Good morning all. Such a beautiful day (so far) out there. Have the slider opened and enjoying the cool air. Not much on our agenda for today. I just feel the need to kick back. Yesterday Donna and I 'power walked' and I'm feeling it in my legs and feet! Tomorrow I have the over the phone interview for my upcoming surgery which is scheduled for August 27. I so want this done and over with. Still feeling discomfort. I love that this hospital doesn't require you to do in person to pre-register. Smaller hospitals have less complicated rules Wishing all a wonderful OP day. Will try to pop in later.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! I am up and have started my day. I decided to go see "Lion King" this morning. I checked showtimes at our local theater. and it only showed today and tomorrow, so methinks it is leaving. Good thing I decided to see it this week. I also found I had enough $$ on my loyalty card to more than cover my ticket, so I didn't have to pay out of pocket. Ahhh ..... a free movie .......
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue wish we lived closer as I would LOVE to see it. Couldn't convince Carl to go and I didn't want to go solo Win Win to see it free. Enjoy. We are in the process of switching PCP's to one that is closer to us. Tired of traipsing into Worcester. She is going to mail us the paperwork and I will fill it out and drop it off but AFTER my surgery on the 27th. I don't want to mess with the switch beforehand. Time to get ready to walk with Donna...my new walking buddy. Talk tomorrow...waving and wishing Judy and Pam a super day

Hi from sunny California! It’s warm and beautiful and today I’m hanging out with my DGKs and helping with my daughters daycare. There are 8 kids here today all 2 and under. Yikes. Two full time teachers plus my DD. All do not stay all day. Some are leaving soon and thankfully her daycare room is big and set up like a great classroom. I’d be so exhausted ! I left at 330 am for a 6 30 flight and arrived by 1030 yesterday. I stayed to west coast time to get adjusted so I’d be up about 22 hours by bedtime but I slept well. We went to a beautiful mall yesterday to buy the kids s new back to school outfit and then went to see my DGDs new school and then out to dinner for great burgers and gelato for the kids.
I’ll check in soon!!

Hi to all!
Another hot, steamy day here today with 55% humidity and a 93 temp, it feels like 104. I did not get a walk in early, but will go to yoga this evening. I kind of have the sniffles, so don't know how that will go, but I'm going to try. I am fighting this hard as I don't want to be sick on vacation!
I took the car in for servicing this morning, dropped off my payroll sheet at the hospice office for the hours I covered for my supervisor, made a bank deposit, got a pedicure and stopped by 2 stores to get stuff I need for vacation. Now, I'm working on laundry and have the last load in the washer. I may try to get a little packing done before I head to yoga.
We're having the traditional Monday meal of red beans and rice for dinner tonight.

