This is an interesting article about the way humans should be eating: You Only Need One DietThe "caveman" diet has been discussed as the "perfect" diet for many years now, but this article has some good points about how humans changed once we had access to a constant supply of grains. Great article, thanks for posting Rene!

I think I may try a few days of Squeaky Clean Keto . I'm on plan, at least within my macros, but I'm eating too much processed foods lol. Monday planned: B: iced coffee, either black or with coconut milk L: leftover pork chop and cabbage D: roasted chicken drumsticks w/jerk seasoning, asparagus with butter Snack: avocado w/everything bagel seasonin

I ended up not eating the avocado yesterday and was feeling "snacky" last night. It passed but it was touch-and-go lol. I made some Tazo passion tea and I did add a few drops of stevia to that and it helped. Today: B: coffee w/coconut milk L: ground beef stir fried with zucchini D: chuck roast w/roasted radishes, mushrooms and asparagus Snack: avocado w/everything bagel seasoning (I'm going to eat the avocado today, maybe a hard boiled egg, too lol)

This is why I don't follow Dr Berk about keto (or anything). His information is way off, but he just runs with it. Who knew 1 cup of artichoke has 269g carbs? Apparently JUST dr berg! And corn: 123g carbs per cup? Really? Wow ALL the counters are off by like 100g carbs per cup... geesh lol
I mean, it's so obviously wrong- if he can't be bothered to fact-check what he's doing a video about, why does anyone listen to him?

My clean keto is going pretty well. I don't typically eat a lot of cheese, but I'm craving it since I'm not having any haha.
B: coffee w/nutpods creamer L: ground beef w/zucchini and guacamole (I might have some artichoke hearts just because Dr berg lol) D: leftover jerk chicken, asparagus w/butter, green beans

Good job sticking with the stricter keto but that seems like very low calories. How long will you do it for?

Another day or 2 I am using 80% ground beef, so it's plenty of calories lol. Also butter and avocado.

Ahh, the tasty kind of ground beef. 😋
I'm chugging along on Atkins. Sticking with the lower carb allowance of Phase 1 but including the wider food list of Phase 2 (berries, melon, nuts and seeds). Also ignoring the limit on dairy. 😀. I suspect I'll have to tighten up at some point but it's working so far. Was able to eat on plan and without fanfare at several restaurant meals out with large groups and a night at the ballpark -- which is one of the reasons I love low carb.

Good job Atkins is a good plan. I do intend to enjoy peaches and watermelon in moderation over the summer I have made these keto egg noodles before and they work pretty well. Well, after my clean days lol.

chris, I use new recipes as an excuse to use the kitchen gadgets that I don't use much Ok I need cheese today, so I'm going to add a little on my ground beef and zucchini for lunch.

I'm getting bored with cooking lol. I love to cook, it's just that I get bored. Son and I both love beef liver but DH hates it from childhood memories, same with any fish that's not fried, DH hated baked or broiled. He will eat it but he grumbles like a toddler through the whole thing lol. As I type this, I realize I've been really lucky that son never went through a picky-eater stage like a lot of kids. He was always pretty much an "I'll try it" guy, even as a child. Anyway, rambling So I'm going to read on dietdoctor and ruled.me and see if anything strikes my interest back up on cooking.

I go in phases with cooking and there are lots of times I get tired of it, especially in summer. Can you (or DH or son) do some grilling? I love it because (a) I like the taste, and (b) not much cleanup! And of course, (c) meat.
Just back from a long weekend with celebrations and I went non-low carb for one meal, planned. I consider that a win.

The lol for the post is my husband grilling Me: buy supplies, plan, marinate, get all bbq equipment ready, set everything out for him in the correct order; after: clean up, wash dishes. Him: lights grill; throws stuff on grill; flips once; bring in - acts like he deserves a medal for "all his work"
