I must have weird dogs, lol. None of my dogs has ever been afraid of lightning, thunder, or fireworks. The only thing my old girl is afraid of is smoke alarms and we have no idea how that started. We figure the alarms went off when we were not home and were not able to disable them. They sometimes went off for absolutely no reason in Hawaii and we thought it might be because bugs or geckos set them off by walking on the sensors. lmenglish , sounds like you have your hands full with Miss Lucy! Is she crate trained at all? I know she is a bit older but she seems to be very puppy-like in her behavior. With all she has been through I guess you are starting from ground zero with her training. Best of luck with your girl! borntexan , hope you get relief for your knees soon. I have friends who have gotten those gel injections and have had great success with them.

Thanks fullmahina. I finally made a pest of myself and found out today they ordered the injections. It will only be one in each knee.I had those when I went to a different ortho last year and they didn't work as well as I would have hoped. After they get the injections in they will call me for my appointment.I'm glad because now it hurts in my thigh above my(I could say bad knee)but it's my worst knee.Hopefully these will work better whenever they come in.

I hope all in Texas stay safe! Another meeting here today in which nothing will get done. They've decided against a different placement for my girl with mental health issues, just more paperwork, discussion and nothing happening. SO frustrating.
Ready to go home and take a nap

82 and sunny so hate me! We may have rain tomorrow night but just thunder showers passing through at the most. We do dances for rain. I have my last club meeting of the year sure to be long with installation of new officers and farewell to the old board. The ladies talk to hear the sound of their voices and I have a hard time not getting bored saved only by my cell phone. Not sure how next year will go when I am corresponding secretary and at the dreaded head table where everyone will look at me Yes, I am a bad girl and have been since I was in school. Speaking of school, when I walked into the kindergarten class yesterday my grandson was sitting in the front of the class reading books to a captivated audience of classmates who clapped for him when he was done. When I take him home I lecture on the advantage of doing homework and reading first before playing Minecraft. My son says he and his sisters had nothing better to do than schoolwork because he didn't start on computers till he was six and in those olden days 33 years ago it wasn't as exciting as it is now. His degree is in American literature and culture. I hope you have a good appointment with the spine doctor, @doordie. zazzles demo for the kids' floors has taken a long time after it was discovered there was four layers of flooring in the house including aggregate. lmenglish I tell Lily Belle we are preparing for Westminster at the beginning of each day You have so much patience or so much wine to deal with Lucy's mischief Weather gods it is May and my friends above need sunshine and flowers. They had rain in winter.

Ready to go home and take a nap hpeterson1951 once you are at peace that you do your best at work and everything else is out of your hands, you must take care of yourself. I have a girlfriend with serious increasing mental health issues and after many sleepless nights, I have found peace with meditation, long walks and relaxation techniques.

fullmahina, Lucy is 10 months old. She has had 4 homes, so there had been no continuity in discipline. And she is crate trained thank goodness. I try not to put her in the crate, only when we leave our at night

Today the construction crew will get the plumbing and venting work done. Tomorrow will be demolition of the bathroom and the remaining floors that are being replaced. I really enjoy the construction pics, zazzles!

fullmahina , Lucy is 10 months old. She has had 4 homes, so there had been no continuity in discipline. And she is crate trained thank goodness. I try not to put her in the crate, only when we leave our at night Our puppy is now a little over five months old. She goes in the crate unless we can be with her on a continual basis. As should be expected, she is now starting to see her crate as a friendly "den," not a prison, lol, and has begun going in there to rest with the door open. Going into the crate when we ask her to is always non-negotiable, even in the presence of those puppy eyes! She has a crate in the living room and in our bedroom. My biggest fear with puppies is that they will get into something that will literally kill them. We puppy-proofed as much as we could but there is always that electrical cord or other thing that they can grab with horrible results. It's quite a worry. So far we have been lucky but I credit the crate training with most of our "luck." Poor Lucy must be so confused!! That lack of continuity and re-enforcement must have her little mind so messed up and I would imagine that she missed many opportunities to form bonds with humans. How did the poor thing end up in four different homes??

zazzles demo for the kids' floors has taken a long time after it was discovered there was four layers of flooring in the house including aggregate. Ouch. So far, knock on wood, they haven’t encountered anything unexpected. But then this house have little or nothing changed or upgraded since it was built in 1961. Hope the project picks up speed for your kids’ sake.

We had a golden that would panic so badly during storms that he would tear up the plasterboard and door jamb to get out of a room. He did 12 doorways

DebDoesWW I just saw news footage of Houston’s I read your post. Nothing preventative is ever done and the citizens suffer. I am so sorry you have to go through this after barely recovering from the previous hurricane damage.

Thank you everyone. I cannot believe it is going to continue until Sunday. The local river is predicting 1’ below flood stage by tomorrow at 7. IF it happens again I am done, packing up and moving anywhere else in the country. Somewhere DRY, very very DRY.
