Well, my first week is over and I fell from 240 to 231. Feeling good, paying much closer attention to my portion size. Haven't felt hungry at all, seem to be eating more as I'm eating less more often, if that makes any sense. Not really understanding the hate for Freestyle, as it's working, so far, for me, albeit it is very early in the process.

I'm glad it working out so well for you, and I hope you continue to be successful.
Every plan has had its detractors and its supporters. The important thing is to find what works for you.

Way to go Quark! Glad it is working for you. We have lots of lovers of Freestyle here, and lots that have gone on to other versions that they have been more successful with. Think of it this way, if this is working for you and they changed the program to another version tomorrow, you'd want to stick with the version that was working for you right?! No worries, feel free to brag away about your success on FS! * Wow it is nice and cozy here in itsrad's head* š¤£š¤£

WTG Quark. I followed every weight watcher plan and most worked well for me. I get in trouble when the ANN PLAN takes over

Not really understanding the hate for Freestyle, as it's working, so far, for me, albeit it is very early in the process. Congratulations on your success! There really isn't much to understand---Freestyle works for some but for others it has been somewhat of a disaster, for reasons that are specific to each person. Wishing you continued success and success to all, whatever path they choose.

Awesome!! Great Freestyle is working for you. I have no filter, so I was not successful with it. All the zero point foods were not my friend as I have no portion control abilities lol. . I use original points right now as almost all foods have points. So more structure works for me. But we are all different so I really think no matter what plan you use , you can be successful if it works for you š Great job!

Quark, congrats on your major first week loss.
I think freestyle is a difficult plan to be on when there is less structure if you're someone who needs more structure. I never thought that would be me but when I tried freestyle I didn't lose anything. Which means I ate enough calories to maintain and had no calorie deficit. I figured out that being able to have no count chicken breast and beans and eggs was pushing me just over the calorie deficit. I also have less to lose (I was aiming to lose 10 lbs) so I'm not yet convinced this is a good plan for those with less to lose. But definitely seems like a good plan for maintaining.
Good luck and stick with it. If it's working well for you that is great.

Not really understanding the hate for Freestyle, as it's working, so far, for me, albeit it is very early in the process. For me I think the āhateā stems from the fact that SmartPoints and Freestyle seem to be the most over-hyped plans WW has ever introduced. For other plans they hyped things enough to get existing members excited, but they really seemed to go overboard with SmartPoints/Freestyle blindness this time around (and still are despite the state of their stock). In my experience and my observations, those having success with Freestyle (but not you) seem to be unable to allow others to follow their own paths without denigrating them for not being āon boardā with everything Freestyle. As others have said, we all need to follow whatever path leads us to success. There is no WRONG plan, or OBSOLETE PLAN if it is a plan that someone can succeed on.

Sometimes I wonder too if the plan we're most successful on (or most motivated on since it's a chance for a new start) is the first one we ever tried on weight watchers. For me that was momentum. I was on board, full steam ahead, enthusiastic and highly motivated. I made it all the way through to goal and lifetime. I've always been a little sad that in each subsequent plan with weight watchers that I never felt that same enthusiasm ever again.

Congratulations, Iām so envious. I so wanted the plan to work for me but alas...at this weight, height and age, every calorie counts and the lack of structure and too many zero point foods was something I could not deal with...but Iām glad itās working for you and I wish you much more continued success.

Wow congratulations on a great first week!
I love, love, love Freestyle. It's a perfect fit for me.
Early on a leader said... if 2 eggs always satisfied you, don't start eating 4 just because they are 0. That REALLY was an ah ha moment for me.
Another thing that helps me and it's more mental than anything are the rollovers, they make me feel like I can earn back some points I overused the previous day or earlier in the week.
Something Freestyle helped me with was to slow the heck down..For years I'd fill the plate, eat until everything was gone. A-ok because it was all portioned and pointed. Now I eat slower, eat more mindfully, take a breather once in awhile to see if I'm still hungry or continuing to eat to empty the plate and YES there is a huge difference between the two.
It's a different mindset no doubt and requires honing in and sharpening a skill that's been sleeping in us most likely since we were kids.
You CAN do this!