Good morning girls. It was another good sleeping night for me. These extra hours of shut eye really make a difference to me throughout the day. Judy so happy that you are enjoying sunny California Yikes is right with all the kids roaming around Hope you get to relax and get caught up on the time change soon! Pam I am so sorry to hear that you are still having your steamy sauna like weather. It did get HOT here yesterday afternoon, but it does cool down nicely early evening. I'll take it. Today whatever we do will depend on the weather. 'They say' heavy rain and thunder is going to happen. I haven't re-checked the weather. Waving and wishing all a wonderful Tuesday. Will pop in later!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
So good to peek in the Cafe this morning and find greetings from all of you!
Ann ~ I also wish you lived closer so we could have gone to the movie together. My DH had absolutely no interest in seeing it, and I have no problem going to the movies alone. I've done it before with no problem. I enjoyed it very much. I never saw a "Lion King" movie before, so didn't even know the characters or story, so it was all new to me. It was very well done!!
Judy ~ So glad you arrived in California. School clothes shopping is only a fond memory for me, but it used to be such fun. I think the last one I took was a great-niece who was entering Middle School and she protested, but I insisted, and we had a great time. Your DD's Day Care sounds like fun, except for the "all 2 and under"<LOL> They do suck the energy out of everyone around them (but then I spend my days with 3 & 4 year olds). ENJOY!!
Pam ~ Your weather sounds absolutely tropical! That was the "new" word our meteorologist used yesterday when our humidity shot out of sight. It had been dry, then increased steadily through "muggy" into "stifling" and finally called "tropical". I closed up the house and turned on the A/C. You are certainly busy, but isn't that always the way when trying to get off on vacation? When do you leave?
I was back from the show in the early afternoon and drank a Premier Protein shake for lunch (back on track) and then munched on some chicken breast. I also grilled sirloin burger patties for supper and chicken tenders for today's supper. We had a salad of broccoli, cauliflower, grape tomatoes, feta and Light Ranch with fresh corn on the cob. DH had a burger on bun and I ate mine plain. I am serious about cutting back. I did have a bedtime snack of a Skinny Cow NSA ice cream sandwich with some sliced strawberries on top which was divine!! Tonight we will have tossed salad with avocado and chicken breast tenders.
I have taken care of a few phone calls already this morning and will finish "working" soon and settle down with a good book. I did all the laundry yesterday and will probably clean house tomorrow or the next day. No sense in rushing into anything <LOL>
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue I saw the original Lion King movie with a bunch of friends when it first came out back in the day and so enjoyed it! Glad taht you enjoyed it as well. Nice that you are back on track. It takes time once you stray....I find that true with me. I'm with you on NOT RUSHING a thing. Done with the phone interview. I have to go to the hospital before surgery for blood work and an EKG which is mandatory once you reach a 'certain age' LOL. Good thing is that I don't need an appointment. I told the nurse that I would get that done next week. Today we will stop at the new PCP office here in town as I have some questions to ask before we jump on board with the new PCP. While we are in the neck of the woods, we'll hit the dollar tree to browse around and then Market Basket and perhaps Marshals. Just wanted to pop back in as I doubt I'll get back online. It's just one of THOSE days Take care all and talk tomorrow

