Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today We had a hot and humid day yesterday, but today it was cooler (still in the 80s) and less humid. I had the windows open for a part of the day and there was a slight breeze. I haven't been doing much of anything but reading books on my Kindle. I don't think I'll be going to the quilt show this weekend, but there's another one next weekend that I know I will go to, so I can wait. The one this weekend is so big anyway, sometimes it's not a pleasure. I liked it best on the years when there were quilting things (fabric, notions, etc.) I was looking for that I couldn't find in the local stores. And also there were a lot of unique things to find too. I'm hoping that June will be a better month for me to work on some quilting and needlecraft projects Hope you are all getting some crafting in. Take care everyone!

Well, CJ- I did not get any crafting in today either.....hope that you get your momentum back to craft again soon. Is next weeks quilt show also a good one to attend?
Phyl, hoping you can sleep well....I do not like SB coffee either.
Sue, so sorry that you have to have another toe worked on. I will continue to pray that this heals quickly.
Ruth, did you come up with your master craft list?
I am super tired, long day for me. Got home around 9 from setting up for the shower tomorrow.
Have a great night all g

Sue it sounds like you really have a good tenant for your duplex. I'm sorry too taht you have to have work done on yet another toe.
CJ, well you'll get back to crafting. When you go to the quilt show and see all the great things there that will inspire you but I do hope you'll be able to work on some during htis week alsol
Ginny, yes with babysitting and then setting up for the shower you really have had a long day. I hope you get a good rest.
I did crochet before dh got up and then we went out shopping. I haven't got back to it yet but will when I'm done here. Dh is a little grumpy as I expected. He was still tired, plus all his pain, and also he didn't eat and his blood sugar was probably low. After we got home we did a few things after putting away the food...he cooked chicken, I made ahuge pot of chili.some of which will go in the freezer. And we talked about maybe taking a little trip sometime soon. I'm not sure where right now.

Good morning!
Ruth, I hope that today is a better one for you and that any grumpiness that Dh is feeling today has passed. Indeed I do understand how sometimes its just easier to run errands by yourself (you had mentioned that earlier). What is he in pain from? (And its ok if its not my business). Planning a trip can be fun, if its somewhere you both would like to go visit and the change of scenery improves moods. Lots of times I go along with those excursions just to accomodate that my Dh has to be out doing something a lot of the time, even though I am content being home. Glad you made chili with enough to freeze for later! yummmm....and an easy meal or two in the future.
Got the bridal shower today, and I am exhausted thinking about it. I know I am babysitting the grandkids during it, really DGD#1 and DGS will be fine and need little help. DGD#2 will be my challenge, but she is very good for me, I am not concerned. I am a no fuss kind of person, and asked for no shower at all when we got married and had kids- I just felt that all this was over blown- too much work and imposed on others too much. Still feel that way. But I know DD #1 has put in a LOT of work for this day for her sister and will help out as much as I can. I know when I say this that the end of this journey means that we lose our Dd#2 to marriage and that she will no longer be a part of our daily lives, and that makes me sad. But I also will be happy when all this is over and some kind of normalcy can return to our lives....oh well, better get started with my day. Ginny

I hope you enjoy your day, Ginny, despite the fact that you will be kind of "working" taking care of baby and helping with the shower. I never went in for those things either. My coworkers did have a small baby shower for me for both children but they were very small and informal. No bridal showers. Oh and Ginny, you asked about my master list of projects...yes I have everything written down that I need to do and the cross afgan that I want to do. There are so many other things I want to make also. I saw a picture of a beautiful wall hanging on fb posted by the woman who made it. She plans on sharing the pattern but I think she is planning on selling not giving it free. If she doesn't charge too much I may have to buy it. It has a cross and a dove and is a corner to corner type which I've done only one time before. This one is rectangular which I've never done. It's more complicated than the square c2c.
Sue, what a great video of your daughter. I always had an interest in grammar also and I see that she mentions diagramming sentences. I used to love doing that. Of course I've forgotten a whole lot of that now. I used to be extremely good in spelling too but now sometimes I actually forget how to spell some things. ON the computer I mostly spell ok but typos make it look like I can't spell.
It's a beautiful day here. Dh is in a much better mood and he's in his cave making plans. I just want to know the final results and where I need to drive to. I do all the driving.
My back is really acting up so I'm going to take it easy today and mostly sit and crochet. It's mostly muscle spasms but also just aches when I'm sitting.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Sue - How neat, is your daughter the actual grammar lady? I was wishing I could ask this lady a question about capitalization of some words I love Steve Hartman's On the Road segments, I watch for them every week. They always bring a smile and/or tear to me and they are always uplifting. Ginny - Hope the shower goes well and your daughter enjoys it. I'm sure she'll get some nice things to start her new married life. The quilt show next weekend is smaller but still has about 20 vendors and some nice quilts. They also have a big area where guild members donate fabrics/notions, etc. to sell and I've found some good buys there. It's also an easier drive for me. Ruth - I hope your back starts feeling better soon and that you do get a chance to get away somewhere. It's warm here today, but not humid. I'm staying inside tough and only had to turn on my AC this afternoon. It's nice to leave if off in the mornings when I can. I've been reading a few books that were part of a series, I'm starting the last one now. I do hope to get in some quilting. I'm trying to do just a little of something every day in June, we'll see how that goes Hope everyone else is getting some crafting in. Take care.

