You take that weight loss and dance with it GF. I agree with any challenge that helps. Some days I get to see a blue dot. I just wish they would go back to the GHG'S and base the blue dots on those.
Funny weather here....at times the wind still blows, but not like yesterday.

Ann, I SO agree with you regarding the GHG. They were very helpful and I think necessary for healthy WL.
Having some Dannon Light & Fit Lemon Meringue Greek yogurt now and it's delicious. Like a dessert!

Judy that yogurt is to DIE for...you are right, it does taste like dessert and I LOVE anything lemon...enjoy.
Seeing as 'they' brought back the journals, perhaps they will go a step further toward health and incorporate the GHG's.....I do believe that will encourage more people to attend and join then those 'wins' Just my take on it.

Hi!
I was up and out early this AM to BTR to my old office. Once per year I go in for a Catapult Health Screen and my insurance rewards me with a $120/year discount on my insurance premiums. I am happy to report that in spite of being 15 lbs. over goal, my numbers were really good. My HDL is so high and my LDL is so low they can't actually track it as it is off their charts! Blood sugar, blood pressure and liver function are all well within normal limits. The nurse who reviewed the findings with me said they are encouraged to refer people to their various health service programs, but I am so healthy I don't qualify for any of them. I am so pleased! Strangely, this spurs me on to get my weight under control.
I did some grocery shopping afterwards and am planning to make gazpacho and a sf lemon pie for DH. But first, I am going to take a short nap. I'm still feeling a little sniffly and don't want it to get worse, so am still pushing fluids, Vitamin C and extra rest.
I, too, am a fan of Dannon Lite & Fit Greek! My go-to flavors are the vanilla and coconut with fresh fruit for breakfast, but I love the key lime and cheesecake flavors for dessert. I will have to look for the lemon. Yogurt helps me meet my dairy GHG. I still use the GHGs to help keep my eating healthy and balanced.

Ann - I like both the vanilla and the coconut (which may also have vanilla-I can't remember). The coconut is awesome with pineapple and both are great with blueberries, blackberries, strawberries or raspberries. I add a Tbs. of flax/chia seed mixture for ummm...digestive purposes, if you catch my drift. Works like a dream!

Good morning, all. Slept well and grateful for that. IT's overcast here at the moment but supposed to burn off. We shall see. I just hope we are not blessed with wind!!!!! Pam thanks for the heads up on the flax/chia seed mixture. I'm going to Ocean State Job Lots today and will see if they have that. I know they sell Bob's products here with a variety of that sort of thing. Yes, I DO catch your drift I'm also going to look for that yogurt. Other than a few trips to browse around nothing pressing on our agenda. I never did get to read yesterday...spent most of the day on the phone. Wishing all a wonderful Wednesday and I'll CBL

Hi all, I had sworn I wrote a short note and hit send, but it isn't here so guess it is out in the stratosphere somewhere by now!
Ann, glad you had a good night's rest.
Pam, thanks for the tip on the chia and flax seeds. I get the drift! :-)
I had a work noontime function at a pizza place - Antonio's which is all over the state, Ann, but started in Amherst. I had two slices but that's because I will not have dinner tonight. Too busy being beautified at the cut/color salon. I do have a Premiere Protein shake to tie me over if I am too hungry but think I will be set.
All day long, we have been listening to a jackhammer ripping up the quad and stairs and sidewalks outside our window here on campus. My head is beyond pounding! It's a little unnerving, but they have to lay new water pipes so what can you do? The poor guy doing the work, but then he has on strong ear protection headphones. Wish I had those Bose noise canceling headphones here.
Have a great day all. TTFN
Sue, hope all is well with you and your DH.

Judy sending soothing vibes your way. I can sympathize with your headache due to the noise!!!!! They used to have an Antonio's Pizza shop on Mill Street in Worcester, but it closed. Not sure if it was part of the chain. These people that ran it spoke very little English, and the pizza was to DIE for. Have a blast getting 'beautified'.....nothing like good hair! I did find the coconut vanilla yogurt, Pam and it's a keeper Thanks for the heads up. I also buy the nonfat Greek plain yogurt and add my own stuff to it. I enjoy it with salsa in it and I use it as a dip for veggies (and sometimes crackers) lol. It's HOT out there! Way too hot for me...I'll wait till the sun goes down before I attempt another walk. Will try to CBL.....if not enjoy the day!

