Hey all,
Watching the Bruins in the Stanley Cup and enjoying the exciting game!
Our Blue Apron WW meals arrived today. Next week we’ll start on the Tuesday schedule. We both loved tonight’s meal. Italian chicken breasts with a pesto rice and zucchini. Delicious and easy to prepare. At least I won’t have to figure “what’s for dinner” every night! Three nights will be figured out with no wasted and perfect portion control. Tomorrow is a salmon dinner. 🐟 I’ll give feedback. My DH loved it tonight and said it was just like a good “Judy” dinner. Lol
Ann, what color are your nails? Glad your new place is nearby. You have the walking routine down pat, lieutenant Colonel Ann! 🤣🇱🇷 Disciplined! I am aggravated with my knitting mess up but it’s all a learning experience. I’ll figure it out.

Good morning all. Slept well and happy for that blessing We are getting together with another couple later today. Always a good time when we are with them. Not sure what we'll do...to be decided So happy that you and DH enjoyed your 'Judy meal' I like that it is easy to prepare with no 'thinking involved'. That's the best part. I chose a soft sparkling pink for my nails. It looks pretty. It has a coral tint to it. LOL to lieutenant colonel Ann that fits me. Waving and will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
I am slowly but surely getting back to normal, with that "spacey" feeling dissipating a bit at a time. Yesterday was an easier day at work, and I had enough energy to go shopping afterward. I had a $5 Kohl's cash coupon that was going to expire at the end of the month. I tried on several tops but only one fit the way I wanted (and I have new pants to match it). When I went to cash out, the gal scanned my Kohl's cash and told me "that covered you" and I was perplexed. Then she told me the top scanned at $3 so I actually had $2 left over <LOL> I hadn't found the top on a Clearance rack and it didn't have a Clearance sticker, so I have no idea .... but my receipt showed it was 90% off. Must have been meant to be. I went back to see if there was another one, but it had been on a rack with some other styles, so I took my treasure and left. Nothing quite like a free top!!
Thanks for all the positive feedback about meeting the ambulance at the hospital. We were leaning toward that anyway, especially if we were not together from the get-go. But that horror story surprised me and I am glad to know that is not the norm!! DH is also feeling better with each passing day. He was somewhat grumpy last night, but he attributed it to the discontinuation of smoking (now 1 week in).
We are back in our routine with poached eggs this morning (mine with grits and his with toast). Last night I tossed two big salads and topped them with slivered almonds and imitation krab meat. I think tonight will be leftover roast of beef with mashed potatoes and green peas, but that's up in the air.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all, Another cool, cloudy day but it is supposed to warm up to 70 later. Woot! Woot! When I complain, my DH reminds me that often there is frost in May and we have not had any of that. My DH "gardener-residence" always says you are not to plant until after the last full moon in May after the last frost around here. Sue, we definitely have to go shopping together. I need your shopping magic on my trips! Most all my shopping is online and I do take advantage of coupons and sales and free shipping. Talbot's had a flash sale of 50% off plus I had a $25 coupon so I combined both to get a great deal on a really pretty pair of turquoise sandals and an embellished tunic type top in white that I loved with the 3/4 sleeves. I had a turquoise pair from Talbot's that I bought many years ago and they are falling apart but I have kept them because I love them. Hoping the new ones pan out. I'm pretty much done with shopping for the summer - at least for me! I don't need a thing. Grandchildren may be another story but I really don't buy them a lot of clothing. They have plenty. Just fun stuff like an elephant patterned dress for my DGD who is obsessed with elephants. Sue, I'd say a bit of grumpiness is well worth the benefit of giving up smoking. Hooray for your DH! That is such a very hard thing to do. My DB gave up smoking in December. I am so proud of him. He was a "sneaky" smoker and never smoked around family or us, but of course, we all knew as he would disappear for walks, etc. at gatherings and we could smell the smoke. His wife, my DSIL, had the awful health scare earlier this year and that sealed the deal for him. I'm cheering for your DH. Keep up the good work!! That tin box is fickle. Today I am down 2 lbs from yesterday. Go figure. As you said, Ann, all kinds of things throw weight one way or the other. Ann, love those sparkly pink/coralish nails! Have a great day!

