Hi all, I'm looking for suggestions on where I can get decent sheets that won't cost me a fortune.
I had a few set of nice cotton sheets but they wore out- can't remember where or when I got them
Currently have: -Satin type sheets- I love them DH finds them "too slippery"
-Polyester sheets- didn't realize what they were when I bought them. I can tolerate, DH says they're too hot
-100% cotton sheets- they are only 300 thread count. I didn't think that mattered but they are so scratchy I can't stand it. Went back to the one set of soft cotton sheets I have left.
I find my skin is getting more sensitive- not sure if it's my CP, RA or the meds I'm on.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Do you have a Ross or Marshall's or TJ Maxx near you? I only buy sheet sets from those stores because they are the best prices. And they have tons of selection! I try to only buy cotton in a relatively higher thread count. I bought a polyester blend once and didn't like them at all.

finreporter,- Thanks. I never thought of Ross or TJ Maxx. I think we have both, we also have a Kohls.

Check this article out:
They recommend LL Bean sheets, but Target as a cheaper pick. Since I am cheap, I bought the Target sheets and I've been pretty happy with them.

They recommend LL Bean sheets I love my LL Bean sheets, even though they were pricey. 3 years later, they still feel brand new. I love percale sheets, though some people don't like them.

I buy our sheets at Bed, Bath & Beyond and use coupons for 20% off. What I like it that they generally have a sample of the fabric so you can feel it.

I’ve been buying Wamsuta brand from Bed Bath and Beyond. You can get a set of 725-thread count for $50 to $70 for double, queen, king. And many individual flat and fitted sheets are available.
BBB also has a great screener: telling what you want in terms of price, size, brand, etc., and it shows you the filtered results.

Sheex are the ones that DH and I totally agree upon. We live in AZ and keep the A/C at 69 or 70 at night and these are the first ones that he didn't find made him hot and sweaty. I like they are so smooth and wrinkle free. They feel fresh every night. I know some people don't care for the feel of them, but a home run for us.
We have the original version. BB&B coupon definitely as they are pricey even with that, but they wear like iron.

I have a set of sheets (lighter weight) for summer and one set(heavier weight) for winter- bought them at Target. I like them both. I look at thread count too.

Just a couple of things
1. We have a memory foam king mattress that is really deep. We have been buying cotton sheets from Bed Bath and Beyond but they always slip off the corners (the fitted sheet). Any recommendations for deep sheets or other ways to solve this?
2. Does anyone just buy the fitted sheet. It drives DH nuts but I don't like to sleep under a sheet. I have multiple blankets and sleep under them. I feel cold with a sheet. I thought I was just odd but read several articles that many people do this (don't use a top sheet) and some just separately buy the bottom sheet. I wash the blankets but a common solution is to use a duvet and regularly wash the duvet cover.

The Target Threshold sheets are really deep and don't slip off our King mattress. They also sell "garters" that can hold the sheets on if you can't find sheets that are deep enough.

I don't use a top sheet for sleeping under but I oddly use it over the fitted sheet as another bedding layer, then I layer a down comforter and during the winter sleep under another down comforter. In warmer months I sleep on top of both down comforters instead of just the one and only use a light quilt as my blanket (it's actually a queen size bright orange quilt from the kids bedding at target).

Kitty, I have a deep foam mattress also; I experience the same problem with sheets slipping off the corner. Since my bed is power adjustable, I just raise the top of the bed and pull the sheet back in place. I used to use sheet garters as itsrad mentions, but I haven’t seen them for sale around here in decades. Rad: where do you find them? I’ve gone through different period where I used just a fitted bottom sheet and a long throw blanket. I’ve also used a comfortor witin a duvet. Currently I use a full sheet set with a quilt.

I always look for "Egyptian Cotton", which I find is the softest, but it wrinkles terribly. I don't mind this, but I know that might bother some. We also have a very deep mattress, so I have to check the pocket depth every time, and the fitted sheet often still falls off the corners.
I almost always buy at Winners/Homesense/Marshall's (I'm Canadian).
