom touches and lots if yard and other work. Happy Friday!

Good morning all. Another night getting a good sleep I can face anything with that under my belt. Went to weight watchers last night to get my etool voucher and I was up .2 for the month! I consider that a maintain and will 'move on'. Keeping Doug in my prayers, Judy. So hard when a fur kid is under the weather. Great job on the bday celebration. There is always a way to add in for something like that. Sue great that you got such wonderful doctor news. I had to LOL at skipping to the car. Yes, it truly IS all about those little things that actually aren't so little. Nothing quite like good health! Pam I agree with Judy...you ARE one busy gal. Keep up the good work that you do as it's well appreciated. We have one couple here in our retirement community that has hospice coming for her....it's congestive heart failure. The doctor gave her 6 months. In the meantime her husband will be finishing his last round of chemo as he had bladder cancer. You just never know. Going to sit and plan my day 'food wise' and also plan for a snack after supper. I used to do this before and somehow did away with it. Time to bring it back Wishing all a wonderful day.

Good afternoon!
I am taking a lunch break from pre-company housecleaning. DH grilled some shrimp and baked stuffed crabs for our lunch. Tonight we will have fried fish dinners to help out the church youth group who is sponsoring the dinner and hoping to draw people in for their special Way of the Cross presentation afterwards.
I have crossed several items off my lengthy to-do list for today. I was up early to go to adoration, so got started right away. Most important item was to order the crawfish for Good Friday. Since we need over 200 lbs. of live crawfish to feed our family crew, we always need to order early. Easter weekend is a very popular time for crawfish boils.
We had already ordered one sack, approximately 33 lbs.,for Sunday evening. The weather is warm today, but mostly cloudy, which would have been perfect weather for Sunday. Instead, we are predicted to have severe thunderstorms all day Sunday. DH plans to boil the crawfish under the carport and we will probably have to eat indoors, a messy operation, best suited to outdoors. Oh well, we can't control the weather so will just have to line the dining area in plastic and hope for the best.
We are really excited as DD2 is bringing her new boyfriend, in addition to her out-of-town friends. This will be our first time meeting him. DD1 and family met him last week and liked him. After they had lunch together, they all went to DD1's where he helped Abby put together a puzzle and played board games with Anna. When I asked Anna if she liked him, she said, "He seems nice. And the best thing is, he sucks at board games, so I get to win!" That girl is fiercely competitive, lol.
I was up .4 at WI this morning and like Ann, I'm calling that a maintain. I have been so busy, I haven't been religiously tracking, but have tried to count up in my head and stay within reason. I have also tried to be mindful of the extra stress all this running around creates and get more sleep. Yesterday, I caught a nap, but it was late afternoon, which meant it was nearly 1:00AM before I got to sleep last night. I will not make that mistake today!
Judy - Glad to hear your fur-baby is doing better.
Ann - Your friend may actually live longer with hospice care because they can closely monitor and treat the fluid build-up which can be so problematic with CHF. That is what my mom had and when we thought she might have weeks left, she made it 9 months.
Sue - Great news about your DH! If they only knew how much we worry about them.
Well, time to get out the mop for the main floors. I still have bedrooms and bathrooms to go.

Pam glad you are taking a break from house cleaning. I 'thought' about doing it....but got side tracked Perhaps tomorrow or Sunday...I always find an excuse at times. That is a good point that you bought up re: CHF and hospce. Hopefully that will happen with Maria. Pam I call anything under 1# either up or down a maintain and I'm good with it! Our shopping is all done. Picked up yet another harness for miss LuLa and same deal....she wiggles her way out of this one as well as the one we ordered. This will go back to Marshalls either tomorrow or Sunday. Time to sit my lemon water. Wishing all a wonderful and OP Friday

Hi all again,
Wow, Pam 200lbs of crawfish for your family. That seems like a huge quantity. How many will that feed? Sounds like a great party! I’ll be right down! ✈️🤓🦐
My DH has CH issues and fluid buildup but we were told it can be a very long term condition. He takes his water pills and it keeps him stable. I’m sure there are more serious cases. My mom’s best friend had CHF for many years. Still it scares me hearing your friends prognosis. I understand all stages are different. I hope your friend does okay.
I’m watching HBO about Adnon Syed if anyone is familiar with the Serial podcast. Very interesting!
Tomorrow we’ll be doing home chores. I need to pick out some new curtains for the bathroom. I will make the flank steak fajitas.
I had my follow up eyebrow microblading done today. I really love the final results. Makes life easier to have no maintenance brows!
I wish you all a great night and see you tomorrow!