Judy I too do a lot of online shopping. Easier than going there lol. Amazon has a great return policy also.
Smoking is a hard habit to break. I was a smoker and quit just before 9/11. If that didn't have me light up I can say I'm cured lol.
Enjoy the day all.

Judy ~ My DH was also a sneak smoker. He never fibbed about it, when we went to the doctor together he would answer "yes" and admit to 1/2 pack a day. But he never smoked around me or at home, just in his truck and at his Shop. It wasn't that he was dishonest, he just respected my declaration years ago that if he didn't mind making me a widow prematurely at least he shouldn't add insult to injury by doing it in front of me. That must have made an impact on him because he's kept it very much to himself. Even his VBF said that when they go Up North together he never even noticed my DH smoking - he was so used to covering it up. I do hope the grouchiness passes quickly. I remembered last night that when I quit 25 years ago I used to suck on Life Savers. I always carried a pack of Butter Rum and Wild Cherry (my two favorites) with me and when in a situation where I used to light up, I'd pop a Life Saver instead. I even remember being in a mall with my daughter when she wanted to stop for a smoke break, and I popped a Life Saver which amused her to no end.
Yes, that tin box is fickle! Many times I have weighed in and then the next day drop a pound or two!?!
I also love online shopping, especially with free shipping - or at Kohl's where I can pick up at the store the next day or so. I bought my good black capris that way at The Loft when they sent me an email with 50% off and free shipping. I needed a black dressier pair and knew their fit so ordered them and they are perfect!! I am now finished shopping also. I just had to spend that free $5 yesterday and looked for one more new top.
I am beginning to look forward to the weekend as we are going away for DH's birthday!!

I'm enjoying our back and forth conversation a lot today! You ladies are so nice and so much fun.
Sue and Ann, count me in as an ex-smoker. I quit at aged 22 but I had a very good habit going by then with a pack a day. We could all smoke at our desks at work - remember those days?! My weak chicken lungs brought on yet another case of bronchitis then and I remember it was MLK day when I decided that was it. I had to be done. Being as sick as I was made it easy to quit at first, but for me, I had to also give up wine and coffee for a couple months because they went hand in hand with cigarettes. I remember dreaming about smoking and trying to stub out cigarettes in my dreams. I was addicted for sure. Even now, years and years later, if I catch a whiff of cigarettes, I think I would find it pleasurable to smoke again EXCEPT for the hair/clothing odor. If I did not know it was terrible health-wise, I'd probably still be smoking. I had a puff on a cigarette about 20 years later at my cousin's beach party and thought, oh no, I can't get into this. That was it. So, I fully understand how hard it is. My brother had been a sneaky smoking since college and he is 60 and just quit. I hope your DH finds his own little "hacks" to make it easier. Lifesavers, candy, gum, whatever works. Is he using a patch? I think my brother did try that for a bit.
Have fun on your weekend getaway, Sue.
Ann, I love Amazon shopping, too! I am reading a new book now that I am enjoying. It is called The Marinara Murders. LOL About a detective who teams up with his mother to solve a crime so it's funny and pretty well done. TTFN

I can remember looking frantically through my handbag in search of my cigarette case long after I quit. Quitting was the hardest thing I've ever done.
Thanks for the book title. I'm about to start The Accident by Natalie Barelli.