Hi all! We have a rainy day and are predicted to get up to 6" over the next day or so, the result of a tropical system passing through and pulling in moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. I'm just thankful it's not a hurricane! Well, I got brave today and took myself to a new stylist, a young woman who was a classmate of DD3. (I think I mentioned I used the same stylist for the past 20 years or so.) She barely trimmed the top, but cut and layered the sides and back and gave me bangs, which I haven't worn in many, many years. I kept the color the same. I like it and hope I will be able to style it at least similar to how she did it. DH likes it a lot, so I will probably keep it this way for a while, at least. I ordered a Garmin Vivosmart 4 after researching several brands of fitbit-types and considering cost, etc. I'm hoping to use it as part of my effort to get back in the exercise groove. I have also contacted a neighbor who has agreed to repair my bicycle and get it back in working order. My yoga class has moved back to a previous location that I actually like better as the room is larger. The owner is going back to school and will only offer classes 2 evenings per week, but has added a 10:00AM class 2 days per week, which I may actually like better. The General Discussion board had a thread on exercise and I learned about a website: www.fitnessblender.com which has some free beginner level programs I plan to try. I know I will feel SO much better once I get started. Ann - I feel you on the heat! It has been very hot here this week, so I am welcoming the rain and cooler temps. Judy - You have my sincere sympathy on the jack hammer noise. The older I get, the less tolerant I am of loud sounds. DH was watching a movie Sunday afternoon where the dialog was low, so he had to turn up the volume to hear it. The music and special effects, on the other hand, were extremely loud. I had to go read in the bedroom until it was over. Nothing much going on here today. DH got his tooth pulled and will be on a soft diet for a couple weeks. I have choir practice this evening. Other than that, things are blessedly quiet.

Pam be careful with your rain. Hope you don't lose power.
I have the vivofit 1 Garmin that I got at BJ'S wholesale club years ago. They were selling the for 25.00 as newer models were coming out. I love it. Keep us posted as to how you like it and how you do with your exercise routine. Will check that website out when I'm on my desktoo tomorrow.

Good morning all. Woke up to drizzling weather that is supposed to clear. I have a busy day on tap. Coffee with a friend followed by going to a gals home to show her how I make my hummus. Then I have an appointment with the dentist at 2 and will go to weigh in for the month at 5. Afterwards, we are supposed to be getting together with another couple, although those plans were not confirmed. We shall see what happens.
Other than that...KOKO for me.
Will try to pop in later. Enjoy your day, all!

Hi all,
Jack hammering has stopped for some reason. The day started out jarring, but it's silent now. Thank goodness! I have such low tolerance for that level of noise. It just rattles my brain.
I am really tired today - not from not sleeping but from not sleeping enough! My own fault because my hairdresser who is like a daughter to me finished up my hair around 7:30 and wanted me to follow her home to have a glass of wine with her parents and meet them. They are visiting from FL. Well, one glass of wine and good conversation wound up having me invited to stay for dinner (not my intention at all) but sometimes spontaneous things are fun. Well, I did not get home until 11. We had a lot of conversation and a nice night. So I was asleep close to midnight and woke up at 5:45 to get ready for the day. The doggies are my alarm clock. I'll get through the day with the help of coffee and tonight will be relaxing since we will have the baby with us and I can sit and hold him! My DS & DDIL should arrive early afternoon. I'll leave work early as well.
I also have a "fancy" luncheon today at the university president's house to bid farewell to a very close colleague. Just the ladies on our floor are invited and it should be lovely. So, I have my party dress on and am ready to go. Then I will need a nap. Too much all at once. Feast or famine, right?
Have a great day, all!

Judy so happy that the noise level is low. I don't blame you. Stuff like that really bothers me as I have very sensitive ears! That is nice that you spent time with you hairdresser friend meeting her parents and staying for dinner. I hear you on the late nite though...When I worked I had to be in bed early to deal with the day. Hopefully you can get to relax this evening. I went to my weight watcher meeting to get weighted in only and was down 1# from last month. They are doing the 'charms' again...if you attend 6 of of 8 meetings between 6/2 and 7/27 you get a 'sun charm'. Just passing on the information Time for me to sit and relax. It's been a long day. My partial can't be adjusted anymore....my dentist told me to try to wear it a little longer each day as the gum line sometimes adjusts. I pray he is right. If not I'll go back and see what he 'suggests'. He did mention a refund, so I'm not out the $$$ It's always something. Sleep well, all!

Hi!
Well by the time I woke this AM 6" of rain had fallen here in the early morning. The storm caused flooding in places in BTR that had never flooded--like the downtown area where I used to work. The branch of my credit union located there, as well as the adjoining Marketplace got nearly a foot of water! There were also 6 tornadoes within the surrounding area and one man drowned at a railroad underpass. Another woman was rescued from her car by 2 firemen who were able to break the car window and get her out while the car was floating away. What a mess!
Well, I got brave and sang the Psalm 23 responsorial at a funeral today. Only one small glitch, but I was so nervous I was shaking. I'm hoping the terror of it will pass with time. I really wanted to do well as the deceased was very nice. I used to see him quite a bit during visits to the nursing home where he lived. The SIL of the guy was my next door neighbor and favorite babysitter when I was a kid and she was a teen. After she married she and her husband lived nearby the high school I attended in BTR for my junior and senior years and would pick me up and let me spend the night whenever I wanted to attend an after school activity and then drive me to school the next morning. I got to visit with them as well as their son and daughter, who were preschool kids back then, at the bereavement luncheon.
Tonight I have my monthly Catholic Daughter meeting. DH is making chicken spaghetti for dinner with some leftover fried chicken tenders. We figure if it simmers long enough and he cuts the chicken into tiny pieces, he will be able to eat it.
Ann and Judy, you have both been VERY busy! I'm glad most of it was for fun activities. Ann I hope you can adjust to the partial, because the alternative isn't really good. Wishing you both a restful evening! Judy - enjoy the baby snuggles!