CJ, It's much nicer when there's low humidity for sure. I think it's humid here today which it usually is not. In fact we're having a thunder storm right now...no rain, just thunder. I hope you find some nice things at the quilt show and at a good price. That craft fair that I think I mentioned the ohter day was today but I forgot about it. Probably wouldn't have gone to it anyway.
I've been reading a book the last few days too. The Wedding Guest by Jonathan Kellerman. I like his and his wife's books...well most of the ones in their series' that is. The other ones don't ever seem very appealing, at least not to me.Some of the ones in her series kind of got off track and weren't what I wanted to read. His series is better.

Happy Sunday!!
Sue, thanks so much for sharing that awesome video of your daughter! Indeed, she has a passion for grammar and those that do are normally adamant about it. My sister is also a grammar freak, she teaches ESL and is a big proponent of diagramming sentences also. How much longer does she plan on traveling across the country like that?
Ruth, so glad to hear that Dh is in a better frame of mind. Perhaps planning a get away is helping hime stay upbeat. Resting your back sounds like an excellent idea. Did you do something to irritate it or does it just act up periodically? That wall hanging must be magnificent! It would sure be nice if you could get the pattern for free. I can imagine that the rectangular c2c would be more difficult than a square, because it is not symetrical.
CJ- hoping for great weather for the quilt show next weekend! In my book, smaller with and easier drive is the way to go. You will probably enjoy it more because you are not rushed and stressed from a long drive. Hoping for good weather for you this week. A few miles north of you, I know we are supposed to get a humid day or so mid week. Yuck
The shower was great. Dd put in SO much work to it, food was great, venue lovely, games were good and things went pretty smoothly. Dd was surprised too...one of her fiancees family dropped a slight hint, but she thought it was going to be today.
Got a dilemma....working on the last block for this month and I do not have enough fabric for the flying geese border. So I have all my fabrics out and am trying to see if I can use another fabric (the fabrics that came with the BOM). The center pinwheel came out very well, so I am hesitant to start over and make a new pinwheel with new fabrics.
In my mind I am resolving the issue.....will figure something out.
Ok, hope to bbl G

Ginny, I sure hope that you can figure out something for the flying geese border and well, to tell you the truth, I really think you will. I'm glad the shower went well. I hope she got some wonderful gifts but even more importantly that she and everyone else had a great time and it sounds as if they did.
The back problem this time was because of trying to pull out the pull out couch for my sister to sleep on because dh was sleeping and I wanted it to be pulled out because I wanted to go to sleep myself. I ended up having to wake dh anyway because after trying several times and feeling the strain on my back,I never did get it to budge. Then the next day she was leaving so I ended up going out to the garage and digging out a large piece of luggage because with all she bought it wouldn't fit in the one she had with her then I had to carry it all out to the car and lift it out of the van when we got to the airport. It was heavy. Now if I wasn't so stubborn I would have taken aspirin yesterday. Took some today and it really worked well.Yesterday was the worst day and it's been over a week since I strained those muscles. Today I'm going to finish the baby blanket. I did one row of edging yesterday and will do the second one today then weave in ends and it will be done.I don't know you any of you ever saw the Lion Brand patterns for a Bunny Blanket Buddy or not. They have them in both knit and crochet and originally they were made with a yarn called Velvetspun which was discontinued. I know it will be great using Bernat Blanket yarn so I'm going to make one of those each for my greatgrandaught4er and her expected little sister.

Hello Crafters Ginny - I'm glad your DD had a nice time at the shower, sounds like it was fun for all. I hope you can figure out something with the fabric situation. I know I've had a few quilt blocks where I ran out of fabric and just had to substitute. Good luck Ruth - I looked up that Bunny Blanket Buddy - it's so cute!!! I've used the Bernat Blanket yarn for several projects and I really like it. Hope your back is feeling better today. I haven't done any crafting this weekend, but I'll check out the blogs linked at Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching website. I love to see what people are working on. Take care everyone!

Thank you CJ. I did make one thing with the blanket yarn...a little blanket. It came out really small so I think it would be good as a car seat blanket or a lapgan.I also made the water balloons that everyone seems to be making now with it.I think it will be perfect for the bunney blanket buddy.Of course I'll do the crochet one. Well the baby blanket is all done. This is the rectangle granny made with baby yarn. It's fairly small too. Just the right size for putting over baby while feeding her or just a light blanket when in a little seat or carrier. So now I'm going to get the yarn and start the bunnies and see what happens. So you're crafting today too CJ. Looking at sites counts as you know

I'm glad you enjoyed the clip. Ginny, DD will probably be traveling for six weeks. I think! I'll let you know when the book is published! Supposed to be fall of 2020.
Are today's showers the same as ours were?
The sun was shining when I woke up this morning, but a scattered T- storm just passed through.
After doing battle with dandelions in the veggie garden, I'm ready to snooze for a while! The sun felt really hot even though the high was only 75. I'm no longer a warm weather person.
I hope your back is better soon, Ruth.
