Good morning all. Pam so sorry to hear about all that flooding. Prayers going out to that soul that lost his life. Hopefully your weather will dry out with no tornadoes in sight.
I am sure your singing was a comforting touch to those left behind. It's those little things that people remember. Nice that you got to visit with the family afterwards. enjoy your Catholic Daughter meeting and dinner. That sounds good.
I am slowly adjusting to the partial. I am not financially set to have dental implants and a bridge that he was talking about. Oh well...day to day and I'll just have to 'make it work'.
Today we are getting together with another couple. They are free and so are we. Not sure where it will be as it's their turn to choose. I'll just go light beforehand to compensate.
Wishing all a wonderful day and will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~ I have been peeking in now and then to keep up with all of you and your doings. No time this morning for personals but know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have been on the phone all morning with my Internet guy trying to fix a snafu with my desktop computer. Yesterday all our Wi-Fi devices were going flukey, then came back this morning only to discover I had lost the internet on my desktop (laptop). We changed settings and unplugged and finally he told me to shut the whole thing down for a while. I did - while he went to the bank and I took a shower - and when I turned it back on, everything works! Now my fingers are crossed. I need my desktop as I do my email and banking, etc., on here (as well as this). My DH is still struggling a bit and it has me concerned. He went to our PCP on Wednesday with a list of complaints. Fortunately he was able to address most of them without blinking. For the shortness of breath he blamed the new drug they put him on (which he may dc after the month is up). But everything else was answered with 400 mg of magnesium a day and a Lopressor adjustent. I remember he was low in the hospital and they were giving him a Mag supplement, however no one thought to mention he should continue at home. Then they had raised his Lopressor so high - and he was feeling lethargic and unsteady. The PCP discovered his BP and heart rate were abnormally slow so he decreased the Lopressor dose. Now he should start feeling better Our last day of school was yesterday and it was bittersweet. I am headed out to lunch with my work partner today and then dinner tonight with my VBF and her DH (at our favorite smoke house). BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue so good to hear from you. I also do a my banking and posting from my desktop and would be LOST without it. The phone is good for a quick things. Keeping my fingers crossed that all stays fixed!
What an Rx ordeal your DH is going through. Hopefully this adjustment will have him feeling like his ol' self. He shall remain in my prayers.
You are now a 'lady of leisure' with your last day of school. I'm sure you'll find your groove and enjoy being off work. Enjoy your dinner out.
Our friends called and want to go for Chinese tonight. I'm going to go light today and start drinking the water ahead of time. Perhaps an extra walk will also help out. I hate the sodium bloat, but oh well. I'll deal with it.
Time to get a move on.

Good morning all. We had a wonderful time with our friends at our local Chinese Restaurant last night. Food and company were great. Today we have a bday party from 1-3 for one of our neighbors that is such a wonderful man. I know we'll enjoy that.
Not sure how I managed to drop .4 after Chinese food, but I'll accept it as a gift and move on.
Wishing AWF a wonderful Saturday.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday!! I have a zillion things I could do around here, but since I have next week free I think I'll take the day off and catch up a little bit each day during the week. The following week I have accepted three days of subbing for Summer Child Care so far. I won't accept any more that week.
My weight was somewhat back to normal yesterday morning after a weekend of splurging last weekend on our get-away. I also didn't watch it as closely last week but now that my June WW WI is only a week and a half away, it is time to get serious (again).
We have a beautiful day on tap with abundant sunshine and a high of 80, low humidity and almost no wind. We are making plans to go to DH's VBF's house for a visit. It will be a wonderful day to sit outdoors and play with the dogs. He has a large beautiful patio in back of his house with a large yard for the Boxers to run around in.
We had a great time last night with my VBF and her DH. We sat on the outdoor patio at the Smoke House and we each ordered a Family Dinner for 2 and we brought home a whole container of leftover meats. Now we have enough leftovers in the fridge for the whole weekend. The visit was very enjoyable.
My DH is still struggling with decisions about his medications, but he discontinued the new drug that was most likely causing his shortness of breath, and he is happy with his decision. The weight of the worry was causing him to lose sleep (the night before especially) so he needed to settle it in his own mind. We will see as time goes on. He goes to the Cardiology office in a week and a half so it will be interesting to see what they say. Decreasing his Lopressor is definitely having a good benefit as well.
I think I will get a couple of things done around here and then spend the rest of the day relaxing. I have been tired since DH was in the hospital and I look forward to eventually feeling like myself again.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue I don't blame you for kicking back today. After what you've been through with DH your body needs a well deserved rest and break. Pretty soon you'll be back to YOU.
I need to get a move on. Have to walk Miss LuLa and throw in a load of laundry. Luckily the bday party is in the clubhouse, so we can walk there.
Take care all and if I don't pop back in wishing Pam and Judy a wonderful day!

