Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Memorial Day!! DH and I got to come home yesterday afternoon, and he really enjoyed his first night sleeping in his own bed – AND sleeping the night through without nurses and techs waking him repeatedly. He found it very difficult to get any sleep in the hospital.
Judy ~ Thanks for the reminder about 911. Our PCP mentioned that to us as well, and we just talked about it last night. Next time he has an “episode” (hopefully never) he will call 911 and then call me to meet him at the hospital.
Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts and prayers. They mean the world!! We sat and watched a movie yesterday afternoon then caught up on some of our favorite shows we missed this week – then went to bed a 8 p.m.
Today we are going to the holiday Alkathon (as usual) 10 a.m. meeting, then plan to go out to DH’s VBF’s house to see his litter of Boxer puppies, then back home. We have all-beef franks to grill and red-skin potato salad for our holiday “feast”.
It is great to have him home!! I feel a bit sad that we “lost” our holiday weekend, but we do have a get-away planned for next weekend for his birthday, so we have that to look forward to.
Gotta run for now. BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue so happy to hear that DH is resting comfortably at home. I can SO RELATE to the missed sleep of being in the hospital! Enjoy those boxer puppies and your 'dogs' LOL.
Waving to all and wishing AWF once again a Happy Memorial Day.
I need to unplug and get a move on.

Sue, hooray-you are home safe and sound and I’m sooo happy all is well. You both must still be very tired. There is no rest to be had in the hospital. I’m glad you’ll have a planned getaway soon and so glad your DH is back to himself.
We had a glorious weekend weather wise. Today was even nicer than yesterday. We did leave the Cape by 1 or so because we needed to shop for a new dishwasher for the Cape. Fun fun. Anyhow, after searching the stores, we found what we wanted though not in stock so we ordered online for a Friday delivery. Kenmore elite model and one of the top of the line since we keep dishwashers forever. Sales were great at 40% off plus an extra $70 in bonuses etc. I learned that Whirlpool makes most of the top brands other than Bosch. And I learned that GE is not the one to buy these days.
We we had lunch out and DH is very tired now after many hours of working in his flower gardens. I did more chores..cleaning and such and walked the dogs and visited with neighbors. We also purchased a new large indoor/outdoor carpet for our Cape patio. So much to do to get ready for summer. We could have stayed all week and not finished but that’s how it goes. I’m very glad we had a little fun with our friends Sat pm as that was our main social event. It’s hard with no family around.
I hope you all all enjoyed the day. Ann, the chicken BBQ sounded fun!

Judy so happy you and DH enjoyed this great weather at the cape. Nice that you scored a deal on the dishwasher.
We had a great time hosting. It was great spending time with such upbeat folks.
Tomorrow I shall hit the reset button once again.

Good morning all. Slept well and woke up to no rain...yet! Hopefully the day won't be a complete wash out. We had a wonderful time yesterday...today it's back on track for me Judy I keep forgetting to mention that starting this Thursday, Ocean State Job Lot will offer a 25% discount to seniors I think you mentioned that your DH enjoys picking up a few things there. Other than a trip to the library and Hannaford's nothing much is on our agenda. Will CBL...wishing all a great and OP Tuesday. To me it feels like Sunday.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday! We got to do everything we hoped yesterday and enjoyed it all. DH's VBF came over and brought salt and refilled my water softener (which was the only need we had) and visited for a bit, then we went out to his house to play with the puppies. They are SO CUTE!! Four of them almost 7 weeks old and full of energy! The purchaser of one of them came to visit and brought his whole family, so we had lots of company. We stayed a while then headed back home in time to do a couple of things around here. I have caught up on the laundry and DH planted my basil plant that he brought me for Mother's Day into its own "Basil" hand-painted pot and put it out on the patio. He also weeded a bit in the side flower bed.
We ate our first meal outdoors so declared that Summer had officially begun at our house. I cooked the hot dogs that I had sampled at Sam's Club - and he declared it was the best dog ever! They were a good find. We watched a bit of TV and then took a short walk before bedtime. I already had a night tee on, so I pulled on my sweat pants and a vest over top and it cracked him up that I went "walking in my nightgown". It was right about dusk and no one was out - but I was still covered <LOL>
Judy ~ Good job on finding the perfect dishwasher. Most of my appliances are Kenmore and I have always had good luck with them. I did know at one time that Whirlpool made them, but thanks for the reminder. Glad you got to enjoy your weekend at the Cape.
Ann ~ My days are all mixed up as well. The holiday would have thrown me off anyway, but being in the hospital for days really messed with my mind. DH and I are still trying to remember what happened each day.
My DH dug out his old Cardiac Rehab T-shirt from 13 years ago and wore it today. It still looks brand new, and I just had to get a picture of him in it. The gal from Cardiac Rehab came to his room (actually we were walking in the hallway) to drop off a brochure and invite him - even after we told her he had done the program and was a graduate. She did give us a hand-written walking program, which we are adhering to. I must admit, the walking is as good for me as it is for him.
I am back to school today. It feels like I've been off forever. DH cooked breakfast today (since it is Tuesday and we have our routines, you know LOL) and then took off. He has some errands to run and a couple of very light jobs to do. He is restricted on what he lifts for a week or so, but our PCP said he could do his usual stuff. I am so glad they no longer think patients recover best sitting around. He will be home early so I left his lunch fixed in the fridge.
When I get home I will start putting together supper for the two of us. It is good to be home.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue nice that you are also getting the benefits of walking with DH. Lol to eating outdoors and claiming summer. That's how I feel when sitting in the screen room.
Still no rain. We took LuLa on a hood walk. After another cup of coffee we'll run those errands.

