Hi all I’m typing on my iPhone so bear with me if you see errors!
It’s been a whirlwind busy time and I’m already pooped but having so much fun with my little DGKs. Dd and DSIL went to Nantucket today for a day trip so we are babysitting. Yesterday was a beautiful beach day for all. We went to a lovely beach where the tide goes way out and the little kids can splash for hours safely! Last night we had dinner out at another seafood place. That seems to be the trend. Today we took them to swim lessons at the ymca and then I brought them to a great park for an hour or so. DH and I will bring them on a ride in a bit. We’ve had lunch and birthday cake!
Tomorrow DDIL and DS and the new baby arrive. We are giving them our bedroom to make life easier for them so we’ll be laundering sheets in the AM and playing musical beds. On the 4th my nephew arrives from NC with his friend. Dd and crew will leave on July 6 and the others will stay until the 9th. Phew! We’re all headed to the large family gathering on the national seashore on the 5th. I need to see what they’d like us to bring. I feel a little frazzled with all the commotion but it’s fun!
Ann, I’m glad you got a surgery date. Sue, I love reading about all your happenings and recipes. I think about you a lot lately as I race around keeping toddlers busy! Lol
Pam, we love figs!! You and your DH have such a wonderful garden.
I miss you all and will write more when I can . TTFN

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! It is actually our last day of this week since there is no Child Care tomorrow or Friday. I'm ready for a few days off.
By the time I got to school yesterday the engineer had already been there and our A/C was repaired and blowing out nice cold air!! Much easier to stay in our own room where their toys, etc., are instead of moving around.
Today there is a Field Trip so a portion of all the ages will be going from 9:30 til 2:30. Those of us who stay behind will entertain those remaining. It cooled off overnight, though still muggy, and not so sunny. Should be a good morning for the playground.
I am leaving early to meet up with my work partner for a HB egg snack before we start our shift. We do that during the school year on Monday and Wednesday so we'll indulge as well today. I have packed my lunch and cold drinks so all ready to go.
Judy ~ Sounds like you are having the time of your life!! Keep on making those good memories and storing (and sharing) them.
Ann ~ Hope you have a peaceful day!!
Pam ~ Your garden bounty sounds absolutely divine!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Happy 4th Stay safe and cool!
I didn't bother to mention that we have a circuit breaker issue with our furnace that is not allowing us to turn on the central AC. A guy came out later in the day yesterday to see what part he needs...and 'fingers crossed' he will be back either today or tomorrow to get it up and running. All I can say is TG for the smaller portable unit that we have!!!!!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy 4th of July!! Hope you all have a great holiday.
Ann ~ So sorry to hear about your A/C issue. That always comes at the worst possible time, doesn't it?? Hope he gets the part and has you up and running soon. Thank goodness you have a back-up.
We are off to the Alkathon from 10-11, then directly to the County Park where the huge Festival is held. I am really looking forward to it since we missed it last year (after 20+ years of attendance). We have turkey burgers packed along with guac and chips ..... and LOTS of cold drinks to stay well-hydrated!! They are predicting off and on storms so we will see how it works out.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! We enjoyed the Alkathon very much, seeing many old and new friends. We didn't hang around in the Club afterward as we wanted to get out to the Park and stake out a good spot for the day. We got there about 11:15 and it was already filling with other early-arrivers. We got a spot underneath a tree that was shaded then and going to remain shaded for the day as the sun moved.
We had our chairs, 2 blankets, small flags, with our cooler and food bag in between us. We had one group stop by in the morning and spend a good bit of time with us, then they left to go forage for lunch. We had our snacks first and then our turkey burgers mid-afternoon. We also indulged in a bag of roasted cinnamon almonds and some Kettle corn, and a black cherry ice cream cone before we headed for home. Holiday splurges, doncha know??
Our weather was perfect. The sky darkened in the mid afternoon and we felt a couple of drops, but then the clouds moved off to the northeast of us. A County Sheriff deputy (on bike patrol) we had made friends with in years past stopped by to visit (told her partner she was taking her break there LOL) and she checked her weather source and it was 10% likelihood of precipitation which was good news. Actually the darker sky brought some cool breeze with it which was very welcome!
Another young family (mom +3 kids) stopped by and visited for a bit, then went to the bumper cars, then came back. Daughter (starting 1st grade) with younger brother and 1 y.o. sister. They were collecting the freebies at some booths and offered to get some for us, so we let them. They were very enjoyable.
