Well, I have a very brief window as you know who is ALREADY whining and I just sat down. Yesterday was a pretty good day. We finally got the tree up, will decorate it tonight and the rest of our inside decorations. I have a few more gifts to buy this week and I'll have to go to the store again to buy ingredients for dinner. I think we decided on a stuffed pork loin. We'll see.
Oh, well that's not going to work. He's barking now. UGH.

Good Morning ~ Nadine - that is so hard to have Sidney so 'needy' for attention first thing in morning! Ugh...I am like you, I need to ease into the day with coffee and some "me time" here I used to sit at the family's desktop computer/desk but Colby would constantly want to play when she saw me there - now that I have my work laptop she settles right down when I'm in the LR...just curious, where is Sidney's crate? in the bedroom? What suggestions did the Trainer have for mornings like this? I FEEL for you!

Yesterday was a good healing day...took a shower (huge long production) once the family got up so I didn't have to hear the combat of TV volumes through the house (FR vs LR) - DD20 was all cranky and mean spirited. She was bored. No school. No Sorority responsibilities. No work that day. The rest of us would have been like, ahhh...not Carly. The weather was too icy and slick to drive anywhere so she just hung out until time to go next door (thankful there!) and was bored bored bored...can't help there. So, I pulled out a puzzle I bought self last week for recovery time - we all worked on it together for a bit - then it became addictive to Lindsey and I - 8 hours later we finished! LOL Lots of time to keep off my leg, took a few exercise/ice breaks then back at it - it was great.

Good Morning! Didn't sleep again, I was sweeting up a storm last night. We movedthe fan on my side of hte bed not right beside it. didn't help. We made our cut out cookies yesterday always a good time. AS the kids were decorating them I thought I don't know how many more years we will be doing this together, me and the two of them.
Going to get everything together slowly this week for us to head out on Thursday. I'm looking forward to this short week. Wednesday will be a non-day pretty much. WE have our Christmas lunch. Thursday I'm going int until 12n then I'm out of there and we will eat something for lunch and leave.
My Sisters are making more of the Christmas dinner. They said my Mum is getting "Stressed" One sister is making the turkey, her husband is making his stuffing, my other sister is making my Mum's stuffing, and I'm making cornbread dressing. OK just found out the reason why my sister is makingmy Mum's stuffing. So she can Vegan it up so her DD and our neice can eat it. They are both Vegan. Ohh this pisses me off. She is imposing THEIR choices on the rest of us. I look forward to my Mum's stuffing every year. It won't be the same, it will be really good, everything my sister makes is fantastic, but it won't be Mum's. I know there will be 2 other stuffings/dressings there, I know its not about the food. But it still pisses me off. My oldest sister even said to my Mum that she hopes she does not Vegan it. She is......
Ok moving on from that. It is just food after all. Getting back to tracking today.
This is going to be the longest shortest week ever!

Morning Christine! Nothing like a good puzzle to help with your recovery. Carly sounds like Emilie. If she is bored watch out. Glad you and Lindsey could finish that puzzle. Wow 8 hours, that was one big puzzle. Glad you had a good day of healing yesterday. What are your plans for Christmas. Any changes becasue of the knee?
Nadine, wish Sydney would give you some of "your alone" time. Poor thing, he is so cute, loved the antlers. Maybe your alone time can be with Sydney. I know that would make him happy.

I will try to Track yesterday's Italian fest - Carly did run back and forth from Shelly's with lots of leftovers - lasagna, homemade cheese ravioli, rigatoni, fresh Salad, meatballs and sausage. Perfect! I was so thankful not having to cook and the family was thankful for a home cooked meal lol
Sue - what happened that your Day was so awful?
Carole - Hooray for a Sick Day!!!! Love it!!
Shelly - you crack me up with your half-asleep posts! I'm the same that time of night and admire you for fitting us in each day!! ♥
Gabrielle - NO WAY did you go running in 24 degree weather! WHY? lol I do hope you girls canceled the bike ride in the icy conditions...not worth it...hope all kept safe.
Jo - hate grumpy husbands...BAH! Humbug! ....so sorry to hear the washer is broken. Is it possible to dash over to the laundry mat and just spend some time doing all the laundry? When our dryer died we did borrow our neighbor's for a few 'have to have' loads, especially work clothes. Good Luck with that! And did Comcast ever come back? That would truly be frustrating...
Jenny - glad your Mom's 80th Birthday was fun! And how cool to see your cousin and his wife...that is special . Hope your weekend was a good one and the weather is better your way -

It was really weird. DH went to put some water in it to see if it would drain and when he turned it on the water started flowing into the washing machine! So it's working. WE have no idea what happened and yes we need to replace it but no not right now. We would have gone to DBILs next door to do our laundry it would just be a pain. But its working! yay..Yes I hate grumpy husbands too! yes comcast finally did. It was strange being totally disconnected. WE would have had to leave the house to even get cell phone service.