Sue, I can only imagine the relief of simply being home and doing regular things again after a health scare. You two are the cutest couple and I love that your routine is staying on track. I think routine is very comforting at times and keeps your mind a bit more relaxed when you've gone through an event. Sometimes I think that is why I keep on working. When a lot can be swirling around with health or family issues, the steady routine of working every day with very pleasant work colleagues is great. I'll bet you know what I mean and it's good you are back to work today too. Wonderful that DH is able to resume mostly normal activities and the walking routine is great. Ann, our resident dedicated walker, is proof of that one.
I'm back at work and it's sort of quiet - phew - with many folks out on vacation and students gone. We don't revolve around the semesters in our job, but it's still a break after reunion,. commencement and board meetings. Spring is very hectic.
It's cooler today about 60 degrees, but I am wearing my new red Stitch Fix capris and a 3/4 top and red shoes! I don't have a lunch with me today as I did not shop last night but I do plan to grab a salad. Our Blue Apron WW order is due to arrive today.
I finished my first Sue Grafton re-read book "A" is for Alibi. I had forgotten how much I love her writing. Now I am waiting for B is for Burglar to arrive in my Overdrive Library account. In the meantime, I will find something. I also worked on my knitting a fair amount over the weekend. It is an easy project with beautiful yarn and sort of "zen" like to me to just knit away. No pearling in this one. No counting, just knitting very low rows for the blanket. I can even watch TV when I do it. Watched the Bruins last night! Hooray - GO Bruins!