Good Morning all!
Well, the pestilence DD3 brought into the house hit me like a ton of bricks last evening. I thought I had escaped it, but apparently not. My nose was running like a faucet yesterday in spite of an allergy pill and my 2 Rx nose sprays. This morning I woke with stuffed sinuses, headache, cough and lethargy. Laying low and drinking lots of fluids, including EmergenC. I will pull some "flu soup" from the freezer for lunch. I'm debating whether to make a trip to town for distilled water so I can use my Neil Med sinus rinse.
DH has picked a large bucket of sweet corn to put in the freezer, but says he can manage on his own. Tonight we have tickets for a theater performance of "Late Nite Catechism" which I have so been looking forward to. Time will tell if I can get myself in good enough shape to go. I don't want to disturb everyone else by coughing constantly. I would hate to see $60 worth of tickets go to waste, though.
My Catholic Daughter meeting was fun. Our priest was on vacation and the missionary priest from the Phillipines attended in his place. We had received an anonymous $500 donation and decided to split it 5 ways between Metanoia House (services for teens rescued from human traffiking), Hope Ministries (a local organization sponsored by local churches that helps the poor with utilities, medicine, rent or whatever they need), Problem Pregnancy Center (provides services needed by pregnant moms in financial or other trouble), our CDA kid (a 3 year old with a terminal diagnosis and high cost needs) and Fr. Orlando's mission in the Phillipines. Fr. Orlando was very interested in our organization and asked lots of questions. Afterwards, we had mimosas and chantilly cake and other snacks. I indulged in a mimosa and a small piece of chantilly cake as it is one of my favorites and I don't often get the chance to have it. Then I came home and had a small portion of the spaghetti with chicken DH had prepared.
Yesterday, I went to early Mass and spent some time in mediation. After breakfast, I headed to town for a gentle yoga class and picked up some groceries. In the afternoon I attended an RCIA team meeting. It was after that I started my downhill trend and took to my chair. DH made a great dinner of navy peas & ham over brown rice, fresh sweet corn & beets from the garden. My Garmin Vivo 4 came in the mail yesterday, so I spent most of the evening setting it up and reading about the features. I am already enjoying the reminders to get up and move.
Ann - Congrats on the weight loss! It was probably more than that. Chinese food guarantees a 2 lb. gain for me. You are quite the social butterfly lately. Have fun!
Sue - Good to hear from you! You and your DH have been on my mind. Getting those meds adjusted is time-consuming, but worth the effort. Beta blockers can really make you feel tired and depressed. My friend, Mary, who had a second heart surgery recently is feeling much the same as your DH. I just encouraged her to be patient, communicate frequently with her doctors and to remember "this too shall pass" and things WILL get better. Enjoying some social events is a good way to get his mind off his troubles. Enjoy your downtime--you deserve it!
I'll check back later for a baby update from Judy.

Hi all, Well, the house is quiet again after a wonderful whirlwind 3 days with the baby and my DS and DDIL. All went very well. I took a half day off on Thursday and was here when they arrived. Much as I loved seeing them ,I treasured all our alone time with the baby. He is such a good little baby and so adorable. I don’t think I put him down for a minute while babysitting. He so snuggly and sweet. He eats every 4 hours and she feeds him breast milk from a bottle since nursing did not work great. It’s a lot of work for her but he is thriving and so healthy plus we all get to feed him. They had a lot of fun at both the rehearsal dinner and wedding and were home by midnight last night. Gone are the 1 and 2 am nights out for the new parents. DDIL is not much of a drinker so no worries that way either. Our DS likes to have drinks with his cronies but that has tempered a lot as well with parenthood. All in all, a great visit and they will be back for July 4 when our DD and family are here. DH and DS went to the Cape this AM to get DS’s boat ready for its trip to NJ tomorrow. DDIL left about 1 pm to head home. I am home because I have a baby shower to atten at a pretty botanic garden tomorrow for a book club friends DDIL. Busy times for all!
Speaking of busy, I think we all need to kick back a bit. Sue, I know what you mean about medication issues and adjustments. MynDH has to up,his dosage of water pills lately because of shortness of breath and water weight. It’s a roller coaster of cocktail adjustments with meds all the time. I remember the same with my mom and hers were compounded by dialysis. This growing old is definitely NOT for sissies as they say. I sure hope he is feeling better soon.
Pam, boo in the cold and also so sorry about the rain and flooding and loss of a life. 😒 And you are like the energizer bunny! How wonderful that you sang a solo and that you are so involved in doing so much good for so many. What a gratifying feeling. Rest up.
Ann, you are a social butterfly, too. I love Chinese food but DH is not a fan so I get it with friends or on my own. I ate pretty sporadically the past few days babysitting. DD has celiac so I can’t really cook for her. She loves to hit Whole Foods when here for her special foods. Plus, they were out at the wedding festivities most of the time. I have one Blue Apron meal left for tomorrow. A chicken dinner with potatoes and sugar snap peas. It sounds yummy. I decided not to shop for much since we have more dinners arriving Tuesday but I’ll need fruits and veggies.
I’d love to see Rocket Man at the movies and also there is a big Middle Eastern festival happening nearby this weekend. I might call a friend and check it out if I drum up energy! Off to do some laundry! What else is new? 😀

