We are walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and some do other exercise. We set goals and keep track by miles. You can set your goal for any amount, count your miles any way you wish. The goal is consistency with exercise.
We started Jan. 20, 2003 on the WW Challenge Central Board as "250 Miles by June 1" & we've done 35 five-month walking challenges, including the one we finished Oct 1, 2016.
The group challenge is to average about 2 miles a day, 13 miles a week, or 50 miles a month; if you do it, in 5 months you will have walked 250 miles, and if you have stuck with the challenge and a healthy eating program for that 5 months, you will see wonderful changes in your health, fitness, and size!
Some people will finish well before the target date & will go for more or another 250 miles, but others will go at a slower pace, and new members will join along the way, so each member is welcome to set her/his own personal goal and target date. The new group challenge which started Oct 1, 2016, is "250 Miles by March 1, 2017."

Good Morning!!
All my baking is done, still, have to break it down into containers to give to our children and take to work. No DVD this weekend. I did some stepping in place though. I hope to get a DVD in tonight. We enjoyed a little Birthday party for the youngest DGS yesterday at the local bowling alley. He was 5 on December 2nd.
Cait: I'm glad you are able to not continue with the old habits. It is a constant struggle. Good job getting some activity in with the DGD. Some movement even at a slower pace is better than no movement.
Nancy: Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
Have a great day and Happy Walking!!

Good afternoon,
Kelly glad you got your baking done, that would be hard for me not to sample everything. How many grandchildren do you have?
Cait I understand the tired snacking routine. I know that I eat when not hungry just tired. Glad you handled it so well. Our weather has been cold, Saturday we were 83 got up Sunday morning it was 14. And only got to 30 for a high, this morning was 22 today was 35, tomorrow it is suppose to get to 60, hopefully! I don't like cold weather. I walked two miles Saturday but no miles yesterday. I walked two miles today. Have a great evening. Nancy

Good Morning!!
Crazy busy day at work left me exhausted so only managed a mile of stepping in place while doing a little reading on my Kindle. Taking my goodies into the office today.
Nancy: I have 4 Grandchildren through marriage. 3 grandsons and 1 Granddaughter. None of my own yet. The 2 youngest refer to me as Mimi. They are 5 yr old DGS and 11 yr old DGS. Hope your weather gets a little better. We were above normal for months then it got colder once December hit. We had a little snow and icy weather on Saturday and then Sun brought temps in the 50s with some rain.
Waving to all. Happy Walking

Good Morning Walkers!
Last night it was late when we finished dinner & started watching TV - it seems I take longer and longer to eat as time goes on. But I did march in place 20 mins = 1 mile. Yesterday DH put up the tree & got the lights on it and now he wants me to have the rest DONE NOW so he can take the boxes back out. I like to take my time with these things, was trying to figure out how to include DGD.
I stayed up late watching TV and ate DHs trail mix :-( but will try to be back on track today & one day at a time. Since I finished the 5 seasons of "Call the Midwife" I've gotten hooked on other BBC shows on Netflix "The Bletchley Circle," and now "Paranoid."
We are having good weather here in SoCal in 60's - 70's F most days but may be 56 F on Christmas Day. As long as it's not raining we should be ok and able to use the deck as additional space. Just bought some furniture including a dining table & chairs so the place looks more homey and there are enough chairs. Nothing on the walls though.
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!

Good Morning!!
Work was not quite as bad but has been busier this weekend. Thinking patients are getting in a panic with the Holiday coming. Our Medical Director (Dr) had Olive garden delivered to the office for lunch it was yummy. The office really put a dent in the cookies and fudge that I made. The peanut butter fudge and the snickerdoodles went quick, lol. Fortunately, my new coworker will be in class the next 2 days learning the electronic record system. I did have her do a little late yesterday afternoon as I got busy getting the run around from an insurance company's Specialty pharmacy. After 45 minutes of getting transferred multiple times, I was right from the beginning and the first few workers had not a clue.
I did get in a 3 mile WATP. I have my thyroid US today so they can get a closer look at my thyroid.
Cait: Hope you are enjoying getting the new place ready. Doing the Netflix thing. I do that at times on lazy weekends.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

Good Morning Walkers!
Last night I did march in place 1 hour = 3 miles. I stayed in my green zone of pts & JGTB. Thank you God. I'm feeling good today. I did get some tree decorating done & DH is putting out other decorations. We haven't done Christmas decorating in 12 years because we always traveled. Still lots of office work to do, some home furnishing things, groceries & finish tree decorating, gifts, plan menu. Tomorrow evening DGD1 will spend the night. We're invited to a Polar Express pajama party 😀 Somehow I'll get done at least the highest priority things from my list and let go of perfectionism and stressing.
KELLY - GFY with the 3 mi WATP. Good wishes for the thyroid test. Glad the new coworker will soon be functional. Those struggles with insurance and that type of thing are so time consuming and frustrating. I feel like they count on the fact that a good percentage of people will just give up.
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!

