Good morning! I think we have almost the same weather, diva49, but it was 42 degrees here this morning when we went out with the dogs and chickens. Beautiful now, 54 degrees, sunny and the winds have died down. Something (probably rabbits because it happened overnight) totally stripped the two little Montauk daisies I transplanted in front of the shed so I need a new plan for those little beds. Almost everything hates bee balm so I will get some dwarf bee balm and see how that goes. Our big dog goes for grooming today and the rest of the day I'll be continuing with yard work, etc, etc, etc. Wishing all a good day...KOKO.

Almost everything hates bee balm DD has a deer/bunny problem at her home (Colonia NJ - suburbs not rural, but lots of critters) - I am passing this along!

I'm IN too, diva49,. But, the forecast in Houston is....90! Whoa. It was 77 when we started our walk at 6:30 a.m. so the summer heat is on until what, October, November, who knows! Missing my WW meeting this morning as I watch the stubborn scale sitting in my red zone. Guess I'll go to Costco instead. That is all.

I'm in. Morning all Beautiful day here too. Hoping to finish the "get ready for summer" projects before the holiday weekend. I was flat out yesterday with my back but, I'm feeling a bit better now. Hope everyone enjoys the day! diva49, love your new pic. fullmahina, diva49, we had an ongoing problem with the deer munching plants and bushes. DB#1 lives on 7 acres of woods and suggested using Liquid Fence once a month and it has really helped. It does have a bad odor but, it quickly dissipates.

I did use it on a Rose of Sharon which they managed to almost strip last year! It's been strange this year---something nibbled some daffodil leaves which has never happened to me before. I guess if they're hungry enough they'll eat anything!

I clapped my hands at them to scare them off but, The truth is, the real damage happens when we're sleeping. The neighbors with arborvitae rows are deer-bit on the bottom third of every tree. It was always so nice to have them wander through the yards from time to time. We once had a dozen lying down in the back at dusk and I was mesmerized. Fingers crossed you don't lose anymore goodies to the critters.

Hi all, Thanks for all the hugs and support yesterday. The kiddo is doing better but needs a new inhaler and epi pen with Dr. script to come back to school. Mom can't get him to Dr. because he doesn't have vaccines and hasn't been to a Dr. in TWO years!.
She takes him to Urgy cares only and has been to Hershey med center because they are looking for an auto-immune disease or possible bone cancer that is causing bone pain. But she won't take him to a regular Dr. for well visit checks
This is just a mess! How can you not take a child with a history of asthma and P-nut allergies to a Dr?
So he's not in school today.
If my mother tells me one more time I'll "never understand the love a mother has for her child" I'll scream. Just because these children don't come out of my whoha doesn't mean I don't love and care for them with every breathe in my body!
No offense meant to those of you who are moms. I just hate having to start everything I say with "I know I'm not a mom, but..."
Sorry, had to rant!

Heather you're probably a better "mom" than I am the way you care for your special needs students!

And wait a minute. The kid is not vaccinated?? How is he able to be at a public school?

He has a "religious Exemption". Mom signed a form saying "religius reasons" but then said "due to possible link between Autism and vaccines I feel it could be dangerous to his health".
Most kids in my room are not vaccinated

But if autism is a concern and they already have it, why not just get the vaccines? Crazy how they use religion as the excuse when that's not the real excuse to begin with.

finreporter,- you are so right. It's not going to make anything worse, expect let them get sick with diseases! And you are a good mom! I was just venting because people (mostly my mom) think I'm not maternal and watching that mom in the hospital versus what I was doing was just crazy! I can't tell you the number of times I've cried over these kids. They are "mine"

It's even more maddening to see that the mom wouldn't comfort him when he was in the hospital but has this faux concern over vaccines and pretending she's avoiding them to protect him when it sounds from your description like she couldn't really care less.
I admire your bond with your students and your strength for the job you do!