Judy - I'm so glad the visit went well and you got some time alone to spoil the baby. It's what grandmothers do! Parenthood definitely puts a crimp in the partying, lol. No fun to be awakened at the crack of dawn by a crying baby when you have a hangover.
Well, our night out got postponed because the actress for the play is stuck in the Atlanta airport. It is rescheduled to tomorrow at 6:00PM. I'm hoping I feel better by then.
I spent the afternoon in the lazyboy, but am about to get up and put a meatloaf, potatoes and carrots in the dutch oven for our dinner. The carrots slept in the garden last night, so should be yummy!
Our LSU Tigers are struggling against Florida State in the College SuperRegional. The score is tied at the top of the 8th inning. I hope they can pull ahead.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
I just had the best time catching up with you all. I do so enjoy our ongoing conversations, and when others answer I sit here and nod my head in agreement.
Judy ~ So happy that you got to enjoy time with the baby. I also would not have wanted to put him down <LOL> They are that little for such a short time (something I didn't know when I was a new mom). Cherish every single minute! Sounds like you and DDIL are getting along better?? Perhaps it was just the absence of her mother?? I'm glad she didn't tag along, giving you some uninterrupted time.
Pam ~ I am so sorry to hear that you are sick!! You were wise to reconsider the play, although I also would have been stymied about losing the cost of the tickets. How fortunate for you that the star was delayed and hopefully you will be better tonight!! Hope you got your distilled water for your NeilMed products. I hadn't had to use mine for a few days, but woke up stuffy last night, so I did the whole routine this morning (including 2 nasal sprays) and feel better already.
Ann ~ I also love Chinese food, though we don't eat it very often. If you didn't take a sodium hit, I agree that you probably had a loss! We haven't had any "too hot to walk" weather yet, and I am glad. Too many years we went right from heat to a/c and I would prefer some break in between. It looks like our next couple of weeks will be just that. I am really enjoying sleeping with the open window.
We had a GREAT time at DH's VBF's house last night. There is one 8-week-old puppy remaining. She is sold but won't be picked up until next week. She decided I was her new favorite toy and spent most of her time hanging around me and/or in my lap (much like a canine grandchild). She fell asleep in my arms once, causing my DH to just crack up! There is also a litter of six 1-week-old pups that will be available for holding, cuddling and playing with soon. He had a fire in the firepit when we got there and we sat outdoors visiting for several hours before supper. Right after we ate, the young male came to me and began rubbing and snuggling; then I realized he knows the routine. We come, we visit and play, we eat, and then we go home. He was already saying his "good-byes". What a guy!! He is the one that always walks us to the car and stands in the driveway watching while we leave.
DH is definitely feeling much better without the Brilinta. He told me all the stores he walked in yesterday and proudly reported he never once felt short of breath! That has really plagued him even more than he let on. He is sleeping well and waking bright and cheery - just like his old self. That does my heart good! He hasn't had any leg or foot cramps since starting the magnesium supplement. He went shopping for wild flower seeds yesterday to fill our side flower bed (which currently has the stems from his daffodils) to have color for the rest of the season.
I just purchased tickets for us to see "Rocket Man" this afternoon. DH had mentioned wanting to see it and I have the app on my phone for our local theater, which makes it really easy. Once we choose our seats and purchase our tickets, we are committed and that works best for us. Otherwise we sit here saying what we'd like to see, then time goes by and we don't see it at all. Now we know we're going today at 3:50 p.m. Our theater has those great recliners and we reserve seats ahead of time.
We are off to lunch with DH's VBF shortly. I ended up doing more yesterday than I had planned, but I have several meals made up in the fridge for the next few days. I also made up some lunches for DH for the next few days. I think DH and his VBF are headed Up North to the cabin later in the week for a few days, so I may be home alone. That will be some good catch-up time for me as well.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all,
i am am back from the baby shower and what a glorious day they had for the celebration. Baby Olivia is all set well into the future. The food was scrumptious and included breakfast and luncheon items so a true brunch. I had some quiche, a wonderful quinoa goat cheese salad and then chicken picatta with risotto which was to die for. Notice how animated I get with the topic of good food?! All in all, it was truly lovely and they are a sweet and very happy couple. Also, I made plans with my best buddy to go to see Rocket Man tonight. Sue, I’ll be thinking of you!
Sue, yes the visit went really well so I’m thankful for time with the baby up here. They will be back in July for a few days. Her mom was in close contact via cell phone while she was here, but I expected that. The puppy sounds so sweet!
Ann, it is getting hot for walking! Drat , I knew that might happen. I’ll have to go early before work.
Pam, hope you are feeling better and up to going to the play tonight. Hope you have rested.

Rocket man was the most cleverly done musical I’ve seen in ages. Wonderful movie but had me in tears at times. You don’t always see what goes on behind the stardom and stage in a superstar’s life. I loved the story of Bernie Taupin and Elton and how they collaborated. I think Elton had a big part in the movie and its accuracy. Go see it! What did you think, Sue?