Good Evening!
I bustled around this morning pre=packing--preparing pill packs, checking toiletry supplies, makeup, etc. Unfortunately, I will also have to pack nose sprays, decongestant and the like as my sniffles have now developed a cough to keep them company. Thankfully, I don't feel bad.
I got my hospice visit done this morning and visited one of DSIS's classmates who is now in the nursing home with Stage IV brain cancer. I saw his sister at the musical Saturday night and she told me he has refused hospice care so far. I tried to set his mind at ease regarding hospice care and chatted with him a while. I had some time to kill as both my patient's son and the hospice nurse were headed to her room, so I visited with him for a while and then saw my patient.
I got more pre-packing stuff done when I got home, prepped dinner, went to yoga and then RCIA. I didn't get home until 8:00PM and was pretty hungry by then. We had baked pork chops, fresh smothered okra & tomatoes and potatoes for dinner. Now it's time for jammies and I will try to finish my audiobook, The Alice Network(VERY good!), so I can check out a couple more for DH and I to listen to on our trip. We leave Thurs. morning so tomorrow will be VERY busy!
Sue - I forgot about your lovely salads with feta! I really enjoyed it and will have to make it again when we get home. It's filling and delicious.
Ann - I hope you enjoyed your busy day. Rest well!
Judy - Enjoy your time with the kiddos!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! We have an absolutely beautiful day on tap. I think I will spend some time outdoors.
Yesterday was a very productive day, as I got some phone calls made which resulted in setting up a payment plan for DH's hospital bill; AND I got his newspaper app working!! I actually called the Free Press to cancel our online edition (keeping our Sunday print paper). The lady I spoke with told me we don't pay extra for the online edition (though we used to). BUT she suggested we take another look at it. She did some checking that no one else had done, and sure enough, I think she found the problem. She had me sign on through the website instead of the app, and it didn't load. When she logged onto our account, she found that we didn't have digital access! I had thought all along that the problem was at their end, only because I experienced the same issue on various devices at this end. She got us signed back up and it worked! DH woke up early this morning and said "coffee and the Free Press, what a combination" and he was up & at 'em!! He had really missed his morning paper, and I was delighted that I was able to restore it for him. Funny how a little thing like that can weigh on your mind??
I read half of my newest book yesterday afternoon and then made myself put it away while we ate supper and watched TV together. Now I have the second half to look forward to this afternoon. I am going to put a pork sirloin tip roast in the crock pot this morning with a cut-up sweet potato for tonight's supper. I think I will cook a green vegetable and open some NSA applesauce. Our salads last night were delicious! My scale is showing a steady drop, thank goodness!
Pam ~ Sounds like you are busily getting ready for vacation. Have a great time!!
Ann ~ I thoroughly understand you taking a day off. You've been very busy as well.
Judy ~ I hope you're still having a fabulous time!!
I am going to get showered and dressed and then decide what to do with this day. I need to do some birthday shopping to complete a gift for this coming Saturday, so I should get at it, so it is ready.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue - I'm glad to hear you finally got to the bottom of the online newspaper problem.Customer service people need to "slow their roll" and get to the bottom of issues before blowing you off. Kuddos to the Free Press employee who finally solved the problem! After many years of free online issues of our newspaper, I had to subscribe recently. Like your DH, I love my morning coffee and online news.
Well, I managed to cross off every item on my to-do list. I am packed, the car is cleaned, house is cleaned, cat litter changed, plants watered and a thousand small task items are done. We took what little fruit & vegetables remained to DD1 and said goodbye to all and congratulated Abby on her first day of kindergarten.
DH and I ate at our fav local spot tonight and enjoyed watching some out-of-town Arkansas guys try to make time with several off-duty young ladies who work there. The girls are headed to Nashville tomorrow for a bachelorette party for one of them. They got some free shots off the Razorbacks and then blew them off. Our favorite bartender was very protective of the girls and I teased her that her "mama instincts" were showing big time. She freely admitted that she was looking out for her young co-workers and thought it was time that the Arkansas guys called it a night and went back to their hotel down the street. Things had calmed down before we headed home. DH & I shared a "half & half" shrimp and catfish plate with onion rings and couldn't finish it. We left one piece of catfish and several delicious homemade onion rings.
We leave by 7:00 AM and will stay in Amarillo, TX tomorrow night. DH is really excited and his classmates have been posting on fb all day as they left home and headed toward Canyon City, CO. We are looking forward to a good time with old friends.
I will check in when I can on the iPad.

It's so annoying working with customer service these days. Judy bet you are making loads of memories. I am going to have a repeat day of yesterday....still needing my quiet time.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Thursday! We have a grey, dreary day on tap today which may be good for just staying indoors.
Yesterday I completed the birthday gift shopping for Saturday and also grocery shopped at Meijer. I found a coupon in my purse for $10 off a $50 purchase, so watched my shopping so that I exceeded that and could use the coupon before it expired. When I went through U-Scan my total was $52!! I did the happy dance.
I bought a few Oscar Meyer Lunchables (which were on sale) to put in DH's lunches once in a while for variety. Sometimes I just come up empty with great ideas. In fact, I gave him one today. I wasn't sure if it would be enough lunch so I added a Laughing Cow dippers snack pack and some Jello w/fruit.
We were able to eat supper outdoors and enjoyed it very much! My scale is sliding downward still, so that is encouraging. I was up several pounds from vacation (and indiscriminate eating) so I am having to really "pay the piper". But it is working and once I'm back in the groove it should be easy to drop a couple more.
This morning we had poached eggs (mine with grits; his with Seeduction toast) and a bowl of fresh fruit (cantaloupe, strawberries and blueberries). I should be all set until lunchtime. Monday I had some grilled chicken with my Premier Protein shake and Tuesday and yesterday I had some tuna with a shake. I just need to "stay the course". My WW WI looming at the middle of next week is helping very much.
I got a school email that changed the days of our High Scope Step 1 workshop at school. It was originally Tues-Wed-Thurs next week; and now it is Tues-Thurs-Friday. I am just grateful that I didn't have other appointments for Friday as I would like to complete this and have it behind me.
I am still deciding what to do about supper tonight, as I haven't finished cleaning up from breakfast yet. BBL. Make a great day!!