Good morning all. Slept well but again woke up early. Not sure why I am doing this lately. I feel tired toward the middle of the day and end up napping rather than reading.
Our weather is overcast and a big foggy. Supposed to clear up and hit the 70's again. I'm hoping they are right.
Nothing really planned. Carl is going to assemble a rack that he picked up at Ocean State Job Lots to better organize his leather work and wood burning tools. They are very s l o w l y taking over the room LOL. I have a few projects to keep me busy.
Wishing all a wonderful OP day and will CBL.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I am off school today and have some errands to run plus my haircut and then lunch with my GF/hairdresser afterward. I am looking forward to it very much. I plan to make Strawberry Waffles with turkey sausage patties for supper.
I got all the laundry done yesterday so everything we own is clean. Our weather is predicted to be near 80 today but then returning to only 75 tomorrow and low 60's for Sunday. At least we're going to have sunshine. I am SOOOO looking forward to our get-away. We are headed to Frankenmuth (MI) tomorrow morning with overnight reservations at The Bavarian Inn (which has 4 pools, 2 water slides, an arcade, etc). I hope to play a game of Putt-Putt golf outdoors while we're there.
Tomorrow we have a lunch reservation at a quaint place called "The Old Christmas Station" that I discovered with my Red Hat group and cannot wait to share with DH. It is European style food and everything is cooked to order. Then we have a dinner reservation at the Bavarian Inn restaurant for their "world famous family style chicken dinner". There is shopping and sight seeing in-between, and then Sunday dinner at Cracker Barrel on the way home.
Judy ~ I have to agree that I also enjoy the back and forth chatting on our thread. It is almost like having you both close by. I learn so much and get so much support and good times!!
Next week is our last week of school and I am looking forward to a break. I did accept a sub job for Child Care on the 20th (2 weeks later) last night. I had signed up for subbing which enables me to pick and choose the dates I want to work. I enjoyed that last Summer.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all,
It's a wonderful day today - just perfect weather and makes me wish I were not working! But, I plan to have lunch outside at one of the umbrella tables with my knitting group. Actually, I am eating my lunch now so that I have more time to knit. I have a chicken salad sandwich on the 647 bread made by Schmidt's Old Tyme. I recently discovered it at the Big Y and it is only 1 pt per slice and tastes more like "real" bread than any I have tried! I bought two loaves yesterday - one whole wheat and one Italian. With chicken salad, I still love Italian white bread. Our second Blue Apron WW meal was so delicious last night. It was a salmon coated in a great seasoning done on top of the stove with roasted potatoes and green beans that were in a nicoise type sauce with sweet red peppers, scallions and olives. No waste of any food and all made quickly. We decided that, of all the food delivery programs we have tried, Blue Apron is the best. I tried the Chef'd on that Weight Watchers had teamed up with a few years ago and it was too, too bland. It was all stuff I could have made at home with no help at all. These new ones have zing to them, are inventive and very flavorful yet still very easy. And you don't need to buy a boatload of seasoning for one recipe. I'm sure we will save money!
I hired a cleaning person to help me tomorrow here at home to get ready for family and summer. It is worth its weight in gold to me to have someone once in a great while come in and do a deep cleaning. I just don't have the energy or inclination to do it and no TIME. But, I sure love a clean house. She will concentrate on the floors, oven, guest bedroom and bathrooms. I will continue to clear out some stuff in the bedrooms and around and just straighten up. The dogs and my DH will be at the Cape and he (not the dogs, lol) will install the new dishwasher. DH will either come home tomorrow or Sunday but it works better if we divide and conquer this weekend! If I were there, I'd be anxious about getting this house in shape. Besides my DS, DDIL and the baby arriving Thursday, we have other company coming here in the next month with a niece, nephew, a friend, etc. I feel relieved to get help. My mom always had a weekly cleaning lady - I had one years ago, but then we just started doing our own thing. When DH was retired, he was our best cleaner. LOL
Ann, I am with you. I get tired by mid-afternoon. I am noticing that as I get older, I just do not have the same energy and require more restful times. I would love to have a catnap every day if I could. Even 15 minutes around 3 PM. Oh, the Marinara murder book is good. Beautyman and Beautyman is the detective agency - a mother and son! I have a long list of books on my Kindle on loan. I will read a biography of the Wright Brothers next by David McCullough. He requires more concentration on my part but I like him. The Wright Brothers home was very close to my own childhood home in Dayton (Oakwood) Ohio and i used to walk by it every day on the way to school. Beautiful big estate. Then NCR (National Cash Register Co.) bought it and used it for VIP guests. My dad and my grandpa both worked for NCR for years and years.
Sue, your weekend sounds awesome at Frankenmuth. I googled it and it looks wonderful!!! I hope you have great weather and lots of fun. The meals sound fabulous. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Hi girls. I was out enjoying a wonderful hood walk up until I was bitten on my left ear by a black fly. My ear is beet red swollen and I just popped a Benadryl to help with the itching. I've already told Carl that I will not be walking anytime soon...until this ear feels better.
I'm now going to sit in in the screen room with a large glass of ice water and my kindle.
If I'm not back online, you'll know that the pill knocked me for a loop. That normally happens.
Judy enjoy sitting outside with your knitting group. It truly IS a wonderful day out there! Enjoy your book. Sounds like a winner.