I am taking this week off - originally, between you and me, I was only going to take a day or two as I honestly don't need crutches today - BUT a month ago when I told Dragon Lady this surgery was scheduled, she said, "Oh, you'll need at least a week or more off" so I took that as a Green Light! It really is a good decision - I have the time so I'm happy to take it.
I had DD18 pick up a new ace bandage for me as the one they sent me home with was already stretched out. Well, this new one is adhesive. Unfortunately it is irritating my skin! So, will need to send someone out again today for a traditional cloth ace bandage as I do have to use it for 10 days...incisions look good. Less bruised looking today. Still trying to get the yellow surgery antibiotic scrub OFF - using rubbing alcohol to clean and seems to help. The sharpie the surgeon used to mark the right leg won't come off either LOL

Morning all...been up for a while, making my baked eggs since they did NOT get done yesterday and I MUST get back on track this week!!
My day yesterday started great...slept in a bit, enjoyed morning coffee with Carol, then a quick FaceTime with Hannah for a "2nd opinion" on whether or not to take the boys to urgent care!! You know...she doesn't want to be "that mom" that brings her kids to the doctor for every little thing...well, I told her to take them! The look and sound terrible and the temps and symptoms have been going on far too long!
Then the day started to fall apart....what should have been a fun day of coating PB balls with chocolate, baking cookies, making a little more brittle, baking the gingerbread for the Trifle that I will put together after work, making my baked eggs, decorating the tree.....well, the chocolate chips do NOT work for coating as I was told and googled...it seized up and became gritty....had to run out to AC Moore to get melting chocolate wafers....thankfully the check out girl had mercy on my and scanned a generic 20% off coupon for the chocolate that cost me more than I had planned...oh well, they look pretty and are very tasty!
But the wafers I got came with a container of sprinkles....2nd package I opened, dropped the sprinkles on the floor, plastic slit...yup, THOUSANDS, MILLIONS, GAZILLIONS of sprinkles all over the dining room floor!!
Everything I did yesterday there was a glitch....it just snowballed and snowballed...did finally get the cookies baked and the gingerbread but had to get up early to do the eggs....tree is still bare and I hope it gets done tonight! I have to come home, layer the trifle, pack the goody bags with brittle, PB balls and cookies and that should be it for tonight! I should be able to take the time to do the tree!!
Yes, good thing Hannah took the boys...both are on antibiotics for sinusitis, ear infections and Rowan even has eye drops for conjunctivitis....the whites of his eyes are red like pink eye but the sinus infection is really making his eyes gunky....hopefully they will be good as new in no time and be healthy for the holiday weekend!
Also...Shea's DGM passed away on Friday at lunchtime so he left yesterday after the boys appointments to drive home for the funeral on Wednesday. With the boys sick, Hannah stayed in NE. Good thing about the timing, he will be bringing sweet potatoes back to NE when he leaves...they were both bummed they couldn't enjoy them surplus this year....guess Grandma Jones had a plan!!
With everything that went wrong yesterday...I think I just forgot to eat...I grabbed a cookie here, some brittle there...had a piece of cheese and a grapefruit....
It was just an all around bad day with everything!! Today has to be better!!
Time to pack my lunch box, track my day and get things organized for trifle assembly tonight! Oh, I did have Jason get a roast out of the freezer yesterday and that is in the crockpot for tonight!! Guess that was one thing that went right yesterday!

ok, well I just settled him down with a kong (which is a chew toy stuffed with peanut butter & treats) -- this was one of the trainers suggestions for the really crazy times (we are using it for dinner time, too!) the rest of the family is gone now, so I was going to just put him in his kennel early, but...
Christine, kids just don't know HOW to do nothing these days! How awesome to have this week off. I remember one year, my old boss closed the office between Christmas & New Years. I worked from home, and it was stressful, but it was nice not to have to go into the office. What i need is a laptop I can use in the living room while he stays in his kennel, I think. When I leave to go to the gym, etc. He settles right back down.
Jo, I hear you about the cookie decorating. DH and I were putting up decorations & the tree last night and this year we won't even try to involve DS19. The last few years its been a battle & it's not worth it.to have them sulking! As for Sidney, I would happily share my alone time with him if he would be quiet! Whining & barking while DH tries to get a little more sleep doesn't work!
That's all the time I get I guess, he's back to wandering around -- sorry I can't catch up!

Good morning...no I haven't been sleeping this whole morning away - I have been in line with Verizon Support - or LACK OF SUPPORT As I call it... we got disconnected on the computer and even though she asked for my phone number - she never called! Ugghhh, so back to square one with a new tech? I THINK NOT NOW!!
I am beyond frustrated with the whole thing!!
I will catch up on yesterday and get a handle on today... just NOT a good start to my day off!! Might let DH get on the phone with them later... he doesn't seem to have a problem being on the ohine half the day!

Gabrielle: YIKES running in 24 degrees... but nope... I would NOt be biking in ICE!! Jo: I hear ya'... our Verizon "service" has been so HORRIBLE lately, I WISH we had another option!! Unfortunately where we live there are NO OTHER OPTIONS! One more reason to MOVE! I need a new washer too - looked on Black Friday - but opted to squeak by as long as we can... I am starting to look after Christmas... when profit sharing will be coming... WOW - WOW - WOW to the coaching pricing with Heather!! NOPE Not going that route! WOW!! Two calls a month for $395.00!??! Shelly: So sorry you are struggling so much! I get it - too tired to DO anything... up and out early and home late...wish things at the store and the economy in general were better for you {{{{hugs}}}}

Nadine: Awww, Sid is really trying your patience huh?? I remember those days, and in my efforts of "self-care" I do not see us getting another puppy anytime soon!
Christine: YAY to a full day or recovery and feeling a bit better!!
Jo: So excited for your short week this week... and a nice trip away for the holiday!
Sorry for the "vegan"-izing of the family favorite... we get that a lot too - try to get everything GF for DDIL...Hopefully it will be OK!
Christine: YUMMMOOOO... YAY to the neighbor being so generous!
Jo: YAY for the washer hanging on for the week!!
Christine: YES Take this week and be grateful!! Are you totally "OFF"? Or will they be conferencing you in to get input??
Sue: OH MY! What a DAY!! Sorry for all the glitches, but it all turned out OK in the end! YAY for anti-biotics, but BOO to them not being able to come home... Eden is on anti-biotics too... ear infection... that's why I let her have the jammie day Saturday... but she also had her time in the snow...
hate when the littles are sick ♥
Nadine: YAY for the day off, and for Sidney settling in...
