Good morning all. I slept pretty well up until I had a strange dream that woke me up feeling very frightened. I don't remember the dream itself, but had a hard time getting back to sleep.
My black fly bite came back in full force later in the day. That's the thing with those bites...just when you 'think' it's over it rears its ugly head. I had to pop an additional Benadryl along with a tylenol and ibuprofen as I had a horrid headache.
Today will be a very low key day. Not going to push myself.
Also in looking over my food choices those were spot on....I fell way behind in the water department and saw a wonderful 1.8 gain on my wii this morning. Oh well.....nothing I can do about that. I'm attributing it to the lack of water and steps. Hopefully I'll get it down before my monthly weigh in this coming Thursday!
Wishing AWF a wonderful day. Will try to pop in later.

Hi Ann,
Thanks for starting our week off. Did we start a day early? Not that it matters one whit!
Ann, so sorry the bite reared up! Was it a new bite? Yikes! Feel better. Nasty little flies.
Today is the 4th anniversary of losing my beloved brother Jeff. He was the best brother anyone could ever have . In honor of him (he was a faithful and active attendee at his Protestant church in NC), I went to a morning church service at the Methodist Church of my mom’s childhood in Worcester. In fact, my Swedish greatgrandparents were charter members. My mom was raisedMethodist and my dad Catholic so we kids were raised Catholic. My mom never converted to Catholicism but just never attended any church again until after my dad’s passing when she was back in her Methodist Church on the Cape. I used to go with her every now and thenwhen I visited and always liked it. I was a little hesitant at going on my own today to this church in our area not knowing anyone but a funny thing happened. No sooner had I walked in the door when I was greeted by a friend from my Tuesday WW meeting! Who knew she was a member?! Unlike the Catholic Churches of my own upbringing, this was a small congregation of only about 50. I enjoyed the music and service and the young minister. I felt good being there today and I may decide to go back. It was so welcoming. I like their extensive community outreach and involvement in social justice causes, etc. Anyhow, leave it to WW to connect me with a church. 😄
It’s a very warm day. I sat on the deck reading but got a little too warm. Guess I am like Goldilocks...too hot, too cold, etc!
I had a reuben sandwich in rye at home for lunch for a treat but I’ll pay for that, Ann. Salt! Dinner will be light. Turkey burger and a salad. I’ll bbl.

Hi! Just a quick note to let y'all know I survived my houseful of company. Unfortunately, DD3 got sick on Wed. and I think I am getting her stuffy nose and sore throat. So far, I'm not nearly as sick as she was. We got her almost well by the time she had to fly home Sat. morning. I have been exhausted and rested and napped all day today. Now I am headed to bed. I will catch up tomorrow.

Good morning all. LOL I did get confused with the date, Judy. Sorry about that. Sometimes my mind just refuses to WORK (((hugs))) on the anniversary of your DB passing. I loved reading the story about your DM and DB and the church. Thank you for sharing. OH how I LOVE a good reuben sandwich Glad you enjoyed and hope the sodium monster didn't bother you too much! Yes it was very warm yesterday...too warm in fact. We had horrible rain complete with thunder and lightening twice yesterday...once later in the afternoon and the worse one was later evening. TG we didn't lose power. I had to LOL on meeting the WW'er member at church No this is the same bite that decided to 'act up' again. For some reason black fly bites do that to me. Just when I think I'm 'over it' it comes back to haunt me all over again. I have more Bendaryl to pop should I need to. Pam so good to see you and happy that you survived your company. Sorry to hear that you are getting a seasonal cold. I'm bothered with allergies so I am having the same nose/throat deal. Feel better. Waving to Sue and wishing all a wonderful day. A trip back to Ocean State Job Lots will happen today as the sale doesn't end till Wednesday. Need to see what else I just CAN'T live without LOL. Enjoy the day, all

Hi all,
Pam, you must be so tired after a full week of a full house - especially the energy of the little ones! Sorry you caught a cold. Doesn't it always figure?! I hope DD3 is feeling better also. No fun to fly when you have a head cold.
Ann, sorry about your scary dream the other night. Meant to add that yesterday! And, I hope the black fly bite has gone for good now. I kept seeing warnings about t-storms and damaging rain, wind and hail on TV, but we never got anything in our area except a few drops of rain (right when I was grilling burgers naturally!). But, it looked like it was all north of us and that's you. I thought of you!
Today is cooler but sunny. It did seem almost too hot yesterday especially based on our very cool spring. Give us time to adjust, Mother Nature! :-)
I am enjoying the Wright Brothers book a lot and working on my knitting. I'll be off Friday this week to care for our new DGS. Can't wait to see him.
Have a great day all!