Judy - We are planning for 37 adults and older kids + a bunch of younger kids. This is a big deal in our family and everyone tries hard to make it. The little kids dye Easter eggs and have an Easter egg hunt. They decorate the driveway with chalk pictures and the boys have Nerf gun wars. The sons have taken over the boiling of the crawfish so my DH, DBIL and DBs can stand around, drink beer and offer their opinions. The daughters run the Easter egg dying and hunting, a tradition my mom, their grandmother, started with them. We have lots of snacks and desserts and throw all kinds of stuff into the pot with the crawfish--sausage, corn, potatoes, onions, garlic and mushrooms. Good Friday and Christmas Eve are the 2 "High Holy Days" for my family and we love getting together. My dad started the Good Friday crawfish boil tradition many, many years ago. Ann - Miss LuLa sounds like quite the escape artist! Is her middle name Houdini? I was able to finish the bulk of the housework, but have a few tasks to get done tomorrow. If I have time, I want to try making a Morganza cake to practice and for Sunday's dessert while there are lots of people around to eat it. I am supposed to make several for the Easy Rider celebration next weekend. Abby is scheduled to come for a sleepover tomorrow night and DH wants us to bake cookies with her tomorrow afternoon. She was coming here as the older kids had a track meet Sunday, but that may end up being cancelled due to the severe thunderstorms that are predicted. We'll let her come anyway. I'm going to read a little and head to bed. Sweet dreams all!

Good morning and happy Saturday. Sue I thought of you when I looked out the window and saw 'snow flurries' Judy did you get any? We have a few little patches where I can see snow, but nothing drastic.
I was also shocked by the amount of fish!!!! Then again if you are feeding that number of people you want to make sure there is enough to go around.
Judy happy your are pleased with the eyebrows. Is that painful to have done?
LOL Pam I should have called LuLa Mona as she moans all the time and 'talks' Boston to you...and Houdini as a middle name would fit her just fine!!!!! The harness will go back to Marshall's today. While there, I'll go to Hobby Lobby and walk the store to get in some steps.
Sue hope you enjoy a nice day with DH.
Will try to pop in later.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday! I never got online yesterday ..... in fact, I never even turned on my computer yesterday. I left here a little after 9 and didn't get home until almost 6 p.m. and to say I was tired would be an understatement. I spent the day with just around 20 Kindergarteners and we were short-staffed all the way around, so it was additionally stressful. But we made do and got the job done.
Judy ~ Glad to hear your DH also got a good cardiology report. I was not at all surprised with my DH's outcome as he has been on Coumadin for almost 25 years and his doctor's strongest suggestion was to remain on it (which he will due to his prosthetic heart valve) as that reduces the risk of stroke, which he explained is the biggest concern with A-Fib. He also laughingly told us at the end that if we live long enough, most of us will develop A-Fib. The only risk factor on the chart that applied to my DH was advanced age. Now that we have all the facts, we are very happy with our decisions.
Pam ~ Your crawfish boil sounds like a fantastically good time. Enjoy!! Our next big family gathering is on Easter Sunday and I am already looking forward to it.
Ann ~ I had to LOL about your little "houdini". Good thing you can take the harness back since obviously she doesn't think she needs it.
Thankfully, I had grilled plenty of burgers Thursday afternoon, because we ate two of them for supper last night. I got home very tired and just put the burgers together, along with some corn chips and guacamole. Now to figure out something for tonight?? I think I may have to make a run to Meijer this morning, as there are a few things on my list that I am going to need for the new week. Also I have plenty of strawberries (DH bought extra) on hand that I will slice up and sweeten for waffles in the near future.
BBL. Make a great day!!