Judy good luck with the blue apron order. Lots of folks at my old meeting in Leominster loved their food.
Glad you are enjoying Sue Grafton books. I also enjoyed her writing style.
We did a little errand running. TG we got a good hood walk in before the rain. I'll go out again providing Mother Nature returns the sunshine LOL.
Lunch is done and I'm all planned and tracked for the day. Now to just FOLLOW IT!
WAving and talk tomorrow.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! We have a dreary morning out there, but it promises to be almost 70, so we'll take it! I am wearing capris for the first time to school. I have dropped a few pounds so my favorites from last year fit well and feel good. They are actually cuffed crops from The Loft and I just love them!!
DH got his call from the Discharge Nurse at the hospital last night and she was astounded. She asked questions about his meds and he told her he had them all at home pre-hospitalization except for one added which I picked up from the hospital pharmacy on Saturday in anticipation of coming home over the weekend. He has his appointment in place with our PCP for next Wednesday; and he went to the Cardiology office yesterday and had his blood drawn (for INR) and gave her his reading; and also told her he has an appointment in three weeks there. So he had already done everything on his discharge list. She sounded like that doesn't happen very often in her job.
I had an interesting conversation with a co-worker yesterday whose mom went to the ER via ambulance after calling 911 - and when the daughter arrived they left her sitting in the waiting room for HOURS before she saw her mom. That probably would be a fear for me - but then I am much more verbal and would be making a lot of noise about seeing my DH.
Judy ~ You wearing capris yesterday inspired me to dig back in my closet for mine today. I also put away some heavier shoes and made room for sandals when I get time to take them down. I have worn them a couple of times already, and enjoyed very much.
Ann ~ Enjoy your manicure today. I just LOVE pampering myself. I had to postpone my haircut scheduled for last Friday (until this Friday) because I was at the hospital. Now I feel like a shaggy mess and cannot wait to get it cut!!
Being back our routine is truly a blessing! We have been going to bed early (made it until 9:30 last night) and waking around 6 when the coffee pot turns on. That gives us ample time in the mornings to spend together and not feel rushed in any way. I don't leave for school until 9:45 so it's relaxing. I think I may make a trip to Kohl's this afternoon because I have a $5 reward that will expire at the end of the month and I would like to look at a new top. But I'll wait and see how I feel.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all and Happy Hump Day! I'm glad it is a short week. I could use more of those. :-)
Ann, enjoy your manicure. I am getting due, too so maybe this weekend. I also hear you on pre-tracking and hoping to stay the course. I think the pre-tracking helps a LOT. Enjoy your walk today, and yes, I really love Sue Grafton's books. Re-reading the series is fun. She was sort of the pre-cursor to Janet Evanovich, but Kinsey is a little more serious and the writing is overall better. I do love Evanovich, though! Fun to read.
Well, we are back to COLD weather again. I have my space heater on under my desk to warm my bare legs! I am wearing a dress and closed toe sandals today. So chilly still.
Sue, yikes on the ambulance story, but don't fret. My DH got right in with me and so did my good pal who followed the ambulance. I have also followed my mom countless times in ambulances and always went right into the ER room to be with her. You'd speak right up and at least you'd know your DH was getting treated asap. I can't imagine making close family members wait outside.
I was glad to hear your MI weather is back to 70 since that means we'll get that soon. You are doing great to be back in capris from last year.
I stayed right OP all day yesterday and even a tad under but I was up 1 lb today. Go figure. I am trying not to let it get to me.
Remember my very easy knitting/no purling pattern? Well, guess who managed to foul it up somehow? Me, that's who! I did more damage trying to rip it out. My knitting guru friend told me to bring it to her and it may be fixable, but I won't mind even ripping it out and starting over. I get so frustrated with my projects. But, I enjoy knitting so will persevere.
Pam, I hope you are having fun with the DGKs from MI and family! TTFN

Hi all. Back from getting my manicure and Gladys did a fantastic job. Another thing that I love is that having one done does not take all day like it did when I used to travel to see Kathy. This is just down the street and for that I'm most grateful We took a hood walk when we got back. Was happy to get that in as 'they say' we are in for more rain this afternoon into early evening! Tomorrow should be DRY and I'm so looking forward to that. Sue I so hear you on a routine. I'm like a fish out of water when I get off track in that respect. Some can easily roll with the punches...but I like order LOL. Carl often tells me I'd make a good Marine LOL. Nice that the capris fit well and you are able to wear them. It never ceases to amaze me how infrequently patients follow doctors orders! I had the same experience with my surgeons on how well I 'did as I was instructed'. I too would be VERY verbal if I were expected to wait that long in the ER! LOL to being a shaggy dog. I can also relate to that! Judy please don't let the scale 'get to you'. So long as you know that you are doing what you are supposed to do, it will catch up. Happens to me all the time. For instance, sometimes when I go OFF program the next day I weight in either with a maintain or a loss...only to have it FIND ME the next day or so. Lots of factors influence the up and down....pay it no mind and I know that it will all work out in the end. Hopefully your knitting project can be salvaged without having to rip it all out. I could never get the hang of knitting...I can crochet a few stitches, but can't read a pattern to save my soul LOL. I have a few afghans that I've made and several scarfs but that is the extent of it. Yes this cold weather is just nuts. I'm happy that you have that space heater. When we went for our walk, I wore jeans, a sweatshirt and light jacket and socks with my tennis. I so want to wear capris and sandals...maybe next month Pam hope you are enjoying.............. Time for me to get a move on. I need to go 'freezer surfing' to see what I can throw together for supper. Carl is in the mood for meat sauce...we shall see. Enjoy your day
