So, I Made it to the pool when it opened at nine for half an hour. Just me and two lap swimmers for the lifeguard to watch. Then the parents with babies and toddlers arrived for the shallow end with the instructor...whole lotta crying! I am in the “deep” end where I can kick long legs without hitting the bottom...4.5 to 5 feet. It also us more resistance for water walking. I used water weights for shoulders and arms and float on my back while pulling knees up to chest and back for core., plus other stuff like straight leg out to side in slow big circles for hip. Leaned a lot from past classes.the present one just dies aerobics kicks. Showered at home and decided to get the bed changed before everything stiffened up. Laundry hitting dryer now and setting up for easy dinner later.
Threw the bathroom rugs into the washer...112 degrees is good for drying rugs whereas the drier kills the rubber backing.

On Fox news they are still saying one arrested. One fatality so far and 24 injured although some are in ICU. They are expecting a police update soon.

That is just awful about the El Paso shootings. Last I saw from NBC News said at least 19 fatalities and over 40 injured. He must have had a lot of ammo to do that much damage. That close to the Mexican border, I'm really anxious to hear the motive. My prayers and thoughts go out to all those affected. How sad.
Linda, good job going to the pool today. Sometimes I liked being on my own better than being part of a class because I could do the exercises that I knew I needed, versus those the instructor chose. It takes a lot more than just kicks. What was for dinner that was so easy? And was white wine part of it? I'll bet those rugs dry really fast in 112 degree heat and if you get them at the right time, hopefully the rubber backing won't deteriorate too quickly.
It's scary to go out in public these days, Becky. You may remember my saying that this spring a local nut job walked up to 2 random people at the outlet mall here and shot them. A 24 year old woman visiting from PA died and an elderly man from MA survived. The shooter killed himself. There are a lot of crazy people in the world.
Dale got up at 3:30 today for his race and was out of the house about 4:45. Mercifully, Arya let me sleep until about 6:45. I did a couple loads of laundry and cooked several breakfasts for Arya and a week's worth of eggs. I also spent time playing with my new software. The programs that are similar to Word and Excel are fairly easy and I'm still having to find my way around the desktop publisher program, which was apparently developed by a German and I'm having some difficulty figuring out what terminology to use when I get stuck on something and need help. It looks like I am going to have to do all the stories in the Word alternative and then import from there. I think it's going to take me a little while to get comfortable with it.
Waving to the rest of the gang.

Karen Last count was 20 dead and 26 injured and fighting for their lives. There may be a manifesto talking about illegal immigrants but are not willing to say for sure.He is from Allen,TX north of Dallas. He had to drive over 600 miles to carry this out and only 21 years old. It's so sad.Where do parents go that's safe to take their children. We heard on the local news his name but on Fox News they won't release his name. There is a shooting or a stabbing every night. One person died after a shooting in Cedar Park. When do you get your new laptop?

Just a quick check in. We have been busy and not checking news or social media. Another mass shooting!? When does it end? As if this life doesn’t have enough sorrows, we have to worry about getting in a crowded place now. Malls, food festivals, schools, night clubs, work, subways, movies, outdoor concerts...it is never ending and very depressing.
OMG.I just read we had a mass shooting in downtown Dayton at one of our popular neighborhoods for restaurants and bars. 9 dead, at least 16 wounded by a person with a long gun. It makes me want to cry.

Good morning chicks and just checking in since I've been MIA.
Such horrible news about these shootings in El Paso and OH! I do not know what this crazy world is coming to. I just lost the post I was sending to you all for reasons unknown to man, woman or techie.
I am in very bad pain and just look for respite when the OTC meds and pain patch kick in each day. Hip is causing sciatica with some help from the lower back no doubt. 2 sore knees and the left is still not right from the vascular procedure. I think it's fair to say that this is NOT my year for dealing with lower extremities! I will see the hip surgeon tomorrow after x-rays and the vascular doc on Tues. for an ultrasound and to discuss the left leg.
Had a nice afternoon yesterday as we attended the Bat Out of Hell musical that Gary had given me tickets to for my birthday. Another time I will explain the complete and utter debacle of trying to get the darn tickets to us and downloaded!! Really good show filled with great Meatloaf music and talented people.
Need to get to the grocer and then rest for the remainder of the day. Did too much walking on Thurs. and Fri. and I inevitably pay for it every time now.
Please stay safe and have a nice Sunday. Know that I think of you all each day but just haven't had the focus to get online and post. Ciao for now dear ladies~

Chele I heard about Dayton first thing this morning also. The answer in TX is not gun control but mental health control.I am not saying I'm set against gun control but so many Texans owned guns before background checks came about that they will never find all of them. The idiot in El Paso had to drive 10 hours to target that particular Walmart.I am praying for the people of Dayton also.I have been down about all of this and stuff like this although upsetting doesn't get to me this badly but it's too much for one weekend and seemingly there is nothing they can do about the endless shootings. There is a fatal shooting or stabbing every night in Austin. It's so sad.
Liz I'm sending prayers and hugs to you for all your pain.I share your knee pain.No it doesn't seem to be your year where pain is concerned.Good luck with the hip surgeon.

Liz, I am sorry for all your pain. I hope the surgeon and doc can relieve some of it.
Becky, I am heartbroken that the craziness has reached our little city. We have our share of violence but nothing like this and after the tornadoes this is the last thing we all needed.

All young white males...lately hate crimes. Things were better before Reagan law changed in 2004 when young guys could not get assault weapons.
Mentally the whole country needs a better focus instead of politicians whipping up anger and politically using minority groups as targets.
Also The Russians through social media have spent last few years posting nasty stuff on both sides of all issues to stir up division so we get mired down instead of doing anything useful that might affect them.
no plans and glad. So tired yesterday and achy today. Who wants to go outside or get int0 a parked car at 112? 113 tomorrow.

Karen, thanks for the start. It does sound like the El Paso shooting was a hate crime. So tragic for all of those people and their families and now another one in Dayton. When will it end? The desktop publisher program sounds like a challenge. Is that part of Libre?
Chele, I'm so sorry to hear about the shootings in Dayton. It's an awful thing anywhere, but it's really hard when it's your city. I don't know what it's going to come to with public places.
Liz, so sorry that you're in so much pain and hope the docs can help this week. Glad you enjoyed the Meatloaf show. I saw some clips from it and it looked like a lot of fun.
Becky, I agree mental health control is needed, but I don't think any ordinary person needs an AK-47. This has gotten me down too and it is just too much for one weekend. Sorry to hear the knee is still causing you pain.
Linda, I do think the politicians whipping up anger and social media has contributed to this. We certainly didn't have as many mass shootings when assault weapons were banned and it made it a lot harder for people to get them.