I'm most comfortable in 'sweater weather' LOL not to mention the wind keeps the flying things away from me Oh I bet you can't wait to see DGS.....I won't tell you to enjoy, as I know you will. Sorry your got rained on while cooking burgers. We just came back from walk #1...will be heading on out shortly. Take care, all!

Good Morning! My extra rest, fluids and Vitamin C seem to be helping as I feel better today. DD3 complained that someone sitting behind them on one leg of the flight from Detroit coughed constantly, so she wasn't surprised to start feeling bad. I loaded her up with decongestant, nose spray and an unused Z-pack I had filled but never taken a while back. Her symptoms sounded much like strep, with severe sore throat in addition to congestion. Since she only had a couple of days to recover before her flight home, we figured it was worth the chance of taking the antibiotics and they seemed to work. The week was very busy, of course. We mostly stayed home with short trips into town because at 1 1/2, Leah was not always in a mood conducive to social activities. We did manage a "fancy" dinner out per Madison's request. We ate at one of the local casual dining places in town that is built out over the oxbow lake. We all wore dresses and she felt very special, lol. My sister and DD2 were able to join us for that. We had Abby all week, so she, Madison and Leah had daily water play, either at the splash pad in town or in the kiddie pool I picked up at Walmart. On Monday, NeNe (DD3's DMIL) and I kept the kids from lunchtime until 5:30 or so and DD3 went off to meet one of her longtime friends for lunch and shopping. Another day, Denise (NeNe) and I sneaked off for a tour of my beautiful church. DH, DD3 and DMIL also took a drive up the road to look at the water from the Mississippi, soon to be drained into the spillway when the gates are opened later this week. Most of the time, we just hung out, drank iced tea and chatted while the kids played Barbies, colored or did sidewalk chalk. Friday evening, DH boiled crawfish and all 3 DDs got to spend time together. Of course, we also dealt with not-quite-terrible-two tantrums, rivalry between the 2 strong-willed older DGDs, stifling heat, DH breaking a tooth and breaking out in massive poison ivy, which somehow got passed to me. All the grownups were pretty much exhausted and ready for rest. Denise told me she slept 11 hours straight after they got back to MI, lol. Other than my poison ivy itching and requiring a middle of the night application of calamine, I have slept well both nights. DH just got back from his dental appointment and will go back Wed. to have the tooth pulled. He has lost so many teeth now, eating is a challenge. He got a partial a while back, but, unlike our Ann, gave up without trying to have it adjusted. Since the tooth he is about to lose is a front one, he will revisit that and have a tooth added to it. This afternoon, we will go into BTR for his follow-up with the endocrinologist. We plan to pick up some fresh salmon to sear for dinner and serve with leftover mashed potatoes. Finding something he can eat with minimal chewing is a challenge. Like most of you, I am a reformed smoker. I started smoking in my late teens to "fit in" and smoked off and on for 14 years, edging up to a pack a day. I quit each time I got pregnant, but always started again. Just before Labor Day 1984, DH announced to our friends that "WE" were quitting on Labor Day. It came as a surprise to me, but was opportune as a week or so later, I realized I was pregnant with DD#3. I never smoked again, but DH did the sneaky smoking thing for quite a while before quitting for good in December 2005 with the help of nicotine patches. I can't believe what an expensive habit smoking has become, both $$$ and health-wise and am thankful that is behind us. Sue - I'm glad to hear DH is doing better. Quitting smoking is probably the #1 thing he can do for his health. I know you are ready for some warmer weather, but after a couple days in the 90's with high humidity, I would love some cool air. Awesome luck with the "free" shirt!!! Ann - What is the "Ocean State Job Lots"? Judy - What a nice way to remember and pay tribute to your DM and DB! It sounds like maybe you are yearning for a closer "walk in faith." The more I read and study and participate in the richness of our Catholic faith, the more I realized what I was missing all the years I minimally participated. I hope you find fulfillment wherever your journey leads. I have been seriously considering having someone come in occasionally for deep cleaning. I was exhausted cleaning for company, and now after a week of 3 kids wreaking havoc, I have to do it all over again, lol. Enjoy some exclusive time with DGS and give him a squeeze for me. I got the laundry caught up with all the extra towels and sheets done. Time to attack these gritty, messy floors!

