On this Mothers Day something my Mom told us kids keeps going through my mind. She'd say, "Show me your friends and I'll tell you want kind of a person you are."
That went for children as well as adults. Regular folks and world leaders too.

Good morning and welcome to a new week but the same old news.  At least it's a relief to know that Ivanka's shoes which are made in China won't be affected by the new tariffs. It would surely be a disaster if anything cut into her profit margin. Otherwise pretty much everything else is going to be affected. Just about everything at WalMart comes from China, and a lot of the JA's base do a lot of shopping at WalMart. Not that there's anything wrong with WalMart. In fact, I'm probably going there today as I'm looking for some new glasses (drinking not wearing ), but I'll bet you the majority of his followers have no clue that these tariffs are going to be paid by them not by the Chinese. They just love hearing the JA talk tough. Somehow that translates into making them feel powerful. |

I long for a normal day in a normal world. Somebody please tell me this isn't our new normal. A normal where smarts, thought, awareness, and common sense are replaced with cluelessness, meaningless babble, stupidity, blind worship, fear and hate.
I saw a woman on tv the other day who was a holocaust survivor. She said, "It started with words. It's starting again."

You're right Linda that Barr's joking is disgusting. Really, what could possibly be funny about shredding the Constitution? Congress can't let this entire administration get away with flouting their authority, and Don Jr isn't even part of the administration. Yet, I don't know what they can do that will have any teeth in it. Barr certainly isn't going to arrest himself, but every last one of them belongs behind bars in my opinion.

So very sorry to learn that President Jimmy Carter has fallen and broken his hip. He underwent surgery, and hopefully is recovering but a broken hip is not an easy recovery--especially not for a 94 year old.

Aww. Sending Good Vibes to President Carter. He's such a good guy and a decent man. I can still hear that accent and see that big smile when he said, "Hi! My name is Jimmy Carter and I'm running for president." People worried because he was a Christian and thought his faith might interfere with governing.
Now we have a sexual pervert in the number one place and the Evangecials adore him. WTH? Number 2 claims to be a Christian and yet has no problem being Number 2 to the lying, cheating, clueless, ego maniacal, traitor who is also a sexual pervert.
I had President Carter sign a book for me. He told me he liked my cap. I offered to give it to him and he just smiled. I told him it was an honor to meet him. That twinkle in his eyes were more beautiful up close.
Get well, Mr. President. You are one of a kind as well as a kind guy.

'We have back a progressive talk radio station in Madison Wisconsin. The last one ended right after the 2016 Election Day. It is fm too. I am so happy about this. We missed it trying to hear Milwaukee and Chicagos progressive talk on AM. I want to get a walkman again.