We ended up being home in time for the evening news and glad to be home. Almost 7 hours in the fresh air, etc., was welcome, but so was the quiet and coolness at home. All around a perfect day!!
Today I have a haircut appointment which I am really looking forward to! My hairdresser/GF texted me bright and early this morning that she wouldn't be able to do lunch today. I am disappointed, but always grateful that she lets me know in time to adjust my eating and plans for the day.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi Sue. Glad you enjoyed yesterday's festivities and enjoy that haircut To make a long story VERY short (as I'm on the desktop in a room that is hotter than he!!) Carl is off to pick up the part for the AC guy. The place here in town where he normally gets them is closed on vacation. The other place where he goes is two or three towns out so Carl offered to go and get the part for him! He will be here tonight to fix it!!!!! God is good Talk when the temperature in here is better! I'm not good posting on my phone.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday!! We still have the hot mugginess but they are promising a "cold front" to move through this afternoon. That, of course, will spawn t'storms, etc., but at least it should cool down (to normal) for a couple of days. This has been an unbelievable heat spell for our area, especially following an unseasonably cool and wet Spring.
Ann ~ I am so happy to hear that your A/C got fixed! Carl is a prince to go and retrieve the part himself. I am sure your A/C guy was also appreciative. But you will get to reap the rewards all day and onward! Enjoy your cookout today.
I called our newspaper yesterday morning and was assured someone would get back to me via phone or email about our problem. Well, I heard nothing and the paper still won't download. I will assume their tech support staff took the holiday weekend off and wait until next week, then I'll call again. I have a feeling that I will end up having to just cancel as I pay for the eEdition in addition to the Sunday print paper (which we plan to keep). Unfortunately my DH absolutely loves to read his morning paper as he has for many years.
My haircut was fun. She cut it super short as we are going on vacation but not for 3 weeks and I would like it to be maintenance-free when we go. It is thick and grows fast, so it will fill in in no time at all. I also went to Kohl's and returned a blouse (the one they had wadded up in the packaging and I never could get the wrinkles out of it) and looked around in Old Navy while I was there. I grocery shopped on the way home and got everything put away before I ran out of energy. While shopping Kohl's on my phone yesterday I found a pair of white capris in the same style as a new pair of light grey I bought earlier this year, and since I had a 25% off coupon, I ordered them. Unfortunately they are not available in any stores near me, so I had to pay shipping, but I really need them. They are skimmers, coming just to my knee, and lighter weight which I tend to wear instead of shorts.
I have a blessedly free day today. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do. I may start off with some cleaning and then see where the day takes me. I also need to do some tending to my plants and flowers outdoors in the way of dead-heading and watering, etc. Since I haven't done any reading all week and have a brand new book waiting on my Kindle app, I think I will indulge in some of that today as well.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi friends! Long time since I’ve had a moment to post. Today DD and crew flew off to California. DH drove them to the airport and he’s not back yet. They take off at 6:30 pm. Hopefully the kids will sleep on the flight. We had a wonderful two weeks, but I am flat out exhausted from nonstop activity! Yesterday we went to the big family gathering of about 25. We all had so much fun with new little cousins meeting little cousins! Our DGD was over the moon to meet her new baby cousin. Today my nephew, his friend, my DS, DDIL and the baby headed to Provincetown for the day. I’ve been bustling around and I’ve done 7 loads of wash. at least...mostly towels and sheets, a bit if vacuuming and tidying up. Now DH and I are resting. Some days I swear i couldn’t get a thought in my head, but I’m still so sad they are gone. Our little 3 year old is a tiny tornado! Our 5 year old is easy...loves to draw for hours.
Tomorrow my son, nephew and crew plan to head to a favorite beach. I volunteered to babysit for my little grandson. I’m up for a quieter day home. They crack me up because the have all the monitors set up that sync to their cell phones so they can hear the baby crying even when they are away. Yikes! Big brother is watching. I’ll be extra attentive. 😃
i read a lot of your posts and enjoyed catching up. Sounds like you all had a great 4th. Fireworks are still happening all around us. Our entire neighborhood had parties so it’s a fun place to be. Our neighborhood firework displays rival all big town ones.
Ill check in soon. My eating has been up and down but I’ve been so busy that I’ve managed to maintain. Bbs.
