Prayers for you DebDoesWW. We had thunder most of the day.About 12:40 here comes the wind, more thunder & lightning and then the rain. The wind has been so high we don't know exactly how much rain(It doesn't all go in the gauge) we got but it was more than the additional 1" it registered. There is no excuse for Houston not doing something after Harvey. The Highland Lakes will more than likely flood again.Lake Travis started out at 104% full before we got the 5" last Friday. We live in the country and people on the Next Door app said a couple of our roads were closed last night but hopefully they will be open tomorrow.I haven't even walked out of the house today. It's over here for tonight, predicting rain for tomorrow evening,Friday,Saturday. It looks decent for Mothers Day and then starts back with a 30% chance Monday. It's crazy. It may last another 7 days if not more.

borntexan, Some of the lakes and reservoirs in the Houston area were lowered this week, in anticipation of the upcoming rains. In Sugar Land, they received 10+ inches of rain in a short time. Also, the Brazos River was already full upstream from the rains it received. The Brazos River is known to flood as it moves from central Texas to the Gulf. This added to the water that Sugar Land had to deal with. Kingwood, on the north side of Houston, also received more than 10" of rain in a short period. It's a case of too much water, coming too fast. We spoke with a friend who lives in Austin and they are also soaked. He received more than 5" of rain in a few hours today and there was a lot of street flooding there too. Hopefully, we won't get as much as the weather guessers think. Stay dry!

fullmahina, we probably should have given that dog a beer! The hard part was that we both worked and couldn't be there to comfort him So much was bred in Arizona and the first family flew her to Ohio for their autistic son. Lucy kept nippinghim so they gave her to a single mom who worked full time😱. The older couple we got her from have her up because the husband got sick. The vet was surprised that they even took her because of their age. We are determined to get her broken in!

lmenglish , wishing you the very best of luck with Lucy. Of course she nipped---she was a PUPPY!! One of the most memorable parts of puppy-raising is the NEEDLE TEETH, lol! DH is on blood thinners and for the first few weeks of lil' Rosie we went through a lot of bandaids! Now she is five months old and rarely nips but when she does she darn near corrects herself. You can almost hear her say "OH NOOOOOO!!!" when she does it. She gets a look on her face like OMG I screwed up sorry sorry sorry!!! Gotta laugh. It looks like Lucy never got the understanding and consistent training that she deserved. Puppies are a LOT of work and frankly, knowing Lucy's early months, she is still very much a work in progress. She must be so confused but once she starts to trust you I bet you will see a wonderful dog emerge.