Good evening,
Kelly I am sure your co-workers enjoyed your candy. GFY getting in your WATP. Hope all of your tests are good. I have an enlarged thyroid. I go every two years for a needle biopsy. So far all is good.
Cait glad you are getting your home set up. When my GKs were younger all of the decorations were on the bottom of the tree. We got a chair for GD to stand on to put the star on top this year. GFY for marching and staying in your zone.
I walked two miles yesterday and two today. I had to make myself get on the TM today, I had so much to do I tried talking myself into skipping the walk, but after I finished I was so glad and my day seemed to go better.

Good Morning!!
Not the best day eating wise yesterday. I was hungry last night and ate a few cookies. Low on steps as I had a headache most of the day. Not going to make it to work today due to the hospital does not have the DH surgery even scheduled til 11:30 am. Should be fun keeping is blood sugar up with not being allowed to eat. I did lower his basal rate on his insulin pump. Thyroid US did show 2 nodules consistent with Graves disease. Just need to continue my medicine and have a repeat in 6 months.
Cait: Great job with your miles, JGTB, and staying in your green zone.
Nancy: Good job getting in your miles.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

Good evening,
Kelly I hope your DHs surgery went well. And that your headache is better. You can get your miles later.
I finished up my grocery shopping today and went to WW meeting. Thought maybe it would help me stay OP better. Came home and walked two miles. Have a good evening.

Good Morning!!
Busy and long day yesterday. The DH is doing good. Picked up a few things from the store for food for the weekend. The stores were crazy. It amazes me every year at the amount of people that are still doing the majority of their Christmas shopping. I'd be a nervous wreck, lol. Only did 1 mile of exercise yesterday. Lazy lately.
We have an all staff meeting early this am, so have to be to work early. Kinda of stupid as many are off today.
Nancy: Good job getting those miles in and going to WW.
Waving to all.

Hi all. Today I start over with eating. I plan to go to gym 3 days a week to start the treadmill. The other 4 days I will do WATP. I will have to admit i gained a lot of weight. But i have the rest of the pass for this year. And free coupons from a medicare/medicaid hmm I am joining.m as of January 1. I will pay the etools amount each month to track. I am going to set a more realistic goal than 195. I will have the free coupons to do it. I decided I would eat 6 oz of tuna fish to get more protein in another wise vegetarian meals except for the tuna fish. I go to Russ's family for Christmas. This is the first day I found the boards here. I bookmarked the boards here.

Good evening,
Kelly so glad that your husband is doing okay. I am with you on all of the late shoppers. GFY getting a mile yesterday with all that you have going on.
Amy good to see you. Sounds like you have a good plan for exercise. You can lose the weight you gained, just think how much you lost.
I walked two miles this morning, spent the rest of the day with GD and bathing our dogs.

Good Evening Walkers!
I'm marching in place this evening while we watch TV. No exercise yesterday, DGD and I went to Polar Express pajama party and she spent the night with us. This am she and I finished decorating the tree and most of the rest of the decorating. It was so much fun doing it with her! She will be 5 at the end of this month but she had so much staying power to stick with that work for several hours.
I did stay up late last night watching TV and ate DH's snack foods. Again 😕 But I'm on track for a green zone day today. I went to 6 stores today to return things and purchase things and have most of what I need. Tomorrow am ill get a couple of last minute gifts and wrap gifts and start some food prep for Sunday's big event. I even bought a ring toss on the antlers game and have planned a Santa Search in the house. So unlike me!
KELLY - I'm one of those last minute shoppers. Glad to hear about DH successful surgery & just watch & follow up for you.
AMY - hang in there. Glad you will be with Russ & his family. GFY starting over & making a plan.
NAMCY - your traditions with DGD sound so sweet. GFY going to WW to help yourself stay on track
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!

Good morning. Go to WW today. I think I am going to lower my goal from 195 lower. Next year I joined a
Medicare Medicaid HMO that gives free coupons to WW meetings. When my etools runs out I will pay 14.95 a month for that. It is better than a pass in terms of cost. My eating went well ye.sterday. Have to start walking after Christmas WATP and treadmill 3 times week treadmill. 4 days a week WATP
