What are you willing to do to maintain or improve your mind, body, and spirit? To lose or maintain your weight?

Saturday's goals
Make time to sit in the sun and just "be." There is joy to be found in the warmth of the sun, the piercing blue sky, and the song of birds. Eat more diary and/or dink more milk. Am falling flat in that dept.
Ha ha ha... There's now some noticeable "sparkle" to my hair now. Stress will sure do that.

Thanks for our start June. I am on the fence regarding dairy. I havenโt figured out if it is good or bad for me and never felt it a. Ecessary part of the old Good Health Guidelines I have yogurt and small amounts of cheese but donโt drink milk or milk substitutes.. Bee, willing and aware are the best we can do for ourselves. We are doing the usual grocery shopping after breakfast and a few other errands. Temp is cooling to 101. Nora will be here in the afternoon so we will plan cool activities. I will track breakfast and lunch early so I. An figure out what I have left for dinner Enjoy the day

Saturday I have an early manicure. After that depending on sleep weather and pain, I may go shopping with Carl. If not he will go solo and I'll just stay put. My pain is at a 4 right now.
Sleep well all.

June, my hair is overly sparkly. Yes, the sun has healing powers I do believe. I am a milkless WW unless I eat cheese. Never cared for milk.
Audrey, enjoy your afternoon wit Nora. Hope you find some good deals grocery shopping.
Becky, hope your knees are better tomorrow. Otherwise, good plans.
Ann, sorry your pain level is so high. I am sure Carl can do this. Enjoy your manicure. Hope you rest well tonight.

Checking back in. . .
Bee j Being willing and aware are, at the heart of things, great stepping stones. There was no smokehouse meat today. R picked up his buddy and they started painting window trim around the house. Later in the evening he helped our neighbor & his brother figure out a drainage problem. Then they shouted the breeze for a good bit. Audrey I remembered that you felt that way. Am like the others, I am more likely to eat cheese & Gk yogurt. But I have not been eating enough of either. Enjoy your time w/ Nora. Solid approach to "what to eat" before dinner out.
Becky Good to hear that resting gave some relief at times. ugh. . . You & Audrey have been dealing w/ blistering heat for too long.
Ann ๐ Wish that your were not experiencing any pain. Hope that you can rest well despite it. And awake feeling better.

Bee j Ha ha ha. . . another way to "shine"? My gramma had platinum hair. So I always tell my hair that when we go sparkly, we are going platinum. Let's see.
Goodnight all.

More books read, authors contacted, reviews posted, food cooked, water imbibed...and then trouble getting to sleep. Up early though no sleep before 1 or 2 in the morning but no doubt tonight will be earlier than last night and later than the two nights before 9pm. Funny how it all averages out in the end.
Today I need to do some kitchen tidying, laundry and make the vegetables into something. I will probably make a vegetable lasagne OR ratatouille with rice. I made a soup that started with one each: zucchini, carrot, onion, potato and garlic clove (2 actually) then to it added leftover dry and green beans cooked in tomato along with the leftover brown and wild rice and since hubby wanted corn...threw in a small can of that, too. He enjoyed it and so did I BUT the small pot for four servings soon became twice as big. Funny how one of everything turns into a lot.
Today is my daughter's fortieth birthday...need to send her an email to wish her a happy birthday
Today I am willing to:
* have a fruit/veg at every meal * hydrate * be aware
SUSI: It sounds like you have fun plans for the weekend. I hope the weather cooperates.
ANN: I tossed and turned, itched and twitched, and could not turn my brain off last night. No pain except the left shoulder BUT I do prefer nights I slip into slumber with greater ease than last night! It has been a month since my last haircut and it is now about the length they usually cut it when I go in. It may take another month or more before I return for another cut Glad you like your new stylist!
BEE: Hooray for the drop on the scale at weigh-in! What is a jumble?
BECKY: Take a load off, put your feet up, join Bee and Ann relaxing for a day! I hope you have more energy soon!
LADONNA: I hope you get a break in the heat and can enjoy cool breezes. The popsicles turned out tasty but weren't easy to get out of the container. I used to make ice cream from scratch when first married (when we had electricity to run the freezer) and served it to guests. I have read you can use a loaf pan to make popsicles and put in sticks as it freezes...then cut into bar shapes. Hubby wants to know if we can make grape popsicles and I was thinking "grape juice" from a jar...he was thinking "juice the grapes from our vines" and we may...time will tell.
AUDREY: It is sad that yards are dry and barren in some neighborhoods - in California with the droughts of the past it is not surprising, though. I can see that spending money on water for yards would not be a priority for everyone. There was a classmate of my son's in first grade that learned Swedish, Finnish and English at once because his parents understood one another's scandinavian languages and responded to one another appropriately and both also understood English and he was in an English school. It can be difficult to pick up that other language when neither parent speak it...have talked to a few students who said it was almost impossible. I am glad Theo and Leo are safe at school. The college events and the guy weekend sound interesting! When I counted points I couldn't see spending them on milk...maybe cheese but not milk. I am still on the fence on it, too.
MJ: Glad to hear the Diva-Taxi had a bit of a rest...along with the taxi driver
PAM: Always envision you with a smile on your face and a positive attitude!
JUNE: I had never seen the pint jars before and much prefer them. If the dealer is trying to sell them to the shop I went to perhaps I can track him down or find a shop that does purchase and sell them. I will keep looking. I loved the visual of the one brother working with your husband and another man supervising...

Good morning all. Happy to say that I slept pretty well last night. Lord knows I needed that Today the manicure. Right now looks like we are going to get rain. The day will be planned around that! Cathy I hear you on those kind of nights. Sometimes sleep just won't come with all the noise going on in the brain! Great to have a fruit/veggie at each meal. LOL there are a lot of us that don't care for milk. Carl drinks milk with meals....he has always loved it. Will pop in later...waving and wishing all a wonderful OP day!

Good Morning, Glad to have a day off with not a whole lot planned. We are going out to eat tonight with my cousin and her husband. I think our children may go also. She wants to go to a wing place in Lexington. I love wings but not sure what I'll eat because I want to stay OP. Or as close to OP as possible. I am sure a cocktail or two will be involved. Until then just some puttering around the house and going to the church later to print bulletins. We finally got rain yesterday! So thankful! June, I love sparkly things just being, while enjoying the beauty of the earth sounds so refreshing. Hope your day is just beautiful! Bee, hope you are feeling better and rested. Audrey, going to follow your lead to count B and L and see what's left for the dinner meal. I'll eat light for the first two so I have more points for the evening meal. Becky, take care of yourself today and hope you feel much better. I have not checked temps today but hopefully the rain has cooled us a bit. Ann, wonderful that you like your new hair dresser! glad to hear you slept well Cathy, the soup sounds incredible! yes, it is funny how a pot of stew can grow to something enormous LOL Interesting about the loaf pan - I would have never thought of that. Happy birthday to your daughter!