Wow Pam you surely were busy all week long. Sorry for the tantrums! LOL you have NO IDEA how much I want to ditch the partial...but I'll keep at it. In fact, I will give it till next Monday then I'll call to see if it has come back from the lab. The gal in the office (she runs the ENTIRE SHOW) is very good so no biggie for me to make the call. Ocean State Job Lots is a department store that originated in Rhode Island. They sell a lot of things that they get at a good bulk price and pass on the savings. Three times a year they offer special discounts...one to first responders aka fire fighters police, and EMT, veterans and over 62. There may be another group of people that I missed....I'm not sure if they do it for school teachers, but I think they do. It's the type of place where if you SEE IT and WANT IT it's best to get it right then and their as more than likely it will be gone. We are fortunate to have one right down the street from us, so we frequent it Happy to say that the wind/breeze is keeping the flying insects away from me. I took a nice walk earlier with Miss LuLa and it was enjoyable. Time for me to start the dreaded laundry once again....still baffled as to where it all comes from. Pam good to have you back I beat y'all in the smoking department. I am most definitely obsessive compulsive....that being said, I smoked close to 3 a day (packs I mean) and on weekends at a nightclub...I don't even want to GO there!

Wow, Pam, you were very busy and I am sure you are exhausted. The energy level of a 2 year old with slightly older cousins and siblings is very tiring! :-) But, sounds like you all had a lot of fun despite heat, poison ivy, tooth issues and tantrums. Your DD3's MIL sounds delightful and you two get along so well, it seems. Now you can rest, and yes, I strongly encourage you to bring someone in for the heavy cleaning. I am so much happier knowing all the nooks and crannies are clean. It's not like we can't do it, but we just don't have the energy and time to devote to it and I am not near as good as it as some folks. My DH is the best, but he has enough on his plate. My kids, my family and my parents all have/had help with cleaning so I figure it's money well spent especially as we get older. Even once a month will make a big difference. I can keep up in between. Having two dogs adds to the necessity. So sorry about your DH's tooth. Darn. Salmon and mashed potatoes sound perfect. Hard to think about what he can and cannot eat.
Ann, you are a trooper and doing well with the partial. Keep at it and I'm glad they are helpful in the dentist's office. Pam, I do like the community feeling at the church nearly as much as the spiritual aspect. You are insightful. I might be ready to add church-going again to my life. My daughter and family in CA have started going to a Lutheran Church near them. Also, good day for walking but very windy! The umbrella blew right out of the stand at our lunch table.
Have a great rest of the day - rest being the operative word for Pam and Ann! Feet up and relax. :-)

Good morning all. Slept well and woke up to no wind sunshine and blue skies. Last night I never did make it for my walk due to the wind. It was just to much for me with the pollen and all. Hopefully today will be better.
LOL Judy, I couldn't for the life of me remember Big Lots.....yes it is very similar.
Nothing pressing on the agenda for today. We'll just see where the day takes us.
I'll CBL

Hi all,
Shock of shock, I was actually down at my WW meeting today despite all the outside eating experiences! I'll take it - no matter how small the fraction down it was at .3
Ann, I agree that it was very windy yesterday. Pollen was really blowing around.
I'll check in later as there's not much new to report right now! Oh, I am doing the Blue Dot challenge with my WW meeting group. More accountability never hurts!
